Chipper’s out… so naturally, it’s a GREAT day to rest McCann and KJ!! Not like we need offense or anything.
May 30th, 20093:28 pm
Watching the Mets game, cool hearing Keith Hernandez talking about the plight of the late 80s Braves.
May 30th, 20093:29 pm
I think it works well as a collective conscience of the fans. Braveheart
Quite the astute observation, and this time its in a short paragraph so my ADD didn’t have time to kick in.
May 30th, 20093:30 pm
Your 1:56 hits the nail on the head brotha. I couldn’t agree more, yet I still check the blog on a daily basis to see DOB’s insights and information. It is only to be smeared with negative comments.

CB ok, friend. Friends don’t let friends be fakers.
JD sweetie not everyone here has a penis ok. You get it now? Don’t assume.
May 30th, 20093:32 pm
Thank you Braveheart. You’re one of my fave posters btw. Not because you agreed, but because you’re one of our true intellectuals….
May 30th, 20093:38 pm
Diehard we got you ,dudette.
May 30th, 20093:39 pm
If Lance Berkman could play 122 games in center in 2002 on a team that won 84 games, why not try Diaz in center for a game?
May 30th, 20093:41 pm
JD I can understand McCann (he’s gone like 6 days straight)
No…he had most of the night off on Wednesday.
Why couldn’t Bobby wait till tomorrow to sit him? I don’t know how much of the game I’ll get to see tomorrow!
AndyC I have been thinking about this and I think that this may be his strategy now since he has had a couple of serious injuries on plays at the plate, last year and then again in 2006.
Could be. Doesn’t hurt my feeling a whole lot–plays at the plate give me a weird feeling in my stomach. I love it when he gets the out, but man oh man…they scare me.
I’m sure you can describe these injuries much better than I can.
I don’t remember the actual plays to well–there’s no replay of Byrnes running over him like, anywhere. I’ve tried Googling it just so I could see how Mac was blocking the plate or whatever, but I could find no replays.
But yeah, the injury turned out to be a little more serious than they originally thought–sprained ankle, missed 3 weeks…and it was still giving him a little trouble last year.
The play with Victorino…I haven’t seen that one since it happened. Part of me wants to watch it again to see if McCann was out in front of the plate, but I don’t know if I could watch it…that was really scary. I think BMac was sort of out in front, ’cause he like, turned back to the plate to make the tag and that’s when they hit…but I could be wrong, and like I said, I’m not in any sort of a hurry to see that again.
…If this is the case, then I can respect that and except a few runs getting by.
Yeah…me, too. It is tough when they do get by, though.

we really need to DFA Norton and bring up a Center Fielder.
May 30th, 20093:44 pm
Reds place Joey Votto on DL
Steve from OH
Braveheart, I don’t have any real problems with. Just having a bit of fun…I think it’s good to give Schafer a day off, too.
May 30th, 20093:45 pm
I’ve got work to do anyway, so maybe the radio thing is a “blessing” (yeah, right) in disguise.
My philosophy is that nothing good ever comes from not watchng Braves games.
Diaz is center with a flyball pitcher. Kelly Johnson leading off. Martin frickin’ Prado batting cleanup. No McCann.
The ol’ donk keeps everyone guessing and wondering.
May 30th, 20093:46 pm
Wow, didn’t realize Dan Myer was still alive until I just saw him pitching for the Marlins. Looks like he’s putting up some nasty numbers in relief this year.
The Braves have scored 10 or more runs on five other occasions this season, but they’ve followed that up with a loss four times. Atlanta has scored a combined six runs in those losses while hitting around .200.
May 30th, 20093:47 pm
No more comments on fandom for me, I’ve earned my stripes.
No offense Diehard, just different ideologies on blog/fan etiquette…
Can someone fire bobby cox? I think his brain is done. I no longer blame it on the braves. They have no idea what thier role on the team is because bobby cox cant manage. I love bobby cox and what hes done for the braves but I think its time for a change. This is getting freakin frustrating.
May 30th, 20093:48 pm
He likes to keep us on our toes.
Braveheart, I don’t have any real problems with. Just having a bit of fun…I think it’s good to give Schafer a day off, too. (STEVE FROM OH)
Oh, I know you don’t. Wasn’t really directed at you. Honestly, I think I’ve got more of a problem with Diaz in center than you do. I think I’m just thinking out loud here trying to convince myself this is a good idea
Roman Gal My philosophy is that nothing good ever comes from not watchng Braves games.
Good one! But if I have to miss the game tomorrow, I sure wish that was the one Ross was catching…
May 30th, 20093:49 pm
Wouldn’t we have been better off with Francoeur in CF and Diaz in RF?
Is Bobby trying to send Wren a message- “Get me an outfielder or else”?
Well, if anything we’ll all have a hearty laugh, Braveheart.
Thanks, Shamus. And, yeah, you’ve definitely earned your stripes, my mick friend.
May 30th, 20093:50 pm
McFann – yeah, but he didn’t really get a chance to rest his legs if he still went out there.
And he’s not in the lineup today because everybody knows that lefties can never hit lefties.
of course the Cubs would be on FOX over the Braves. I hate Pennsylvania!!!
I’ve got work to do anyway, so maybe the radio thing is a “blessing” (yeah, right) in disguise.
Wouldn’t you prefer to listen to Boog talk about bullsh-t that people post on crapbook during the game? I love how much that guy talks about crapbook. Man, what an announcer.
May 30th, 20093:51 pm
Hello Braves fans,
Any of you got Nick Esasky’s cell number?
Anyone have an online radio link?
Haha. I feel ya. If I’m gonna miss a game, it might as well be one without our “A” lineup.
May 30th, 20093:52 pm
Salamander, I’m sure his soulless corporate puppet-masters are forcing him to do it, but yeah, it’s annoying. Still like to actually see the players do stuff, though…
May 30th, 20093:53 pm
MR J – dont you think Bobby could just sent Frank an email or a text message? Maybe Bobby is just being old school? Lol!
Diehard Braves Fan w/ Apology
May 30th, 20093:54 pm
I’m a diehard Braves fan. I apologize.
Why is Schafer sitting? To me Francoeur deserves it more.
Why is Francoeur allowed to endlessly suck?
May 30th, 20093:55 pm
I mean, what other reason could you possibly think of for Joe Simpson getting a facebook account?
May 30th, 20093:56 pm
I am a fan of Diehard Braves Fan w/o Apology. A lot of people who dominate the posting on this blog should know that there are a lot of Braves fans out there who loathe the way that the public discourse (e.g. this blog) in the Braves world is dominated by overnegativity. There is plenty to criticize, but the overall tone is usually pretty terrible. Everyone can feel as entitled to vent as they want, and It’s easy to just skim through to look for DOB’s updates, but it is still disappointing that the public face of Atlanta sports is consistently represented this way.
May 30th, 20093:57 pm
Yeah, I think Boog is totally being forced to talk about the facebook crap all the time. Just like all the radio talk show hosts who keep pretending they’re cool because they’re pretending to twitter because they’re bosses are making them pretend to twitter.
Do we still have an “A” lineup?
Frank from KS
May 30th, 20093:58 pm
pryguy re: your 3:50 p.m.
Hey, I’d much rather have the Cubs over the Twins and Rays which is the game their showing on Fox here.
So don’t feel so bad….(Lol).
It would be better if Joe and Boog did what the rest of us do on Facebook: make snide remarks about how ugly people’s kids are.
May 30th, 20094:01 pm
KC– Several pages earlier you were talking about the ill-fated Tex trade and you mentioned “E Andrews”. I know many miss seeing Erin Andrews on Braves telecasts, but you can see her a lot on ESPN and ABC. I suppose you could see she was traded by Time Warner, but I do not think they got anything back for her. Perhaps when referencing the trade, you meant Elvis Andrus.
May 30th, 20094:02 pm
Ok I found a bunch of radio links if anyone needs them, let me know.
Sir are you really a sir?
Diehard we got you ,dudette. CB good for you..didn’t leave you speechless..you are a person for the ages! You can call me dude anytime, my current seeker does so I’m use to it.
May 30th, 20094:03 pm
A lot of people who dominate the posting on this blog should know that there are a lot of Braves fans out there who loathe the way that the public discourse (e.g. this blog) in the Braves world is dominated by overnegativity.
How long’s it been since we’ve had a decent team and didn’t keep embarrassing ourselves on the field? Oh right….4 years. But Vazquez sure can lay down a mean bunt!
Let me rephrase that…
If I can’t see the Braves/DBacks….I’d much rather see the Cubs/Dodgers.
So…pryguy…don’t feel so bad…(Lol).
May 30th, 20094:04 pm
Who was that bespectacled man?
May 30th, 20094:05 pm
Yeah, well…he could sit tomorrow…but I know.
Hey, I think he’s hit lefties much better since coming off the DL. I gotta get the exact splits, but I think it’s been more like old times.
And if he cann finally get a hit off Rauch, he cann hit off anybody…
did anyone just see that mccann interview on fox? good stuff haha
May 30th, 20094:06 pm
I have a question:
What should the public face of Atlanta sports look like?
May 30th, 20094:07 pm
I’ll take one of those links there – MFin04
May 30th, 20094:08 pm
Oh, McFann….I was completely kidding about the lefty/righty splits (since Bobby so often seems insistant upon matchups). I know McCann can hit regardless.
Oh and TBS is showing Yanks/Indians tomorrow on
Yeah–Before he went on the DL, he was 2-20 (.100) against lefties. Since coming back? 7-18 (.389) with a double…
May 30th, 20094:09 pm
I’m off to watch the game. You guys have fun. But don’t complain too much unless you want the fan police on your tail.
Oh, no prob. I was just sayin’…huhu…I just posted the split, anyway.
May 30th, 20094:10 pm
Sir Stealth, the way to fight over-negativity is with over-positivity.
May 30th, 20094:11 pm
Oh wait, the game’s on Fox. As Skip would say, it probably won’t start for another hour or two.
May 30th, 20094:12 pm
(and of course pretty much anything sci-fi) (CBF)
Ever watch Equilibrium with Christian Bale? Sci-fi(not spaceships) action movie. Pretty good IMO.
not sure if you caught this- full interview with your mann from FOX
He’s pretty adorable here
Rodney Derrick, yes, I DO miss Erin Andrews!! With respect to Jerome Jerrenovich and Fred Hickman… they’re just not the same.
I hate how FOX does there Sat games. I can’t see the Braves ’cause they’re showing the Chicago v LA game and the game is blacked out on mlb.com.
May 30th, 20094:13 pm
May 30th, 20094:14 pm
What should the public face of Atlanta sports look like? (CHOP CHOP)
Oh, that’s easy. An empty seat is the public face of Atlanta sports.
Afternoon, folks. Tough week. Another Braves win over the Snakes might just turn us around — again, LOL!
Does anybody have what radio the braves are on?
May 30th, 20094:15 pm
Here is the radio link I’m using, should work for everyone…
If not….go here:
Yeah, I think Boog is totally being forced to talk about the facebook crap all the time.
It’s more fun to hang out there during games than here. There are real Braves fans that go to talk about the team, including the problems, than to complain. Why is it “crap”, because you’re an old fart and don’t get it? Maybe because there’s not enough negativity? That’s where I hang out, the crowd is diverse in all ways, and people are really into the Braves and games. There are a few who playa-hate but they don’t dominate like they do here. I invite real fans to check it out you can carry on a conversation directly with someone and/or make general comments to the blog. Check it out, you real Braves fan will feel much better about yourselves.
May 30th, 20094:19 pm
All the REAL Braves fans (in-hiding by most accounts) should come on out and gush.
We’re not gonna bite ya, gush away!!
May 30th, 20094:48 pm
Keep the offense going please ~_~
May 30th, 20097:22 pm

Prior to iOS 5, the iPod branding was used for the media player included with the iPhone and iPad, a combination of the Music and Videos apps on the iPod Touch. As of iOS 5, separate apps named “Music” and “Video” are standardized across all iOS-powered products. While the iPhone and iPad have essentially the same media-player capabilities as the iPod line, they are generally treated as separate products. In the last few years, iPhone and iPad sales have overtaken those of the iPod.”..^”
