you’re kidding right? You are one of the most negative, angriest posters on the board. All anybody has to do is read through the posts during a losing game to know that. Unbelievable that you could say that without being struck by lightning, dude
How pitiful is it when Martine Prado is your #3 hitter?! The lowly Braves will get swept! Our boy Santana will carve up that minor league lineup like nobodys business. This will be so joyful watching my Mets absolutley DESTROY this embarrassment of a team you call the braves!!! LETS GO METS….LETS GO METS!!!!!!!!

Chipper hurt again? Does anyone besides me think Chipper should refund the Braves for all his missed games (more every year). I think we should do him (and the Braves) a favor and trade him to an AL contending team where he can actually earn his salary as a DH, extend his career, and perhaps win a world series. The Braves should be able to get good prospects and a starter, which we sorely need. I see this as a win-win situation for everybody. What’s fair about making him a part-time player for the same team for his entire career, or, does he just enjoy playing for the poorest excuse for a major league manager who demands the same from his players as he does himself…NOTHING (but a paycheck). Fire Bobby before he explodes in the dugout. I like Bobby; no one can mine that left nostril any better.
That just shows that our Beatwriter is NOT biased like alot of other teams. I listened to the philies on the XM and the Philies announcers we praising the Howards defense, It has improved but seriusly is below average!
No offense to anyone, but I really am so sick and tired of hearing about the minor leaguers. It really is starting to turn into a college football board, where everyone says the guys on campus suck, but all the recruits are the greatest, then the recruits get on campus and everyone thinks they suck too, but think the new recruits are even greater than the old recruits were.
Tell me when they’re K’n 9 per 9 in the majors, or OPS’n .800 in the bigs. ‘Til then I really don’t care to hear much about ‘em. I’ll just presume they suck even worse than the guys at the Ted, ’cause if they didn’t, they’d be the guys at the Ted, not the guys currently stinkin’ up the Ted

Willy Wally you don’t have to read anything you don’t want to. If it is talking about minor leaguers then skip over the post. Nobody makes you read those posts and nobody is going to stop talking about them because you don’t like them
We’re better off with Prado at 3B than with Chipper trying to play when he can’t get full extension on his swing and won’t play better defense than Prado. On paper there is less power in the lineup, but that’s on paper. Chipper has not provided any more power than Prado this season with his various injuries.
A doppelganger is a look alike or a cheap fascimile of someone…like some of those stooges or maybe the same stooge who was posting as our usual bloggers.
With these Mets trolls, they just try to get a rise out of us. In all reality, they are bigger chokers than the Buffalo Bills back in the day.
Santanna’s problem so far is that he can’t beat the Braves. 0-3 against Atlanta. If K’s were a major factor for a starter, neither Maddux nor Glavine would have been successful. Neither one was or is considered a “strike-out” pitcher.
vabravesfan, I’ve been hearing about these minor leaguers on this board since this blog got started. Since the inception of this blog about four seasons ago, only two minor leaguers have ever fulfilled their promise: Yunel Escobar and Martin Prado. Nevertheless, folks have blathered on and on and on every year about how great the minor leaguers are. I’m over it. Until they do something in the majors, I really don’t care to hear about ‘em. Come up, put up, or shut up.
Have you seen the dimensions at Citi Field? And Schafer on the bench? I doubt it. I am fine with it either way. I think it’s a push. Omar may get a couple hits playing center tonight, but Schafer might save a couple bases in the outfield. As far as Kelly playing second, I don’t know if Bobby looks at those BAA numbers, but either way there too. We’ll see. I am pumped for this game tonight to be sure though.
WillyWally people post the things about minor leaguers because those guys are the future of the organization. Get over it dude. (Schafer’s Wafers)
Yeah, been hearing about your boy being “the future” for years. The future what? The future first guy ever to K 200 times without even getting double digit homers?
For the millionth time, the lineup gets posted when DOB gets back from the clubhouse. I’m sure it’s up as DOB filed an article about Prado batting 3rd/Chipper out, but DOB won’t do blog or lineup updates in the clubhouse. If the lineup isn’t in the pressbox before he heads down to the clubhouse, then it will be posted when he gets back. Simple as that. Be patient.
I have fantasy teams to satisfy my micromanaging bent. I know about our prospects, but I’ll be damned if I care about their mechanics, how they’re doing in High-A ball, their ETA for the bigs, etc. That’s loser talk. I care about the big club. If the big club doesn’t win enough, what good is it to have all these wonderful kids who aren’t helping the big club win on a daily basis? I mainly see prospects as trade bait for guys to help us win. I trust that Wren isn’t stupid enough to get his clock cleaned in trades. I’ll leave it to him to prove me right or wrong, but it’s awfully presumptuous to project the future of this team when nearly anything can happen to derail minor league prospects.
I point to the Baby Braves of ‘05 and say, “This is a prime example of why I am skeptical.” If a fan wants to say that the last three years have been a product of bad luck, that is fine. That’s simply inconceivable to me, but whatever gets ya through, right?
Cox isn’t playing Schafer because he’s afraid he’ll run right into the new damn apple when he goes on one of those border collie romps after a fly ball over his head.
Hi It’s only the truth my friend…plus I am in no mood today to deal with mets fans jumping on the blog bragging about the dominance of a team that has won exactly the same number of play off games as the Braves have over the last 2 years
Do you even like this team. I mean yes Schafer is struggling at the plate. But he leads the team in BB, has a high obp. Plays good defense. Yes we are spoiled at the D Andruw played for 10 years but guess what there is no one in the game today who can go and get it like Druw did. IMO the kid is doing what he is asked to do. come play CF dont make mistakes defensively. Whatever he does offensively is a plus. Thats what bobby wants from him.
Buzzmeat the reason the trade Vazquez idea is because our 2010 rotation currently will consist of JJ, Lowe, Vazquez, Hudson(as long as they pick up his contract, 13 mil is reasonable if he put up his numbers of old in august and Sep), Hanson, and Kawakami. Vazquez makes the most sense. He is a FA after the 2010 year and will probably get more in return than Hudson and Kawakami if Vazquez continues to put up the same numbers this year. They may decide to keep him but I wouldnt be suprised either way.
Hi. I’m new here. And before I post any more, just hoping that Willy Wally will post a list of topics he deems acceptable for consumption here. I don’t want to post anything that he doesn’t care about or that will offend his delicate sensibilities. Thank you.
Diaz is in left field. Prado at third base, batting third.
Chipper can pinch-hit tonight if needed, hopes to play tomorrow. Has some fluid buildup in the elbow from the hyperextension, something that’s happened to him many times in past, he said, because of the way he swings, when he lets the top hand go and extended that front arm.
He treated it three times today. Said if it’s not any better tomorrow he’ll get a shot and be out a little longer, but that’s a last resort. Sounded like he thinks he’ll play tomorrow.
Look at that picture of Chipper Jones they got on the sight today. Look at it!
I don’t trust a fella that’s got a beard (a scraggly chin thing) and no moustache. That’s not right. He looks like a damn communist is what he looks like. And my daddy fought the communists and they tried to kill him.
So I don’t care about some communist looking baseball player. Why doesn’t he just move to New York. Or better yet, to Cuba. I hear they still got some communists down in cuba. Maybe Castro will congratulate him on his fine communist beard.
Glavine plans to do a simulated two or three innings on Wednesday, and if that goes well he could make a rehab start as soon as Monday. He thinks he’ll probably need two rehab starts, could be back for Braves around the San Fran series May 25-27 if all goes well.
He said he’s about 75-85 percent confident that he’ll make it back. He was candid, honest, and upbeat. Sounds like he’s accepted he might not make it back, but he said he feels good and his session Monday in Philly buoyed his confidence more, especially that Roger and Bobby both felt as good about it as he did.
A young man named Dave received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird’s mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. Dave tried and tried to change the bird’s attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to “clean up” the bird’s vocabulary. Finally, Dave was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. Dave shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. Dave, in desperation, threw up his hands, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he’d hurt the parrot, Dave quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto Dave’s outstretched arms and said, “I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I’m sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior.” Dave was stunned at the change in the bird’s attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, “May I ask what the turkey did?”
Obviously neither of you read my 5:04 post which stated DOB was probably still in the clubhouse. If either of you actually read peoples statements before you rip into them maybe you would get along with people better. But as I’ll put it I look at various media outlets for the lineups not just DOB. Unlike you two apparently. I was simply stating that if Chipper was the only probable cause why hadn’t any lineup been given out. I check USA Today, SI.com, MLB.com , etc. So next time before you rip into someone who actually appreciates what DOB does please read why previous post. Thank You.
Scafers Wafers have you watched the games? I can recall over 10 times this year Schafer has tried to catch a ball he should of taken off the wall. I honestly dont know how many more mistakes he could make.

Usually when Chipper gives it a go when he’s 50-50 he winds up missing 4-5 more games.
Have to sit him when hes not fully healthy otherwise we lose the key piece of an already weak offense.

Chipper “Ironman” Jones sidelined? Or maybe not. Stop the presses.
Let’s not forget that Hudson is slated to return in August. If his arm is ready, he moves into the 5th spot in the rotation.

We’re better off with Prado at 3B than with Chipper trying to play when he can’t get full extension on his swing and won’t play better defense than Prado. On paper there is less power in the lineup, but that’s on paper. Chipper has not provided any more power than Prado this season with his various injuries.

We’ll see. I am pumped for this game tonight to be sure though.

bravos2249,
For the millionth time, the lineup gets posted when DOB gets back from the clubhouse. Be patient.

I’m with you, Willy Wally.

Thank You.
