Am I the only one that actually felt bad for Bennett last night? He actually looked like he was going to cry after that bases loaded walk…he pissed me off as well…but the guy definitely didn’t try to give the game away.
KC….you are kidding right? Seriously man think about that statement and chill out a bit. What about the inning before when the Mets were called out at 3rd when in fact he was safe. Certainly they would have thrown the red flag from the dugout on that one.
You just can’t go laying blame on an umps call. Chipper looks like a damn fool for doing that which is becoming his norm of late. Sure it was a bad call but there are probably a dozen examples in any game that can be contested whether it be balls/strikes, bang bang plays, you name it.
Again that stuff all comes out in the wash. My thought is to just play ball and shut the hell up. Complaining and excuse making is for losers.
Monty, people from Parkview don’t fill the stands. WINNING fills the Stands. I wouldn’t give a copper penny to see Frenchy do anything and just because he’s a home town boy shouldn’t give him a free pass. He had no trade value last winter. Maybe they can get something for him now?
Anybody who wanted a Diaz/B.Jones platoon unstead of “wasting” $2.5M on GA have to be second guessing it now. Diaz has streaks where nothing looks bad coming out of the pitchers hand and B.Jones just isn’t that good.
Jo-Jo is not a bad pitcher, but what might be between the ears could be a different story. What he showed everyone against the Cards was the real Reyes, but hopefully he can settle down now and just pitch.
People were on Garret Anderson last night because he didn’t dive for a ball and take a chance it get’s by him. So today we have Diaz, who is supposedly a better fielder and a “hustler” and what does he do? He let’s a ball get by him.
Probably still thinking about that horrible at bat while the guy people love to hate drives in another run.
Hopefully Diaz will redeem himself. Hopefully JoJo doesn’t blow up.
You’ve got to start wondering, How long is Bobby and FW going to keep sending a guy like Reyes out there every 5th day with weapons like Hanson and Medlen in AAA? At this point, seeing that Bobby had such an early hook on Jo-Jo today, I have to believe that soon, if Glavine isn’t due to be back at the end of the month as hoped, We’ll see Hanson soon. This as a fan is getting old, but as a player, it’s got to be even worse. As a fan, I am hoping Glavine just retires as I am more excited at the prospect at what Hanson (or Medlen can do for that matter) is capable of at this level than I am of an 82 MPH fastball that Glavine is featuring these days. All in all, I am just tired of seeing the Braves unable to win a game with problems that could seemingly be so easily fixed. Would you ruin some of the trade value of Reyes a little? Sure, but how many over-hyped prospects can this organization expect these other GMs to bite on? How many of the guys they traded away in the last 4-5 years have panned out? That isn’t a real question, I am just saying that a lot of the time, it’s been a Charles Thomas, Dan Meyer and Juan Cruz (whom they picked off the scrap heap from the Cubs) for Tim Hudson type of deal where th prospects don’t pan out. Let’s fix the problem at the big league level. After all isn’t that the job of the farm system?

I wouldn’t want to pitch to Chipper today, I think we all knew he’d come out crushing the ball.
