Larry finally joins the hit brigade.
Chipper got his hit finally.
May 19th, 20099:15 pm
Braves had 13 rounds to draft Dexter Fowler and didn’t. He obviously told a lot of teams he was requesting huge dollars, because he signed for a ridiculous amount at round 14.
How do we miss on a guy for 13 rounds that was a stud in the metro ATL area, not to mention he’s a great character guy?
I might be a little biased since he went to elementary school with me…
transferred to Milton instead of playing at Pope with us.
We beat Milton for the sub-region title at Milton, though.
He took 2nd on nearly every basehit to the OF, except for when he hit it to me
Dexter’s awesome, and it’s great to see him with this opportunity.
May 19th, 20099:17 pm
AAAAAAHG!!! What the devil…??
I bet u get a moose knuckle before your jeffy gets a hit.
May 19th, 20099:18 pm
1. Escobar hitting leadoff. Surprise.
2. Kotchman hitting second. Surprise.
3. Mac back in the 4 spot. Mild Surprise.
4. Kelly in the 6 hole. Surprise.
5. This lineup seemingly working and working well. Surprise.
6. Frenchy the only one remaining hitless, with 3 LOB. No surprise at all.
Overall, I’m surprise. And pleased. And JJ is it, man. Love this kid.
catie gets a moose knuckle? or camel toe?
May 19th, 20099:19 pm
GA – professional hitter!
Nice hit GA!
May 19th, 20099:20 pm
dirty yuni says surprise more often than gomer pyle
Uncle Phil called into the XM Radio talk show yesterday. He said his nephew, Lance, was progressing very well. According to Knucksie, every aspect of Lance’s pitching career, is right on target. Keep in mind, Phil may be slightly optimistic.
Experience a little aftershock, did you? Your swaying building made me flash on something that happened many years ago. I was on the observation deck, of the Empire State Bldg., with camera equipment. Had a big zoom lens on the camera, on a tripod, and was focusing on something near the ground, many miles off. I noticed that the object was swaying from side to side. After trying to figure out why this stationary object, on the ground was moving, it finally came to me. It was Me that was moving. I packed up my camera equipment, left the building and vowed, never to return again.
May 19th, 20099:22 pm
Doc I do like the lineup if Escobar can handle the leadoff position. It is hard for me to understand why where you hit should matter to a major league player but Kelly may be the exception.Kotchman I have always felt was a perfect 2 hitter.
Damn no bases loaded for guarantee out Jeff Francouer !!
Can anybody fill me in on what I’ve missed so far in this 7th of innings?
Chipper finally got a hit apparently. Anderson with a hit too? Impossible.
Kelly just misses the three run homerun I was about to predict he would hit.
You let me down for the last time Kelly Johnson.
May 19th, 20099:23 pm
I can see right now that I am going to have to come back on to the blog and start laying the smack down on some you negative, always bashing and complaining A$$CLOWNS !!!
I hate to keep saying it but if you have never played a day of professional baseball, actually gotten a check for it, stood in the box against a pitcher with fans in the stands watching, then you really have no idea what it is like and have absolutely ZERO credibility when it comes to bashing the Braves or Bobby or even the batboy.
Go to the fridge and grab another Milwaukee’s Best ( cuz cheap little buttheads like ya’ll don’t even buy Miller Lite) and kick you dog again when you walk by him to make yourself feel superior, drop your FAT A$$ back down on the couch and just SHUT IT — A’IGHT !!
Don’t make me have to teach you some manners ……………………
beowful picks an inane blog name and contributes absolutely nothing all night. tough to do.
May 19th, 20099:24 pm
Camel Toe Catie?
May 19th, 20099:25 pm
Good idea to keep Soriano sharp.
Oh ! I guess he told us !!!!
Steve from OH
Cody Johnson with another dinger for Myrtle tonight.
May 19th, 20099:26 pm
Not sure if it was an aftershock or…something else. I would prefer aftershock because “something else” is NOT a good thing
And I don’t drink !!!
Mrs. Catie Francouer
May 19th, 20099:27 pm
Mista moose knuckle, hush yowa nasty self. While I find a moose knuckle a repulsive thing for a fashion victim to show, I do think size mattas-I mean I like a big package.
Whatta’s up with that JJ on Peachtree TV? Is he a retard makin’ good or is he Urkel’s fat cousin?
Just got home wow look at KJ not at leadoff 3-4 does that scream I dont wanna leadoff or what.
May 19th, 20099:28 pm
Okay Billie Bob !!!!
rowdy roddy piper
shut the f**k up capt caveman. Go back to your cave before I bury you there like the many before you on Piper’s Pit.
Just me or anyone else get nervous when McCann K’s last two ABs? Hope nothing going on … Caroll ???
May 19th, 20099:29 pm
DOB: This is more of the same old movie, sorry but Franchy is not the kind of player that will carry a team to the world series, the Braves have to find another choice pretty soon!, they have given him a lot of time to fix his offensive problems and it hasn’t payoff, Bobby is also responsible because he keeps him and Schafer in the line-up everyday, like he did with Andrew. Another hitting coach will also help since as far as I know Pendelton hasn’t been able to fix anybody slump.
WE NEED TWO REAL OUTFILDERS!!, Period, meanwhile give a chance to Infante, sometimes I believe that Bobby is an Spy of the Mets or the Phillies. For how long, we the fans, have to watch this inability to address and solve the problems?
Braves Front Office: Make Bobby take right decisions or fire him, enough is enough.
Steve have you read what kind of fielder Cody is? Good with the glove I hope.
May 19th, 20099:30 pm
Chipper feels uncomfortable at the cleanup spot………..right?
Any wages placed on this first batter up ?!!
sorry i didn’t pick something as creative as dirtyyuni wow a masterpiece you probably get paid a lot of money to come up with product names
May 19th, 20099:31 pm
When the ground quakes, and the building you’re in is swaying from side to side, who cares what the hell they call it? Right?
clever. your wit is almost as sharp as your sword, beowful.
Where was that pitch!?
And Jeff makes the catch.
Seriously, the whole telling the Chophouse people before the commercial break to pretend to act like real fans, as opposed to premature but no doubt lifelong drunks, is getting old.
Just let them be to drink their youth away.
Oh who am I to knock alcohol consumption? It’s tops.
May 19th, 20099:32 pm
Hafta say, I’m kinda shocked he didn’t swing at that.
YES – maybe he’ll have to take a day or two off now
ververmil, 9:28 pm, “anyone else get nervous when McCann K’s last two ABs?”
McCann doubled on the first strike-out, but the umpire didn’t see it that way.
Peralta made Kotchman, McCann, and Anderson look silly on an off-speed pitch.
And Frenchy just gets nailed in the middle of the back near his shoulders. Just missed hitting him in the back of the head.
Listen here you superficial bitch, You shouldn’t make fun of the mentally challenged. Especially given the intelligence of your jeffy swinging at balls in the dirt or in the dugout.
if it’s not an aftershock, it is usually a “preshock” which means something bigger is coming…
carroll – still waiting here for the # of dob’s shrink
at the very least can you have the ajc advice columnist give me a call?
You tell him Rowdy ! You and your buddy Rick Flare ! Damn I lost money on that at bat ! What away to get on base !!
May 19th, 20099:33 pm
I mean, hey, if getting hit is the only way Frenchy can get on? Maybe he should stick to that. Doesn’t bother me.
Doc I think he is hitting 3rd, but I have read he doesn’t.
Jeffy, Jeffy Baby! Lawd have mercy. I just saw my bank account, I mean my life, pass before my eyes. Praise Jesus, Jeffy Baby and his package are alright.
Schafer’s hitting the ball pretty well tonight – let me go ahead and jinx him
May 19th, 20099:34 pm
I don’t know much about Catie’s camel toe. But, she definitely has phony hardware.
May 19th, 20099:35 pm
YEP – my bad…need to keep my mouth shut (giggidy)
has a fastball changed since Jordan schaffer got to the big leauges, I mean im just saying. The kid needs contacts or something.
Please don’t tell me Bobby’s going to have Gonzo pitch the 9th.
I bet he will but I hope he doesn’t.
A strike out from Schafer. Who saw that coming?
May 19th, 20099:37 pm
fastballs are faster than they used to be
everything is faster than it used to be
Average across the board, I think, but I read that he has a good work ethic and that he’s still learning the position…
May 19th, 20099:39 pm
A better person to ask would be ncscoots or nolie though, I think.
Did they annoucne the attendance yet?
Have you had any aftershocks since the original quake on Sunday?
I will be the next Otis Nixon. You just watch.
May 19th, 20099:40 pm
Thanks Steve I’m hoping he continues to progress, sure could use that big bat.
Ouch, Escobar just gets hit.
Ok I’m fine with hitting Jeffy, but lay off Yunel.
Where’d Yuni get plunked?
May 19th, 20099:41 pm
what you feel if you sit on the bench neary bobby
there were officially 3 but I only felt one, and it was more like driving over a speed bump then an actual quake
Oh No, We Need To Retialiate In the Top of the Inning, I’m Sick of Our hitters getting hit like this with no retialiation from our pitchers…
We Need to let the league know that we are not gonna put up tith this crap
Now, now, <CamelToe Splitter the twins are bought and paid for and oh so fine. I wish I could say theyas the real “McCoys” (pun intended), but I have not had any complaints from Jeffy Baby or any of the contractors at the house.
I say let the puppies breathe.
May 19th, 20099:42 pm
Second double of the night for Kotchman, eh.
yes the new line up worked!!!!!!
Krotchy! Krotchy! Krotchy!
The Krotch just makes the Rockies pay for hitting Frenchy and Yunel. Double scores two more.
There we Go Casey, Feast or Famine Offense…I’m loving this feast…!
guys that cop in the dugout keeps looking at me funny.
still think Prado’s better?
May 19th, 20099:44 pm
Yunel was hit on the left hand.
May 19th, 20099:45 pm
Kotchman tied for the league lead in doubles.
Yeah where are the Prado lovers?
May 19th, 20099:46 pm
From what I’ve seen tonight
1. Shafer has a very short quick swing. I like the idea of him adjusting to the majors. Just be patient.
2. Kotchman still looking good and I like the idea of him in the two spot.
3. Yunel batting leadoff… not so much. He’s never really had success there. He seems to focus too much on contact and often becomes more of a singles hitter (from what I remember anyway).
4. JJ is good, but we already knew that. Using the Slider more that often becomes more of a curve when it dips to 78 MPH.
5. Also a guest appearance on the blog by Rowdy Roddy Piper. Nice…
McFann…Mccann needs a night off…
Carroll, tell DOB next time he wants someone to speak for the team to interview Kotchman, he’s more of a leader of this team by example than Chipper
May 19th, 20099:47 pm
Not a problem, CB. I’m holding out hope that he can keep that OBP up too, because I don’t think there’s any doubt that he can absolutely mash…
I don’t get Gonzo in an 8 to 1 game. I know he was probably already warming but, even then, it was 6-1.
You bring in O’Flaherty and Moylan when it’s close, you bring in Soriano and Gonzo when it’s not?
Not complaining. Been a great game and I like the lineup shuffle. Just a little odd.
Gonzo in to pitch the ninth.
Who’s to say Prado wouldn’t have a good gamr too !
May 19th, 20099:48 pm
A good game !
<strongVervermil Just me or anyone else get nervous when McCann K’s last two ABs?
Not nervous–just disappointed.
And abwright’s right–he should’ve had a freaking double. But instead he struck out. That’s irritating–would have been beautiful if he’da doubled down the third baseline.
CT in AL
OMG the pollen count is 110!!!
oh and go Braves
Also, It was nice to catch The David Ross (D-Ross) Interview…I’m glad that he likes the Ol School Rap and doesn’t listen to that Pop-Tart Lil Wayne/Gay-Kon Garbage that fills the airwaves today…
Nuff Respect to D-Ross…!
We actually have some geographical faults, here, where I live, but nothing like you have in “Arnoldland” (I just made that up). Is it normal for a 4th aftershock? One that is close in strength to the original? If not, is that why you’re not sure what this one means?
Go Braves! I think I’ll have a drink on them, now. Where is my
Fooey…screwed up my last post.
May 19th, 20099:49 pm
David – Thanks buddy, but I don’t want to take all the credit for this lineup (even though this is what I proposed weeks ago). I merely propose suggestions, offer my keen observations and let the managerial staff take it from there. Here’s to a consecutive stretch of winning baseball in Atlanta!
That Mitchell guy called it at 9:35.
It’s Gonzo after all.
Geez, Mitchell, you really know your stuff.
Thanks. I guess so.
Seems like a waste to me for Gonzo. Why not give some of the others a chance?
Hot news flash Cox — Gonzo or Soriano won’t be here next year. You can take that to the bank. So, why not give some tryouts with a comfortable lead?
Gonzo hasn’t pitched in four days. I hope he doesn’t get into one of those 20 pitch innings and then tomorrow they need him in a real save situation.
May 19th, 20099:50 pm
You can just call me HotRod
May 19th, 20099:52 pm
Chip – please lay off the sauce until the game’s over Thank you.
If you’re out there anywhere (I know wherever you are, you’re “out there”), Buongiorno.
It happens every once in a while, but not usually so far away from the original- they typically get less and less strong the further away from the time of the original. After the Northridge quake, we had aftershocks for a week, and I remember one, about 4 days after, that was about a 5.1- but that’s not really normal (yes, that is why I am not sure what this was- and I am totally paranoid when it comes to earthquakes)
May 19th, 20099:53 pm
Reds have the tying run at second (1st and 2nd) with one out against Lidge and the Phillthies. Bottom of the ninth.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
