BREAKING NEWS: This just in, Chipper to be DL’d with bruised hair follicles. The injury happened this morning as Chipper was brushing his hair after showering. He will be unable to wear a helment for 10-14 days.
Yea KamaKaze didn’t have his best stuff, but he bared down when he needed to…If we lose Chalk it up to the AWFense once again…
May 28th, 200912:04 am
How much you wanna bet this ball is hit to Chipper and he can’t make the play?
May 28th, 200912:05 am
Man This is a key at bat here, And it will prolly decide the game!
Come On KK!
“Take away all the drugs, and diseases…..she’d be one I definately wouldn’t kick out of bed. :>)” Frank from KS
Yeah, in 1986, maybe. Besides. It was a joke. I’m not one of her “friends”.
She has yet to accept me.
Eric from MO
Crazy how many people got mad at me when I said we shouldnt of signed Chipper to an extension and should of let him walk to the AL at the end of the year because he cant stay healty and now everyone complains because he is hurt AGAIN! You can build a team around a guy who is constantly hurt. I also remember everyone telling his injury woes are probably behind him and he will play at least 135 games. Still dont understand that wishful thinking.
May 28th, 200912:06 am
The umpire blocks balls better than McCann.
Kamakaze Hung One, Fck!!!
Well got to work in the morning. Going to bed.
Well that run was crapped away quick.
awe, and they get the run back.
May 28th, 200912:07 am
Wow, just looked at tonight’s lineup again, and wow, what an embarrassment! With Chipper all gimped up, there’s not a serious threat out there.
Eric from MO
Now anyone that said he wouldn’t get hurt is stupid, but he could still play that many games with some DL trips.
#3 – Lame.
ball game. No doubt about it.
bad pitch there … hung a curve
May 28th, 200912:08 am
“Isn’t it just horse S*** that this team has soo much trouble the past like 10 or so years winning 1 run games, but they won their only WS in a 1 run affair. Just saying, I’m sure everyone has thought this at one point”
This season we have a tough time just scoring 1 run in a game.
Seems to me Chipper thought he wouldn’t get pitched to, cause of Prado. Well big surprise…HE DID, and he didn’t deliver.
Hey I’m from Athens. AL too…..small world buddy
May 28th, 200912:09 am
Game over. See ya in AZ.
Get KamaKaze out NOW….!
He has thrown a dozen 56 footers within the last 2 innings!
Smoltz is going to end up being more healthy the next two years than Chipper, and probably play more games.
May 28th, 200912:10 am
We are so screwed if Escobar and Chipper both hit the DL. We’ve got zero infielders in AAA worth bringing up. There’s Canizares but he’s apparently as agile as a tree trunk on the field.

here comes the Booger!!!
kAMAKAZESAN NEEDS TO SLOOOOOOW DOWN A LITTLE MORE!!!
Doesn’t matter, if he had given up 1 run he’d gotten a ND.
Man, is it really only the 6th inning?
is KK getting squeezed?
Eric from Mo, I agree. I love chipper but sometimes you have to cut the cord and let it go. Maybe its time.
May 28th, 200912:11 am
I’d just assume Kawakami stay in than let Moylan come in with runners on.
Wayne in Utah
KK didn’t pitch too badly. Too many bases on balls though….
Once again Bobby waits untill all the wheels fall off before he decides somethings wrong
My bad DOB. Good thing Ross was in the game to make that play.
KK’s whip tonight plus 2. not good.
May 28th, 200912:12 am
Usnless Chipper is out for a year there is NO way that’s possible. MO-RAN
In KK’s defense, he actually didn’t pitch that bad. We make a couple of plays and this is a tie ball game.
mets fan in atlanta
Its funny all the garbage and insults most of you had before the game towards Randy Johnson, but some of you forget that he’s going for career win #299. The man knows how to pitch. According to him, he wasn’t focused when he pitched against the Mets a little over a week ago in that Fox Game of the Week. Since then, he pitched a gem against Seattle in his homecoming, and now tonight. Granted your lineup isn’t helping, but you have to go with what you’ve got.
Not everyone, Eric.
Chipper is what he is. An aging HOF’er whose baseball mind is as sharp as they come but whose body is 37 years old. I still say Chipper, for even just 120-130 games, is better than anyone else we have for 162.
Hasn’t Moylan been a bit better as of late??
If he is not responsible for losing why is he the manager? Braves will lose regardless of who the manager is, right? so they could use tha bat boy as their manager……….it makes no difference……….
It is his fault………..not 100% of course but the greatest part of it.
You think it is a coincidence LaRusa was a winner in Oak and he still is in StL??? or what about torre………lots of people said that when he was gone from the yankees he would be exposed because yankees could have won with anybody as their manager…………..now he is in LA and he is proving he is a great manager. Look at Scioscia, his top pitchers are down and he manages to win, even with Vlad hurting.
What do we had with cox? 10 times the patience we would like for him to have with some players and excuses………nothing else. With the kind of pitching braves have………..there is no excuse to be this bad……….NONE.
We have Lowe……….among leaders in wins if not the leader………..JJJ among top 3 in ERA and Vazquez among top 3? in Ks? Kawakami giving us a good effort 80% of the times………..Moylan, soriano and Gonzalez in the bullpen…………..and what do we have to show for? a team that struggles to stay at .500………. We celebrated geting back to .500 like if we have won the pennant……..come on. This is absurd.
May 28th, 200912:13 am
I thought is was the frickin 8th….my eyes must have merged the 6 together.
Moylan in to give em up again.
It’s going to be embarrassing watching this team in hostile territory for 4 games. AZ scores runs. We don’t. And with Chipper most likely out and Esco not playing, we’re REALLY dead.
Kamakaze Once again deserved a better fate for giving a chance for his team 2 win…
I said it before that Plain and Simple this is a display of Uninspired baseball tonight…
I know this game isn’t over but they seem like they are just trying to get to the next off day. I don’t boo when I go to games but I Would if I was at the game tonight. It’s one thing to get shut down by great pitching but it’s another to don’t care about getting Punk’d by the Jubroni teams of the league
It seems like we love to lay down against the Garbage teams of the league
Wonder Why people rather go to see the Gwinnett Braves more!!!!
May 28th, 200912:14 am
Well Pete’s in.
This one’s over folks!
oh Snap I was being facetious-I’ll prepare you next time.
Maybe I spoke a tad bit too soon on Moylan?
Moylan looks like Garbage as well!
aWWW Gadsdammit what a sickly bunch of wannabes sonofabitch I am so done with this gag and puke show!!!!!!
hey Wren do us all a favor and fire that crankly old B@stard in the dugout!!!!
Frank from KS
N8 re: your 12:05 am post
Oh yeah…I can still her on the hood of the car in the Whitesnake video.
I forgot one thing to add to my post….the fact that she’s just a bit psycho(sp). I think she turned psycho while with Chuck Finley.
…and , yes, there we go. Thanks Bobby!
Well at least RJ is out of there.
Rob from SC
why is Moylan still on this team
Gawd dammit moylan needs to go to the land down under and take this team with him
Man, Kawakami has labored tonight, but we still have a chance to give up just three runs through six if moylan does his job here…… oh well.
May 28th, 200912:15 am
Man, we are making these guys look like the ‘27 Yankees.
I love high life guy.
the really sad part is that I am complaining and it’s only 9:15 out here…
Hey DOB how about Carlos Lee of Houston makes more sense than most names mentioned so far
heck of a play by kotchman, Molina almost beat him to the bag
Needed to do that one pitch earlier, Peter.
THERE IS NO MOTIVATION IN THIS GROUP………THAT IS CONTAGIOUS.
Thanks DOB for taking me to task!
May 28th, 200912:16 am
Was there this much pessimism about the braves when they lost in the late 90s? Im a young guy so wasn’t too aware of the fan’s attitudes…
You know… Moylan is utter crap. Post surgery, he has been awful.
lol it’s only 11:16 here
Making a play for Mark Derosa seems like an even better idea now that half our infield seems to be falling apart.
Doc, I agree Bobby is stubborn as a mule…example, playing JF daily and on and on. I just think some of the bashing on the man goes overboard sometimes. Not saying you do all the time, but had to comment on your thoughts from earlier.
May 28th, 200912:17 am
A team this bad, you have to put the blame on Wren and Bobby. They put this team together.
If the Astros have Pence they’d take Frenchy right?
May 28th, 200912:18 am
Good E-4 Maybe this AWFense will Wake The F…K UP!!!!
And for you “quality start” lovers, that wasn’t one….sorry.
May 28th, 200912:19 am
So is Chipper hurt? Or did he help out Schafer by ‘K’-osmosis?
Jesus, if Frenchy comes up with 2 on here, could it be the at bat that decides his fate with the Braves?
Kawakami didn’t pitch that bad, certainly good enough to keep us in the game….provided we had anything that even remotely resembled an offense, which we don’t.
The Braves Rarely dropped 2 of 3 to Garbage teams in the 90’s in General
And there wasn’t blogs as well
May 28th, 200912:20 am
Did they just say it was in the low 30s there?
Oh no…not Stenchy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Come on, Frenchy, man up!
May 28th, 200912:21 am
Rally Killer Up, Lets See what happens
here we go again, Trade that useless turd to the Damn Bosox already!!! And for godsakes FIRE that Homo Joe Simpson too!!!!!!
I’m beginning to hate you Jeff.
Come on frenchy the bo sox are watchin
May 28th, 200912:22 am
Way to go kid!
Francoeur is who we THOUGHT he was!
RIP Jeff. Your time here is numbered, pal. Thanks for the 6 weeks of memories in 2006. Since then, you have been garbage.
It’d be nice if Francoeur even had warning-track power, this shallow-outfield stroke is killing the team.
May 28th, 200912:23 am
Way to make the pitcher throw you a strike, Jeff
That boy is about as useless as a Kleenex is to Booby Kooks!!!
If you wanna crown him, then crown his ass! But he’s who we thought he was!
Uh, it wasn’t a disaster either. But thanks for the brilliant statement of the obvious.
That Stenchcouer is about as useless as leenex is to Booby Kooks!!!!

May 28th, 200912:24 am
Don’t get too excited were snake bit Medders had trouble throwing strikes and Francouer will swing at the first pitch everytime. This is horrible, if Chipper and Esco go to the DL the season is over because we will be 5 games out before June 1st. And the big bat everybody wants even he can’t carry this offense without Chipper and Yunel.
hmmm..Tom Kelly of the Twinkies managed from 86 to 01 and hung it up citing burnout. He was a great manager during the day. He knew it was time to go.
I think that the Booger needs to follow suit. Lord help me, I’ve tried not to be this way, but the Braves just seem uninspired and lacksadaisical (sp).
That starts with the manager.
Another one pitch AB after a walk. Frenchy, thy name is dimwit.
Good place for Mac to go bayside.
God what hapened to this kid. He has been awful for so long now. Why is he playing every day?
