Nice play, by the rook!
And lets be honest, Randy Johnson looks 3 times MY age. lol
Listening to the Joe Simpson talk about Medlin, most people would feel for the guy. I’ll try to resist that temptation.
May 26th, 200910:32 pm
Walks Winn and then gets a line out to end the inning.
Randy Johnson looks like a buzzard in the face. Or a condor…
He ain’t too purdy, folks…
Enjoy your game Braves fans -later.
What happened to you T.Lincecum ?!! Oh ! I know you will be back as soon as the Giant score !!! YELLOW COWARD !!!!!!!!!!!!
May 26th, 200910:33 pm
Scurd!!!! Boog Is Crazy!

Did Anderson just hustle
Anderson beats out an infield single.
Much better first inning than his last start… you can still see the nerves and adrenaline though, but a tiny bit more controlled this time out.
Would like to see the Braves give him a run or two to maybe take a little pressure off and let the kid throw.
Loaf Garrett doing some hustling..
wow GA the speedster lol
Look at Loaf go.
Loaf Finally Hustling, even though It didn’t look like it
Look at the old man busting down the line!
Loaf made that close.
Shut up, Joe.
Good play by Edgar, but not exactly Yunel-ish with the throw. GA on his horse, beats one out.
First pitch swing,shocker
May 26th, 200910:35 pm
Francœur lines out to left on the first pitch. He put a good swing on it.
I’m tired of hearing that man play up Frenchy making decent contact with a baseball.
I don’t think Francoeur would take a first pitch if you paid him to.
I can throw any pitch to jeff francoeur he will get himself out after one pitch.
Well here we go again, first Kelly can’t take a damn pitch, and that doofass Stenchcouer cant either….
LOL love the slow mo on Jeff’s face. The expression went from YES! to defeat in 0.2 seconds.
Tip o' the cap
To Frenchy from Tim for the one pitch out.
man, i’m 36 and I never felt old until I joined this blog lol
May 26th, 200910:36 pm
Outs are innevitable…but make it productive out atleast please.
THAT would be a classic. Photo of Randy Johnson standing w/Medlen. I hope you’ve got a camera.
Dora the Explora..woot woot
I sure hope the braves front office has learned their lesson the last couple of years and decide not to trade the farm (at least none of the top 5 prospects in the system) to try and get an outfield bat. As bad as we need one, I don’t want to have to watch the prospects the send out turn it to great players for other teams like the package of players with the rangers that were sent there in the tex trade.
Diory hustles out a GIDP. Turn those four pitchers spots in a row over.
All day baby. All day.
Loaf just pulled a Chipper Jones on that DP ball. He just made a U-turn about half way to second.
Meanwhile, Diory legs one out.
here comes a strike out…
May 26th, 200910:37 pm
Good thing it was a high-chopper. GA certainly wasn’t gonna try and take anybody out of the DP.
Oh. Its jordan schafer. Easy K
Garret, at least make him go around you. If not, then wait and duck. Maybe?
That really was a solid swing from Frenchy. I’m usually all over Frenchy for swinging at the first pitch but that was a solid attempt.
At leas Diory beat it out at first so we can clear Schafer this inning.
May 26th, 200910:38 pm
Timmy doesn’t have pinpoint control this year like he did last year.
Way to not try and break up the double play, Garrett. Bench him immediately. His lackadasical attitude in the field and on the basepaths irks me.
I stand corrected
Schafer singles. Get those four pitchers spot out of the way.
Wake up Schafer haters!
May 26th, 200910:39 pm
well hot dam
3 balls to Schafer?! Someone didn’t do his homework.
Nice AB there, take note Frenchy.
“I’ll be treading lightly, but I felt like I could go out there and, you know, play,” he said.
Look, I know Chipper is from Deland — even if he went to, ahem, The Bolles School — but what else could he do if he, you know, went out there to play? Stand there and let the pigeons crap on him?
Nice AB, Schafer. Let that be the start of something.
GA is about worthless…way to make an effort out there on the basepaths
I love that Medlen is a switch hitter
Rob from SC
Yeah, ole Loaf looks like he’s afraid to sacrifice his body or something.
May 26th, 200910:40 pm
Damn Schafer, how could you not strike out against Lincecum?
Nobody scores on me tonight!
Medlen strikes out swinging.
Quit hatin’ on Loaf.
May 26th, 200910:42 pm
the tales of old are true, that JS can actually hit a baseball..
I received a copy of the phone conversation transcript between Ken Rosenthal and the unnamed GM which prompted him to write that the Red Sox are eyeing Francoeur:
Rosenthal: Hi there, Mr. GM. What can you tell me about the market for Francoeur?
GM: Well, Ken, as you most probably know, there isn’t much of one. For some reason, Dayton Moore still loves him. I don’t know why.
Rosenthal: Come on, Mr. GM. Tell me something everyone doesn’t already know.
GM: That’s pretty much all I know, Ken. No team in their right mind really wants him.
Rosenthal: Can’t you give me ANYTHING?
GM: Well, this isn’t real news, but you might find it entertaining. At one point, the Red Sox actually looked at bringing Francoeur in. Can you imagine? I mean, talk about a player completely opposite their philosophy.
Rosenthal: I’ll go with that.
Francoeur might have 2 months, max. left with the Braves.
We can stop calling him “Frenchy” (ugh) now, it’ll make the transition easier.
Lincecum wasn’t exactly dazzling that first time through the order. He’d better pick things up or we’re going to tee off against him tonight.
GA stopping on that dp attempt totally represents his effort level all year imo. don’t dive for balls or get your uni dirty.
May 26th, 200910:43 pm
did anyone see Medlen pitch at AAA. If so, what is he doing differently here
I guarantee 10 k’s today.
We have a no hitter !!!
So it’s ok to post spam here now?
Medlen wears size 6 shoes.
May 26th, 200910:44 pm
Medlen strikes out Lewis swinging on a change up. Kid’s control looks to be getting better.
May 26th, 200910:45 pm
As bad as Schafer has been, B.J. Upton has arguably been even worse. And considering how good Upton was last season and in the postseason, that’s just shocking to me. I thought he was ready to burst on the scene as the next superstar, the way he looked in the postseason.
Before today, Upton was hitting .197 with two homers, nine RBI, a .291 OBP and a .291 slugging percentage, with 52 strikeouts in 165 at-bats. Only thing he was doing better than Schafer was stealing bases (Upton had 14).
Hey DOB , Just got back to the blog and am still laughing about KELLY LEAK. LOL
Ishikawa gets a hit.
Can’t miss in the middle of the plate in the Show kid…
Ho-Hum, way to groove a fastball there kid, and Why does Medlin look like he’s going to cry every time he delivers a pitch???
May 26th, 200910:46 pm
PWHjort, I don’t think it’s so much that Jeff is struggling why people gag at the thoguht of Frenchy as much as it’s people’s perception that the kid is so dang stubborn. He’s obviously giving that off to more than just us Braves fans. That whining he did last year after having to go to the minors definitely didn’t help.
That dork Lincecum should be sent down for that stupid looking mullet of his alone.
You are just mad because everyone in the league says braves pitchers are living up to the hype !! And guess what ?!! That’s without Hudson, Hanson and Glavine !! They are coming baby to a show near you !!!
May 26th, 200910:47 pm
Randy Johnson is the stunt double for Buford the Buzzard!!!
Travis Ishikawa is 火に (en fuego).
May 26th, 200910:48 pm
Uribe flies out to the warning track in right.
Medlen’s curve looks Naaasssssssty, but he needs to put some movement on that fastball, they are getting some good hacks at it just sitting there.
May 26th, 200910:49 pm
Are you referring to me with the spam comment?
Man That Nook Saved Us a run
DOB, you think Medlin may have been trying to deke you out with those curve balls in the dirt during warmups? His curves are actually pretty sharp.
Good bounce for Jeff or that’s a run.
Double. 2nd and 3rd, two out. Lucky bounce for the Braves, as the ball bounced right to Francœur.
May 26th, 200910:50 pm
Oh!!!Good Lord, Please throw strikes kid!!!! don’t make me go hatin on you too!!!
The Magic just nailed their 14th 3-pointer of the night. Sheesh.
Come On Kris…!
May 26th, 200910:51 pm
Jerald, I was in the pressbox watching (the bullpen is that close here, on the field in foul territory). So, no, he wasn’t trying to “deke” me.
Do not walk Kelly Do not walk Kelly…..doh!
Medlen’s done folks.
Medlen couldn’t hit a barn right now.
great…walk the pitcher to load the bases
And “the wheels come off the cart”…
He doesn’t have the head to pitch here
May 26th, 200910:52 pm
Your pitcher is scared of me. And he should be
UGH! Walk the pitcher. WHY THE H*LL ISN’T CHIPPER OR BRIAN OUT THERE CALMING HIM DOWN!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
