Oh yeah, uh-huh…the guy hops in front of McCann, the ball gets to the base but the tag is late, Vaz threw to second instead of first…yeah, McCann sooo blew that inning…

On the plus side, his AVG is .319, and his AVG with RISP is .348! 18 RBI, now. Whoo-hoo!

Alright… I’ve been a Francouer defender, but after showing signs of righting the ship lately, I’ve been very unimpressed the last couple days. If he doesn’t turn it around here within the next couple weeks, it’ll be time to part ways.

The slow-mo of that swing by Francoeur looked bad. Doing all kinds of little things, mixing and matching from his old approach and what was supposed to be his new. Not good….

Meanwhile, on McCann: He was 2-for-20 against lefties before he went on the DL. He’s 6-for-16 against them since he came off DL.

I called at least one run via bases loaded walk. There it is!

(OK, my 0-0 tie prediction was garbage.)

TnBrian

I can’t imagine what Frenchy feels like inside, but that at bat was unexcusable! Unreal! Just put wood on the baseball and go from there. Nope, not Jeff…gotta try and ambush the pitcher on the first pitch.

Jordan and Frenchy both trying to hit the ball in the water and what happens…they strike out. Wow, what a waste.

David O'Brien

May 25th, 2009

When you load bases with none out, you don’t really want Francoeur and Schafer to be two of the next four guys coming up.

Schafer and Francoer costing the team here.

BravesFanChris24

May 25th, 2009

Chipper Jones

May 25th, 2009
5:59 pm

Logan, you dig my scouting report?????

Mr. Enigma

May 25th, 2009
5:59 pm

Can the Braves get a special DH rule so that Jordan Schafer never has to hit ever again? He is seriously terrible. At this point, his hitting to so awful, I’d trade in his defense for a mediocre defender who didn’t suck as bad as he does with the bat.

cricket

May 25th, 2009
5:59 pm

Well, Logan is still better than JF with bases juiced. He’s not going to GIDP, can’t make contact to save his life..

JJ

May 25th, 2009

Oy…Shaf. The two swinging strikes weren’t anywhere near the zone. Not good indeed.

as much as I hate to admit it, JS is totally over matched and would benefit from going down to Triple A… how long do they let this go on…

Jim Hertel

May 25th, 2009
6:00 pm

JeffF actually had a good at bat, for him. At least he didn’t hit into a double play.

Chop Chop

May 25th, 2009
6:00 pm

How was that inning a waste? The Braves got two runs back after the Giants scored three. They gave us two runs, folks. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Teams have been giving us gifts all year. Last season, we get a strikeout and a double play in that situation. Open your eyes. I don’t think this team is great, but if teams are going to keep helping us out, we’re going to be in this all year.

MP31

May 25th, 2009
6:00 pm

on gameday it shows that he swung at three balls to strike out. is that true?

McFann :Ô:

May 25th, 2009

DOB Meanwhile, on McCann: He was 2-for-20 against lefties before he went on the DL. He’s 6-for-16 against them since he came off DL.

DirtyYuni

Well the table couldn’t have been set any better for the bottom half of the order. And, surprise surprise, Kotchman’s the only one who delivers. Too bad.

Frenchy and Schafer are good for 8-10 easy outs a game right now.

DOB-arent Francour and Schaffer major league players according to our beloved manager, I thought so. So dont make excuses, just say the SUCK.

abwright

May 25th, 2009
6:01 pm

Not to give Francœur and Schafer a pass for those miserable ABs, but, had Javy thrown to first on the bunt, the Braves would be leading 2-1.

Had the home plate umpire called interference on Molina, the Braves would be leading 2-0.

This suck-fest is a team effort, umpires included.

Mr. Enigma

May 25th, 2009
6:02 pm

@MP31

Yes. None of Schafer’s three strikes were anywhere close to the zone. He’s one of the worst Major League hitters I’ve ever seen. Even 2007 Andruw didn’t look this clueless.

Well, Braves got the two runs back the Umps cost them ~_~

Steve from OH

May 25th, 2009
6:02 pm

braveshater, I don’t know who “Schaffer” is, but he may very well be a bum. Tool.

KC

May 25th, 2009
6:03 pm

That’s where we could see the injuries REALLY hurt us. We already have Chipper out, but trading Escobar’s bat for D.Hernandez’s bat is a big loss.

And… I like Jordan Schafer, and he does have a lot of talent. But while we’re out shopping for a corner outfielder, we might need to look into a stopgap to get us to Gorkys Hernandez. Schafer looks completely out of place in the big league batter’s box right now. He looks so bad that I’m not so sure this kid’s ever going to be a true big leaguer. Maybe I’m wrong, and I hope I am. But we don’t need another Ryan Langerhanz.

We’re probably not going to be able to get TWO impact bats without giving up half our farm system… but a one big corner outfield bat, plus a Mark Kotsay type (not Kostay… just some kind of healthy version of him) would be fine.

Tomahawkin

May 25th, 2009
6:03 pm

That’s It Send Fcking K-FER down To AAA….I could understand if he was stealing bases in the 8th spot, but Bobby won’t even let him do that…Bring up B. Jones…! He Can’t do no worse than K-Fer…!

Seriously I’m gonna to be Throwing Shyt at the TV if K-Fer is still up there in August Playing like he is when it matters…

cricket

May 25th, 2009
6:03 pm

Bobby should seriously consider squeeze with JF and Logan hitting with runner on 3rd

abwright

May 25th, 2009
6:03 pm

MP31, 6:00 pm…”on gameday it shows that he swung at three balls to strike out. is that true?”

Four balls waaaay out of the strike zone were thrown to Schafer. He swung wildly at three of them.

Tommy D

May 25th, 2009
6:03 pm

He did SO on three balls!
