But I’m just so friggin’ sick and tired of folks going on and on and on about these minor leaguers when in all likelihood we’ll be lucky if at most three of them are established starters on the Atlanta Braves 3 to 5 to 10 years from now. (WillyWally)
you’re right, and I used to point out all the time how few prospects actually make it as impact players, but I’d catch hell all the time for it, so I don’t do it so much any more

To have success against Santana, you gotta swing early in the count. He throws a lot of strikes, and if you get behind 0-1 or 0-2 on him, it’s all over.
He likes to throw a lot of first pitch fastballs, that is where teams have success against him.

Diaz is 9-for-16 now in his career against Santana. Also has a homer against him. Not to mention a homer this year in spring training, too.

I have tried to remain optimistic about the Braves for many years. I have been a fan since the days of Chris Chambliss, Dale Murphy, Bob Horner, and Claudell Washington. With that said, I believe the Braves need to see a cardiologist. Frankly, they lack emotion and love for the game. To me, Chipper Jones and Alex Rodriquez are the most overrated players in baseball. Chipper is a great switch hitter that is a true egomaniac. He is constantly nursing some injury. How many games has the whimp missed in the last 10 years? It is shocking. He has to be leading baseball in that category over the last decade minus a major injury. What hasn’t he hurt? I truly believe the egomaniac hurts the team. He is not a leader. He got his big contract and lost his passion for the game, the fans, and the Braves. I am openly questioning whether he is truly hurt. His injuries are always of” the can’t be confirmed nature”. The Braves have babied him for years. Remember him being moved to left field. The dude couldn’t even play in the World Baseball Classic without an injury. That was his excuse for his embarrassing performance. We will not win a World Series again with Chipper. Trade this guy. He has talent but not heart or passion. Every time he stops a ball at the hot corner or swings at a pitch; I expect an injury.

That Ump should be suspended. There is no way that he should make a scene like that to show up Kotchman. Granted, Kotch shouldn’t have slammed his bat to the ground, but the Ump made it much more of a scene than it really should have been. What a jerk.

BS call on Kotchman. When the catcher’s mitt nearly hits the ground to catch the pitch, it’s a ball. I don’t think the ball dropped knee high to 3 inches high from the front of the plate to the catchers mitt. Not only that, but the pitch also looked outside.

Kris Medlen is on quite a roll with the G-Braves. He threw 6-2/3 innings of two-hit ball with six strikeouts tonight in a 4-0 win against Durham, now he’s 5-0 with an 0.96 ERA in six starts and one relief appearance. Dude hasn’t allowed a run in his past 20 innings.

Franceour is being too aggresive. He is averaging is dropping, and he is not making the pitchers work. Jordan Schafer has too big a swing. He can’t hit the fastball on the middle of the plate.
