TNJeff, 4:21 pm…”When was the last time the Braves were 3 games over 500?”
Braves started this season 5-1. They proceeded to lose three to the Marlins and drop out of first place (5-4). They haven’t been so many games above .500 or in first place since.
I Give a Big Shoutout to O’Flaherty and J. Bennett (For Once) for Pitching Tough! That Inning changed the momentum and the outcome of the game, even though it will be overlooked in the boxscore
It’s likely my fault guys. I thought I jacked it so much that it would be obvious, but remembering some of the incredibly stupid things said here in any situation, I guess I really didn’t hype it enough. Sorry.
Prado just saved Blow-costa’s bacon with a nice double play. Picked the ball near third base, tagged the bag, and threw across to first to nip the runner.
Acosta was staring an infinite ERA in the face (runs and no outs).
Love that Arby’s commercial (especially after a Braves SWEEP!!), that woman has legs up to her…………………well, her butt!! But dang they are looooonnnnngggggg!!
Tex grounds into a double play. Just like the Texeira of old. Intentional BB to A-rod, and now runners at the corners two out for Ramiro Peña who flies out to end the inning.
Typical Tex there, guy seldom gets the big hit in the big situation. Very good player, puts up numbers, but will never be GREAT until he starts coming through in big situations more often.
After chewing on his performance last night, today Diory came to the plate and got his first hit in the majors. For the first time he was not smacking that chewing gum while batting. Instead, he had a big wad of tobacco tucked right there in his cheek. Must’ve read the blog and converted. This CGWB story is about to explode bigger than the steroids and corked bats. MLB will never be the same. Sell your stock in Wrigley’s and Tops, this chewing gum bubble is about to pop. It won’t be pretty.
What a strange, exhilarating game. Chipper, Escobar and Infante are out of the lineup. We go up against the A.L.East division leading Blue Jays and sweep them right out the door.
I’ll take it. Now the Braves get to fly cross country and face the Giants. Who by the way are having their own problems scoring runs.
The Blue Jays came in and struggled just like they did in Boston. They couldn’t drive in runs when they had a chance. We’ll take it. I hope they finish third (ahead of the Yanks). Other than that, they can pi$$ off and die. They sucked it hard this weekend.
Even though they have a good record right now I think it likely that the Jays will end up 4th in their division.
Lots of Braves hitters have been slumping on and off seems like a few are waking up. All it takes is a few at any given time.
Diory can hit ok, but has never been consistent on defense for some reason.
Schafer is looking some better even though his BA isn’t going up yet.
Francy is coming around again. Maybe he can stay decent enough to be a help.
