Wow. Joe how the crap can you credit Jeff? He barely threw out the catcher at home, that’s NOT impressive.
Helluva throw by Francoeur. Could be a big run if the Braves can wake the bats
Finally get the first good play at the plate i’ve seen in who knows how long.
Nice throw Frenchy!
What’s Benji go? About 300?
Wow. BMac actually tagged someone out even though he was still almost too far out in front of the plate.
May 27th, 200911:46 pm
Is bad hitting as contagious as hot hitting? Frenchy is bringing them all down, even Chipper!
Before tonight, Kawakami was 2-3 with a 3.60 ERA in five home starts, and 1-2 with a 6.89 ERA in three road starts.
Maybe this’ll wake the lumber.
DOB, I think that is wishful thinking. But I like it!
May 27th, 200911:47 pm
Dude honestly Mac ain’t playing. Do you know who IS playing?
Andy C, That was David Ross at catcher, not BMac.
Oh bravos, you were referring to what I said about Bobby. Heh. There’s too many moments to chose from tonight I guess. Anyway, when Kawakami hit the batter to load the bases the camera cut to Bobby and he just did this thing with his hat, hard to explain but you could definitely see the frustration.
I’ve never seen that commercial they just showed with the old woman saying Gonzo was
“nice looking”. LOL cute.
Wayne in Utah
Sorry, I misunderstood your comment! And, yes I passed on the kiss offer.
Prado!!!! Are you smoking something in the dugout? What the hell is he doing?
Rob in Mobile
Well, Frenchy redeemed Prado’s, ummm, bizarre sense of fielding fundamentals.
Beauty of a play by Frenchy
You guys think Molina is slower than Kotch? I don’t know.
well, Frenchy’s arm is still good…
he nailed the “gallapagos turtle.”
WOW Schafer got a hit!
May 27th, 200911:48 pm
AndyC: Check your lineup.
KJ is 10th in the majors in HR among 2b.
You know that is pretty good considering all the times he was benched for Infante against the lefties he has three homeruns in 40 at-bats against this year.
How is that a hell of a play by Francoeur? Come on, folks. Molina is a flat-out mother****ing sloth.
But, it does look like he left, which is one less whiner to have to bear.
Way to go, K’fer! Big ups to the haters on the blog.
If you don’t like the posts, then Don’t read them…
We express our thoughts on the pathetic play of the braves for the last three years, And If you and Down with that, then We’ve got 2 words for ya!
Nice swing Schafer! Good bunt KK.. Let’s get him in. Cut the lead in half.
I’ve seen that commercial yes it is cute.
If Schafer keeps doing the whole 1 for 4 thing he might have half respectable stats in a month or two.
If Francoeur doesn’t make that play, he’s shot in the clubhouse.
May 27th, 200911:49 pm
If Winn got hurt getting called out on strikes, please don’t tell Chipper that it’s possible.
Only one earned run against Kawakami — other was unearned because of the passed ball.
Oh, DOB don’t make excuses for him, we all know he’s a disappointment.
Next you’ll be trying to get us to believe he’s had 6 out of his 8 starts have been Quality Starts!
Oh, oh, wait….
Good swing by Schafer. But let’s see if KK can bunt……yep, nice job.
You’re right. An outfield assist to end the inning and keep it a close game? A real announcer would’ve just yawned it off…probably wouldn’t even mention it.
And Kawakami ain’t a speck over 5′7″. Did you see him in the dugout standing next to the others just now? Well actually, all you could see was the top of his helmet.
that line about Gonzo cracked me up
No mention from Homer Simpson that Molina was actually safe at the plate but the minute he sees something that doesn’t go the Braves way he screams bloody murder. What a loser.
May 27th, 200911:50 pm
Honestly if the put Escobar on the DL who are they gonna call up?
I heard Brook Conrad isn’t on the 40 man roster and he’s playing shortstop every day in Gwinnett. Someone from Double A to play infield? Or an outfielder?
Eric from MO
Wait are they playing? MLBTV says they are still on commercial break.
May 27th, 200911:51 pm
good grief…what does it take to get a break here?????
May 27th, 200911:52 pm
Look at K’fer go!!!
Is anyone else having problem now with MLBTV?
Kotchmeister Comes Through!!! Yeah!
May 27th, 200911:53 pm
Is it just my bias against the Lakers, but does it seem like they get a lot of favorable calls that their competition doesn’t get??? I could be wrong, heaven knows I have been wrong enough this week!
Eric From Mo…MLBTV Is getting one over on you
No, not “great we got out of it”, no a real Braves fans says:
Slowest man in baseball. Easy play for Francoeur.
and “The Kotch” comes through and (in theory anyways) the braves are tied!
Obviously you don’t see my point. He threw a one hopper to Ross, and BARELY got out MOLINA. who was on SECOND. That’s an assist BUT it’s not the most impressive one he’s had. And the gushed about it like it ended the game. Good play, but that’s a play he’s expected to make with his arm. He may not always make it, but still not THAT impressive.
My MLBTV also froze, what a piece of crap this service
May 27th, 200911:54 pm
Chipper likes to alternate between dip and bubble gum…how MLB of him…
What is the latest with Escobar??
3 K game for Chipper?
May 27th, 200911:55 pm
Yes, Eric from MO.
Frank from KS
Ya mentioned getting accepted as a *friend* on Tawney Kitaen’s Facebook page.
Take away all the drugs, and diseases…..she’d be one I definately wouldn’t kick out of bed. :>)
Andy C, How’d you like that AB from Bob Horner just now?
We really don’t make use of Schafer’s skill set. We’ve got a team that lacks both power and speed. So, what do we do with our one hitter who has decent speed? Bat him 8th so that every time he gets a hit in front of the pitcher he doesn’t get to take advantage of that speed. He either has to stand on 1st and wait for the pitcher to make the third out to ensure that the lineup turns over, or he has to allow the pitcher to drop down a sac bunt.
Look, I agree with everyone else that Schafer has issues with his swing that need to be worked out. However, if we’re going to continue to start him while he works through it all, let’s at least take advantage of the skills he offers rather than letting them rot.
Yes, I realize he scored just now. All I’m saying is, would you rather never take advantage of his speed by having him hit 8th, causing us to have to use an out to move him up a base … or would you rather let him try to use that speed and move up a base on his own without using up an out?
joe & boog suck.
I’m having trouble with MLBTV and “game in commercial break” also.
NYC up until tonight I hadnt had a problem with it since opening week and it was fine until this last half inning.
Wayne In Utah
Regarding the Fakers
That’s why I stopped watching the Facre known as the NBA since the Mid 90’s
May 27th, 200911:56 pm
well, one run is better than nothing..and its just the 6th
“Chipper likes to alternate between dip and bubble gum…how MLB of him…”
as long as he doesn’t look like he has a rat in his mouth like Bennett normally does when he’s nawing on something.
Chipper looked bad there. Imagine if he had to go on the disabled list. This team would be finished.
Chipper’s eye ain’t hurt, why was he swinging at all those ball fours? Wanting to make something happen before Prado got up there?
Escobar is taking a break while we start to sink and continue to stink.
Okay I know I might sound crazy but how IN THE HECK. or WHY. Would you leave an obviously hurt player in there to hit? I know some of us hate Kelly but I think he would have had a better chance at a hit there than Chipper.
Chips going to the dl guranteed
May 27th, 200911:57 pm
Looks like we’ll be playing the D’backs without our starting third baseman.
I was just getting ready to turn it off and go to bed and it came back on.
I’m thinking that if we can start Diory H in the leadoff position, maybe we should put Schafer there instead??? With all our lineup issues, that would seem to be a no brainer to me???
Wayne in Utah-
You are not wrong about the [expletive deleted] lakers. Been happening for years (2002? 27 4th quarter free throws in game 6? back when i was a kings fan? Yeah. that still hurts!) Then again my felings regarding the [expletive deleted] lakers is pretty well documented so I may not be the best person to ask
May 27th, 200911:58 pm
i agree chipper will be going on dl
3 strike outs for chipper he is hurt fat A$$ take him out. It very simple wetard move pado to tirdbase and put kelly at 2nd base.
Wayne, some people stand to lose a lot of money if they don’t get Kobe vs. LeBron. You’ve seen the commercials right? Of course they get calls. That’s part of the NBA. They have more than a little WWF in them
Geez, three hits and a single run through six innings against a 75-year old Fezzik, for heaven’s sakes.
Pass the nachos…
You have a point. Being hurt in the feet, hands, whatever has nothing to do with his eyes. IDK why he was swinging at bad pitches.
I also don’t know why Kelly isn’t at 2nd and Prado at 3rd when it’s obviously to a deaf man he’s hurt.
Same old story……….Chipper is playing hurt, he is not feeling well……….3 Ks……… Got to wonder why do players today get so much money if they dont perform like in the old days………bunch of pu…………
Bill @11:56, those were my thoughts exactly
May 27th, 200911:59 pm
It’s a testament to how poor the Braves’ offense is that someone who really belongs on the DL is up there, gimpy and swinging away (and missing).
I’d like to thank MLB.tv for not allowing me to see the Braves score their run. I enjoy missing an entire half-inning.
It seems like in the NBA the home team always gets the calls.
i think prado might of got lost in Berkley today.
May 28th, 200912:00 am
Why would Cox sit both Kelly and McCann? This lineup is a joke.
If Chipper hits the DL, then he is out till June 12th. That would about do it for this team. Shame on Wren. When your two best players miss games, it makes it that more important to not clog up other posts in the lineup…..Anderson, Francoeur.
now that cracked me up
May 28th, 200912:01 am
“Braves, Chipper Jones finalize contract extension : $42 million deal runs through 2012 and includes a vesting option for 2013″
How fun are the next 3 years going to be? “Chipper is about to be put on the DL, can you guess by which ailment?? …. Times up, the answer we were looking for is “memory loss” since Chipper can’t remember where third base is.
Once again KK is giving us the chance to win………..no offense to show for the effort……….Cox ball at its best.
May 28th, 200912:02 am
KK, Come On!!!
big run out there at 3rd
Headline tomorrow…Chipper, Yunel to DL..
Chipper needs to order a couple of Phiten anklets and a Phiten toe ring to help get those lower extremeties healed up. Whatever works. Just Do It!!
Doc, I know, really! Cox K’d like 3 times tonight with runners in scoring position. Man, he stinks at the plate!
Isn’t it just horse S*** that this team has soo much trouble the past like 10 or so years winning 1 run games, but they won their only WS in a 1 run affair. Just saying, I’m sure everyone has thought this at one point.
May 28th, 200912:03 am
We will lose 3-1 and KK will be pointed as a loser……….and he is not.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
