Alex Rodriguez has hit his 5th homerun in 33 at-bats this season, while nobody on the Braves has that many for the whole 2009 season thus far. Just sad.

DAP,

If Schafer strikes out too much and cannot hit in the second spot, then why is he starting. He is no Jeff Butler no matter how the Breaves try to package him. There are better players on the bench and in the minors. Seems like the Braves are trying to make a star out of a Triple A player. This will not sell any tickets. The product on the field is inferior and boring to the nth degree. In fact, the Phillies and the Mets are boring also. Thank goodness for the NBA Playoffs.

Efrim -

Bobby is not gonna say what he really feels to the media and he's not gonna call his players out in the media. That's why players like playing for him.

No link for the new blog.

No RH power hitter in the middle, Braves will be 81-81 give or take 3 games or so (79-83, 83-79 or 80-82)

OK, I promised to wait till Memorial Day before saying anything about Frenchy. But I lied.

Last 10 games, 5-for-38, 1 RBI, 1 2B, 1 BB, 9 K.

There. I said it.

"but every player that has ever played with him has said that Chipper knows more about the game than Bobby Cox himself!"

Dude, the moldy piece of pizza in the back of my refrigerator knows more about baseball than Bobby Cox does

Let's see - dead last in the NL in SB, about third from last in HR - and we're fretting over Peter Moylan?

This teams aches for some sort of shake-up. Two suggestions - play Infante for a week and see if he can maintain the pace he's on - or if we must play KJ, flip flop he and Escobar which would at least give KJ the advantage of a hole on the right side when Escobar is on base - which is often.

Been out of commission for a bit

Anyone talk about Cox's move to have an open bar on the plane ride home from the last road trip and then have van/buses awaiting the players to take them out clubbing all night to celebrate?

Team is playing like they're still hung-over! Perhaps Cox should hold off on the debauchery celebrations until after they really accomplish someting!
