Geez Braves. When you have an employee that is a good guy, gets along with other employees, is very capable of doing the job, and is willing to work for you for his entire work career, why kick him to the curb if you have not done everything possible to correct what he is doing wrong? The Atlanta public, who pays to see the games by the way, loves the kid. His hitting is suffering, no doubt. Get him a hitting coach, that knows how to teach and correct problems. Pendleton is not the guy. Pay the Texas Ranger's hitting coach whatever he wants and bring him to Atlanta. Every current Brave will benefit from having him on board. I watched the Ranger's play the Yankees last night, and both Andruw and Salty looked like new players at the plate. The Braves gave up on both, same as they have other players. You have to change coaches at times when the current guy's methods are not working. Tiger Woods knew he needed a change several years ago, and left one of the most popular coaches in the sport because he knew it was the right thing to do. Yo Braves - wake up and get the right teacher on board. If you get rid of Frenchy and bring up Heyward, he'll have the same hitting problems in no time. How many young guys do you want to lose to other teams?

Last comment - is there something else going on here? Was Frenchy too close to Smoltzie, which put him on an unofficial "black list"? I hope this is just my imagination. Smoltz had been outspoken in the past about the Braves management, which probably is the reason Schurholtz pushed him out the door. Wren is the guy the public sees and hears, but I'm thinking Schurholtz is still the guy pulling all the strings. If he does not like you, you're gone. The Red Sox being interested in Frenchy is probably in part due to Smoltz being there - I'm sure he's told Sox management that Frenchy is a good kid, who is capable of doing really good things in the right environment. Cox is a great manager, the best in the game in my opinion. He just might be loyal to a fault with Pendleton. Keep TP in the organization, just make a hitting coach change Braves.

to watch big tex and frenchy at the plate is like night and day, frenchy swings at pitches that big tex takes, that's why big tex can drive the ball and frenchy can't, frenchy swings at the pitcher's pitch, big tex waits for his pitch

and as i said yesterday, the argument can be made that he has more power potential than anyone on the braves except for chipper and mccann. its worth looking into for a small price. (DAP)

gotta disagree with that one big time. He had three years in double figures in two of the best hitting parks in baseball. That is not likely to mean he's gonna hit more than a dozen in Atlanta. probably not even that. No way to be sure beforehand of course, but his power totals in other parks than texas and Chitown are pretty paltry. I definitely would not give up anything worth having for the guy, especially any promising pitching which is what Cleveland seems to be looking for. Just not worth it IMO. .240 with 2 out RISP and .250 late & close are nothing to write home about.

Right Pete, but she won't be there so its just the room I'm trying to protect. Plus, its an interior door in an apartment we don't own so we're not allowed to install a dead bolt or anything like that or use dynamite, as Chop Chop suggested lol.

RHR: Hey men! Help please?

I don’t know how to describe this really but does anyone know of something you can put in a door jam to prevent someone from popping a lock open with a credit card? My daughter is leaving her college apt for the summer and her roommates or any of their guests can (and will) just pop the lock on the door to her room with a credit card. She called and told me about someone that knows someone that knows someone that has something in their door to keep their roommates from doing that.
Forget all the lock plates, door jamb blocks, etc...this is your daughter, so install a double sided dead bolt lock. Period.
