Finally We take Advantage of the opposing team giving us extra outs to Play with…I give a big Shout out to Double J for making that inning happen…You can’t undermine speed…
Oh and BTW, that last half-inning was the loudest I’ve seen this crowd get in wweks
stupid and lazy
that would describe bobby cox
May 19th, 20097:55 pm
What’s your agenda?
Don’t know about Pete and Skips, but they have Bobby burgers!
Made from real donkey meat!
May 19th, 20097:56 pm
a good way to describe beowulf is stupid and lazy
I watch Firsttake and PTI is decent but other than that BSPN Has gone to the toilet as compared to 10 years ago…That Network is like MTV Sports…
LOAF, Come On!!! Hustle…!
May 19th, 20097:57 pm
“GA will jog over to that one” Chip
Sheesh, has G. Anderson ever met a ground ball to which he could actually cut off before it hits the wall?
Well that inning went well. Braves got some breaks they didn’t get last night. Really shouldn’t be anything to complain about to this point.
May 19th, 20097:58 pm
Oh Chip I thought Hammel and Hammels where related before that wise informative comment.
change your name, AJC sucks, and i’ll be nicer. How’s that?
kirkinga this is the AJC alot of people will complain on this blog
Yes Yogi was right, Jeff is a head case. lol I swear the broadcasters read our comments here. I mean, that was pretty much verified when they talked about sending text messages to Loaf in the dugout.
May 19th, 20097:59 pm
Oy….now there’s another JJ on here. Going to have to differientiate somehow I suppose.
stupid and aching
that would describe chipper jones
mets fan in atlanta
Atombomb, with apologies to jonatuga, no, Skip and Petes is no more. The barbecue place is still there, but it is not named Skip and Petes. It has more of a “corporate” name to it. I’m pretty sure they renamed the one on the Golden Moon level as well. I ordered a barbecue plate there a couple weeks ago, and it seemed like i noticed a name change there too.
Bo & Luke Duke
Francoeur should wear Billy Bob teeth every other at bat.
Just found out that they renamed Skip & Pete’s BBQ to the Smokehouse. That’s pretty crappy.
May 19th, 20098:00 pm
a good way to describe “ajcsucks” is
puerile and irrelevant
lol Carroll I am not worried about you!! No need to be nice… I have come in here under my real name and tried to chat with other bloggers and be nice no one would talk back… so thats why im here to get under people skin!!!
May 19th, 20098:01 pm
So I’m likin new lineup. Still wish it was Omar instead of Frenchy, but at least Esco is leading off. Now if only GA didn’t let everything not hit right at em get to the wall……
MFin04 (Bennett, Buddy, and Cox Have to Go!)
May 19th, 20098:02 pm
Chalk another run up for GA in left field, he is so darn slow anything hit to him is an automatic double.
May 19th, 20098:03 pm
2,000th career hit for Todd Helton and a polite applause from the fans here. classy
Congrats Todd Helton!
May 19th, 20098:04 pm
Todd Helton can thank Escobar for giving him a hit. So stupid, stop covering, hold your ground and its an easy out!!!!
have at it, my man. not typing your name again.
Now that the offense has gotten some runs for JJ, of course its gonna be on a night when he sucks.
May 19th, 20098:05 pm
Yeah..if it ain’t hit right at em, forget about it. Half the time he doesn’t even try to cut it off.
Congrats to Helton…but how is getting 2000 on a hit and run better than on a hot shot hit at someone?
May 19th, 20098:06 pm
Thanks LOAF For allowing the extra base…!
First Frenchy, Now Loaf Slacking off in the Outfield which led to runs given up…No passion at alll, WTF
Carroll its just a name u can type it!!!
May 19th, 20098:07 pm
Skip & Pete’s BBQ was replaced by Smokehouse BBQ this season.
May 19th, 20098:08 pm
Wow for someone who thinks it sucks, you sure are spending a lot of time on here.
May 19th, 20098:09 pm
Hey, and congrats to Jason Kendall! He got # 2,000 last night!
Dangit, that knocked BMac’s AVG down to .288. Kind of a rotten at bat…that one with the bases loaded. Guess you can’t hit ‘em all…at least we’re winning.
AVG with RISP is .300.
Oh sorry atabomb, didn’t mean to be redundant, I’m still catching up on the comments.
RHR shut-up no one asked you
Good, Maybe I woke Loaf up bytching on here….
Is it meaningful to mention that someone has a 7 game hitting streak…?
I guess its indicative of how bad our offense has been if the commentators get hyped over a 7 game hitting streak…
Macon Braves (RIP)
May 19th, 20098:10 pm
Carroll–That’s the only way to deal with idiots and Trolls, just ignore them…..they’ll eventually get mad that they can’t get a reaction and go elsewhere (or keep wasting their own time while being ignored)
It’s not just the team that’s keeping folks away. This economy is crushing lotsa dreams, here and everywhere else. Lotsa 2-worker households are down to one now too, making it hard to make ends meet. Most of us are fortunate, but I’m sure there are some here suffering financially. If that’s the case, I sincerely feel deeply for you.
Leave him away from the lead off spot please.
How bout that!
GA the gazzelle
GA and KJ are pathetic examples of baseball players (usually).
Look At It KJ is clowning since he got moved down in the order…And Loaf Is Hustling…
May 19th, 20098:11 pm
Beowolf….stupid and stupid that would describe you
What the hell? Don’t make me start thinking you CAN run.
garrett goes 1st to 3rd…..wowwwwwww
Is it Me or Has Francoeur Gotten slower Since 2005…?
May 19th, 20098:12 pm
This guy cant do anything right. Here comes a K.
RHR–I’ve told him before, since he gives the AJC so many page hits, that he should change his name to “AJC Supporter”.
Francoeur is hopeless. Doesn’t matter where you bat him.
what did frenchy just do?
First inning K w RISP for Chipper. Loudmouthed do-nothing.
i can get to first faster than frency
May 19th, 20098:13 pm
How can you suck at so many things Francouer?
i like blogging with third graders
May 19th, 20098:14 pm
took me a while to catch up on the game, then the blog…
Yeah, another quake, although a minor one- the biggest problem with being in a downtown high rise during a quake is that they are designed to roll instead of shake…and even with a short quake, it typically takes a few minutes for the building to fully settle- not a good feeling (think boat on waves) Oh, well
Anyways on to the game- looking much better then last night, although that’s not saying much…new lineup seems to be working so far
frenchy is heading below .240 by the end of the night
how low will he go?
Somebody call Chris Hanson.
Hey! Other JJ…stop that! You can be JJ 2.
May 19th, 20098:15 pm
Excellent at bat by Schafer!
OMG he didnt strike out
About Time Logan!!!! Yeaaahhh!!!
Steve from OH
May 19th, 20098:16 pm
Ha, Patrick Kane used to play for Detroit Honeybaked? I used to play against them! Different time though…
The Braves scored 6 runs? Am I watching ESPN Classic?
Times are hard for sure, Shamus, damn hard time to have a kid in college but I will say it is a lot better than it was when I was shelling out around $200 per week to keep gas in 3 vehicles. But because of how hard it was for everyone during that time and all the mortgages and credit card companies taking a hit it is a nightmare trying to get student loans for this fall. All the Mac and Mae low interest loans are a thing of the past, they’re not even offering the Sallie Mae loans for this fall.
Enough of that depressing crap.
WAY TO GO, K’FER!
Is Jeffy the only one without a hit now?
Bobby should blog more often…
Someone needs to inform Chip that that was a “productive at bat”, not Schafer’s first one.
May 19th, 20098:17 pm
Here’s a thang about the Rome Braves 6-game streak into first-place.
Their pitching has been nothing less than amazing. 30-consecutive scoreless innings at one point.
Yeaah…! We Got This Game In the Bag!!! If the Blow-Pen F..cks It up I’m gonna lose it…
Frenchy hit a rope to the third baseman who made a great play to stop it. Then, he made a terrific throw to get Frenchy at first. Schafer or KJ would have beaten it out, but Frenchy was hustling down the line.
Schafer bloops a 2 run single to RF to pick Frenchy up.
On a passed ball, Schafer takes third.
Thinking it might be time to give up on Failcoeur.
May 19th, 20098:18 pm
LOL take him out, K’fer!
If it was just a bit deeper, he’d have it.
like to see that aggressiveness from the kid, even though he was out
May 19th, 20098:19 pm
Furman Bisher could use a trip to Rome…
Only The Braves Can F…ck Up an attempt at a Blatent bulldoze play at the plate, That was embarassing…You might see some Retialation on the Rockies Part
JJ hits a fly ball, but Fowler throws Schafer out at the plate by plenty.
Maybe the Braves could trade pitching for Fowler?
May 19th, 20098:20 pm
no, Chipper doesn’t have a hit either. bases loaded walk
Why did he send Logan? That ball did not look deep enough. Anyway, looks like JJJ has better idea than JF of what needs to be done to get a runner in from 3rd with less than 2 outs i.e. hit the ball towards the right side of the field.
Hey Carroll, Were there a bunch of empty Red Bull cans in the clubhouse before the game today, or what?
Rob in Mobile
abwright, Fowler is the Rockies number one prospect. He’s not going anywhere….
May 19th, 20098:21 pm
When the crowd applauded Helton on the 2000th hit, it sounded more like golf gallery.
Boog-for the love of god get back here!
don’t worry braves will revert to hitless wonders in there next 2 games
May 19th, 20098:22 pm
I have to admit, I was an advocate for Chip, but you is really and truly on the cutting edge of Dorkdom!
Steve from OH, it’d be nice to see Jeff Locke string together some strong starts…….
Very good Game 2, so far.
Meant he is on the cutting edge…ratz, can’t type.
May 19th, 20098:23 pm
This blogging thing is great to pass time during a game!
Oh thats right, Carroll. I forgot about him.
So far so good I think. Things look a bit brighter today and I’m encouraged by the Braves response to yesterday’s fiasco, so far.
LOL at your 8:21 post…
Good thing Mcann can hit. Jeez.
