Heath, I’ll give Drew some credit. He’s a good hitter who is going to pop off a few homers every onece in a while and his numbers this year are a little misleading.
But a bad pitch by Mike helped him out a bit

I think Gonzo is still working to regain his former form. He has also pitched alot lately. Plus, with a 1 run lead, all it takes is 1 mistake, just 1 pitch. Thats alot to ask of anyone…to be absolutely perfect on every pitch.

Story of my fantasy league. Gonzo does not get save which I am currently tied in, and the guy who destroys that save is Stephen Drew who rides the bench being absolutly worthless util he faces the braves and my closer.

It goes down in the books as a blown save for Gonzo, but the offense is the one that missed the chance to get add on runs. When is the last time we had a blowout win? Even that first game in New York he was forced to get up because Buddy was Shaky. Were winning but a lot of these are close games. These guys can’t pitch everday no matter what they say. I knew when we came into this ending with just a one run lead with either Gonzo or Soriano that the game had a chance to be tied. Diamondbacks only swing for homeruns and being down by one is the perfect chance to do that.

Probably a little unfair. Gonzo has had a surgery that I still dont think hes fully recovered from. He was at his best when he first came to Atlanta, but wasnt in the closer role.

again gonzales in to save a game and has the batter drew 1-2 and throws a changeup. and speeds his bat up and walaaa tie game.. what is wrong with those 2 . use ur stinkin fastball.. make um hit it. watch the braves lose this game. and a great pitching performance by vasquez wasted…… AGAIN. by the same guy..

Yunel got it done and that’s all that’s count.
Funny we’re not reading how “average” or “easily replaceable” he is anymore. I’m so glad that the Braves did not trade him this offseason. He’s got his flaws, but he brings a little umph to things even when he makes mistakes.

Denizens, I really am excited about the promotion of Medlen. The Braves obviously aren’t concerned about the arbitration clock and chose the man who they think gives them the best chance of winning. (Fred)
as to the arb clock, if they send him back down when Glav is ready after 20 days the MLB service time will end I believe. That would not surprise me if Glav actually comes back

speaking of Escobar and Fantasy baseball (the themes of the night), can anyone explain to me why his % ownership is so low. At least it is on ESPN.
I only participate in that stuff to fill out a league (and it does increase my knowledge of the rest of the league), but Esco is on my team, and I noticed his low ownership % and it surprised me a tad.

No, i think he should do what he’s been doing and that is whatever the situation calls for. We forget Soriano blew the save Wednesday. How about these guys may be just a little tired. All of our big three are coming off surgery and he has to be careful with them but they have been working a lot lately because of all these close games. He should stick to his situational closing. Good to have two guys who can do it.

there have been alot of articles recently on the braves pitching surplus and potential trades they might make. Anyone think Carl Crawford might be an option? The Rays pitching staff has sure looked quite bad and those SB’s could be excellent His contract is 2 years of club options (with buyouts) for 8.5 and 10 million dollars. Not to expensive, and the braves don’t have to use his options once they feel Heyward is ready for the bigs
