Oh bravos, you were referring to what I said about Bobby. Heh. There’s too many moments to chose from tonight I guess. Anyway, when Kawakami hit the batter to load the bases the camera cut to Bobby and he just did this thing with his hat, hard to explain but you could definitely see the frustration.

I’ve never seen that commercial they just showed with the old woman saying Gonzo was

Obviously you don’t see my point. He threw a one hopper to Ross, and BARELY got out MOLINA. who was on SECOND. That’s an assist BUT it’s not the most impressive one he’s had. DAM

May 27th, 2009

We really don’t make use of Schafer’s skill set. We’ve got a team that lacks both power and speed. So, what do we do with our one hitter who has decent speed? Bat him 8th so that every time he gets a hit in front of the pitcher he doesn’t get to take advantage of that speed. He either has to stand on 1st and wait for the pitcher to make the third out to ensure that the lineup turns over, or he has to allow the pitcher to drop down a sac bunt.

Look, I agree with everyone else that Schafer has issues with his swing that need to be worked out. However, if we’re going to continue to start him while he works through it all, let’s at least take advantage of the skills he offers rather than letting them rot.

Yes, I realize he scored just now. All I’m saying is, would you rather never take advantage of his speed by having him hit 8th, causing us to have to use an out to move him up a base … or would you rather let him try to use that speed and move up a base on his own without using up an out?
