Good job, Eric O. Need one more of those.
Im calling it now, Grand Slam….
May 24th, 20093:42 pm
Oy…time for the heart medicine. Here comes Bennett.
Yes!!!! Good K.
Jeff Bennett Coming in Not Good…
This Will be Bobby’s” Dumb A..s Move of the day! “Bank On It!” He should’ve left Eric out there…
Please tell me i’m not seeing what I think i’m seeing. Bennet comin gin with bases loaded?
WHY IS BENNETT COMING ON, WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!?! COX, YOU COST US THE GAME!!!!
TnBrian(taking DOB's spot today)
If Bennett struggles here, I’m definitely gonna have to write up a new blog since we’ll be at page 15 in less than an hour. You know, people bashing Cox’s decision to take out O’Flaherty and all…
BravesFan InRockies (ex-BFIR)
Think I’ll go read a good book.
Bennet’s track record w/ the bases loaded…yikes!!!
Not the lefty-righty BS again. I’m soooo sick of good relief pitchers getting pulled because somebody of the opposite handedness comes up to bat.
Bennett’s opponents batting average is sky high. WHO CARES if it’s left or right, I don’t want Bennett in here (even if he succeeds.)
I am predicting right now. Bobby will regret taking out OFlay. Bennett will give up the game. Bobby makes some of the most retarded decisions with LH pitchers out of the pen sometimes.
i’m just a baseball fan but why bennet??? LOL is just really funny. what an idiot.lol cox is just REALLY stupid.WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOWWWWWW.
May 24th, 20093:43 pm
shoot, I need to take a pill.
Will Ohman Is Missed
This is where we miss Ohman. With Ohman you don’t have to take him out in this situation, but with O’Flaherty, he can only be used on a very limited basis.
WTF this guy is walking machine with the bases loaded. and when he does throw strikes guys are hitting .400 against him
Hope Bennett makes me eat my words – But i think Bobby just gave the game away
Cox is an absolute frigging fool to bring Bennett in, but we already know that.
WAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLKKKKKK. WHO WANTS TO BET….!!!!!!!!
Bobby sure trusts Bennett. Scary!
Can someone explain WHY O’Fla is out and give-it-up Bennett is in???
May 24th, 20093:44 pm
dude, oflearety(sp?) looked pissed when he was being pulled…..and i dont blame him. i dont care what bennett does right here they should have kept him in. bobby worries too much about the lefty righty matchup.
COX IS A GENIUS
of course, I’ll give Jeff credit if he gets Bautista out. Well, good for Frenchy, then.
Relax guys, he’s playing the righty vs. righty odds. Looks like it worked out.
So he’s fixed his “mechanical” problems. Cool. I can dig it since he just got out of bases loaded jam.
I didn’t look up Rios’ numbers Braveheart…he, specifically may not be “the guy” but, you the point everyone is making against you is still valid…an outfield of GA, JF, and JS right now is just not getting it done offensively. JS is not going anywhere…so, that leaves us to “tinker” with the corner guys. Pitching is indeed doing well enough to win…our offense…well, often is not.
May 24th, 20093:45 pm
lol@Cox is a Genius
Bennett Defied The Odds! Lovely…
From now On Bobby Don’t Put Moylan in the 7th with the game on the line!
Offense Come On score some damn runs!
Don’t care that it worked, that was STILL dumb.
wow I bet bennett keeps that ball and puts it in his very tiny trophy case.
May 24th, 20093:46 pm
GOOD…chances are good that I won’t have to write up a new blog after all. Makes me happy since I can go search for some underground 70’s music…gives me more time to do my own thing, you know?
Bennett blows! Oh wait…uh, go Jeff!
Two days in a row that the bullpen has bailed out the bullpen.
Jeff Bennett??? Cox brings in Bennett at a pivotal point in the game?
Take a deep breath!
chomp chomp chomp – WTG Bennett
And that’s why players love playing for Bobby…
May 24th, 20093:47 pm
Toronto must really suck if they let Bennett get them out. Eat a carrot Cox. You need to lose a few lbs you fat %*(%*$&$&.
Okay…I am glad i was dead wrong. Thats why no one pays me for predictions.
May 24th, 20093:49 pm
PLEASE, for the love of God, someone turn off “Country Boy” during the Stretch. I am surprised their aren’t more ballpark defenestrations — death seems preferable to listening to that song over and over … and over …
May 24th, 20093:50 pm
Folks if that sounds like bulls**t to you, that’s because it is. No made up mathematical equation can predict the future, much less how some unknown player is going to play after switching teams. This is all stuff people like to “get into” so they can pretend they know more than the poor dumb slobs that don’t believe. (ANONYMOUS NAME CHANGER AFRAID TO SHOW WHO HE IS)
Okay, we’ll just go with the flawed traditional analysis of R+RBI-HR. Frenchy, in his worst season last season, hit 11 homers, drove in 71, scored 70. R+RBI-HR then was 130. An All Star bat that you are clamoring for likely would have gone 110 RBIs, 100 runs, 25 homers. Runs+RBIs-HRs is 185. 55 run difference between that All Star bat and Frenchy last season. 55/162 is .33 runs a game. A one run every 3 games difference. Does that make things easier for you to comprehend? Or do you want just stick to your just because logic?
May 24th, 20093:51 pm
I love how Prado’s slugging percentage is mentioned as the team leader even though he only has 50-something ABs.
Prado playing 162 games would not out-slug McCann or Chipper.
where the @##@ was that last at bat? geez
concerned braves fan
There aren’t going to be any big trades folks. This is the same mentality that just had to make a trade back in 2007 that lead us to go get Tex. Now we never here the end of what we had to give up to get that bat. And if the Braves couldn’t outbid for Abreu, how in the world are they going to afford some super bat? Can someone explain that part to me please?
Dammit Jeff, We Needed That Swing When runners were at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out in the Fourth…You Owe Us
Diory Is Due, Come On!
May 24th, 20093:52 pm
Eat a carrot Cox. You need to lose a few lbs you fat %*(%*$&$&.
Well aren’t you pleasant. How much deeper can the irrational Cox hatred here go? Seems next in line is the ol’ “I wish he’d died of such-and-such” comment.
Get a grip some of you.
Steve from OH
Let’s see…which argument carries more weight? The one that is backed up by empirical evidence or the one which contains “you’re a retard” in it? Braveheart’s point is that adding Cain would make our team better, no matter which way you slice it. Can’t disagree with that, can you?
P.S. Charlie Morton is NOT a #3 starter at this point in time, bud.
We Need K-FER to Do Something! Come On Logan!!!
Is Schafer really going to hit here? hopeless
May 24th, 20093:53 pm
Congrats to you Diory!
Okay, we’ll just go with the flawed traditional analysis of R+RBI-HR.
Right, like we’re supposed to be stupid enough to believe that the crap like you just laid down doesn’t have any “flaws”. Beware snake oil salesmen and their curealls!
Pitch hit Diaz!!!
May 24th, 20093:54 pm
But, Prado would play better defense than Chipper.
Joe Simpson talks about Schefer like my little league coach
if not strike out, the chiper double play.lol
Abreu was not wanted even for garret money
I’m sensing something BIG here from Jordan!
Okay, concerned Braves Fan, what are those flaws and how would you choose to analyze the sitation? Or are you just saying “flaws” because they don’t agree with what you think?
May 24th, 20093:55 pm
Swing it this next pithc and you should get demoted to A level.
they going to attack schafer, they now schafer is scared and going to wait for a walk
fastballl all the way
May 24th, 20093:56 pm
Please no double play.
Maybe. But a team would still win more games with Chipper at third than Prado.
Good Eye K-FER…We Gotta Get One Here, Please No DPS!!!
Can I get an amen on a grand slam here? Would that not be the best way to see Chipper get in this game?
May 24th, 20093:57 pm
Steve from OH, still can’t really believe what I saw last night. Pens are red hot, hopefully they can close it out in 4.
Ok, now this is where Chipper better step up and be the team leader. Bases loaded only one out. Gotta have a run here. Come on Chipper!!!
whats the statistacal analysis for this at bat by chipper, while the pitching change is going on
Maybe. But a team would still win more games with Chipper at third than Prado.
No argument from me on that point.
To me it looked like they were “pitching around” Schafer right there….course’…I’ve downed a few adult beverages this afternoon so….
May 24th, 20093:58 pm
Yeah Efrim, I was impressed. Evgeni Malkin is amazing. Oh, and can you believe Havlat is playing today? Tough guy…
If the Wings pull it off today w/o Lidstrom or Datsyuk you can close the book on the ‘Hawks.
I’d rather see Diaz here pinch hitting fwiw. Chipper’s hurt.
Chipper would have a higher probability of getting a hit if he were hitting .334.
May 24th, 20093:59 pm
Aight “Hoss” Lets Get Nasty…This is where Our Leader Needs To Earn His Do…And Earn His Paycheck…
Hoss Come On!!!!
To me it looked like they were “pitching around” Schafer right there
Yes, because they want to pitch to Chipper with the bases loaded…whatever you’re drinking, my friend, it must be some good stuff
Man, lotta Jeff Bennett hating today. As opposed to yesterday or the day before or tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
Far be it from me to tell anyone not to talk %$#@ about whatever they see fit to talk &%$# about but calm down people.
I too was terrified when I saw Bennett come in but mostly because the bases were loaded and even the late Will Ohman or Soriano or anybody could have given up a hit or a walk in that situation but he got out of it. Give him credit. That was huge.
He also came back the day after he walked in the winning run in New York and pitched two innings.
This is a big game. We gotta win this one. So far everybody’s been doing their part in this series. No need to be pessimistic.
Wait a second. Why is Chipper pinch hitting? He said himself he can’t ****ing run. If he hits the ball on the ground it’s a double play easily.
I don’t like this.
Very impressive hit by Chipper.
May 24th, 20094:00 pm
Well, that’s not too bad. No grand slam, but we’ll take it for the run.
Frank from KS
Boston just took a 6-5 lead over the Mets, going to the top of the 6th.
Dr. Van Nostrand
What’s w/all the love for Matt Cain? Guy has very sketchy control and xERA of 4.67 in 2007 (4.80 xERA in 2008 and 5.01 xERA this year). He has a lot of raw talent, but his shaky control and VERY high workload for a 24 year old (roughly 607 IP over the last 3 years) scare me quite a bit. I’d pass on him.
Good one, Braves Paisan!
BTW–really like your moniker. You and “Heavy Medlen” are my favorites…
There We Go Chipper!!! How Da Hell did we not Score 2 With the Ourfield Blunder…Only this Slow A..s Braves team can do that!
Thanks, Dr. Scholls!
May 24th, 20094:01 pm
That should be an error it was right to him lol this is the big leagues.
OK Braveheart you win… ATL is an offensive juggernaut and the only way to improve the team is trade some of our outstanding hitting for better pitching. What was I and the rest of the world thinking? We’re certifiable dummies.
who needs Infante
Nice play Overbay.
Hey, that ryhmes.
Here’s a granny from my boy KJ.
We actually got very lucky there but then so did the Jays.
