Ive got to admit I have to tip my hat to soriano and bobbys patient with him……….he is lights out.
May 11th, 20099:55 pm
argue just to argue…
May 11th, 20099:56 pm
Speaking of, there are 3 former Angels in the Stadium tonight. Three guys who were Angels just last season…
the fact of the matter is we are up 6-1 BUT they are saying our offense stinks…unearned runs or not the only one that really wasn’t driven in on a hit was the one on the error by David Wright…..it was a hit by Diaz but the error allowed the run. Whether the run is earned or unearned you have to hit the ball to drive em in.
MFin04 (The Hopeless Romantic)
We need to get McCann over there. Every little run helps.
You’re absolutely right. ESPN’s analysis of the Braves’ weaknesses is accurate. But what are the Mets weaknesses though? I haven’t heard them touch on that yet. Hmm now why is that??
I have to say it again………..this is a totally different team with Mc in the middle of the lineup.
Macon Braves (RIP)
JJ–Your probably getting the local HD feed of PTV. I’m near Macon (obvious I know) and it’s not a local channel here so I have to take what DirecTV gives me I guess.
Eric from MO

Loaf your as bad as the Muts trolls. That isnt a compliment. Wish we could block you now just like I wish we could block guys like Anders.
Moderate Maniac, that’s not the point, these bafoons rave on and on no matter what about the Mutts and take cheap shots at the Braves. Dude, listen to their tone of voice since we’ve braken this game out. Silence and disgust.
Looks like Beltran just did his best Frenchy throw!
No kidding about the traffic flow issues at dodger stadium…I like Anaheim’s microbrew selections (hey, a $9 beer is cheap when someone else is buying). When did they put a Canter’s in at Dodger stadium?? I LOVE Canters!! I have not been there in 2 years (missed the series last year)…Canter’s? Really??
Maybe they can lock the BRAVES up in a hotel in downtown Atlanta when they get home. Don’t let them sleep in their beds at home. Don’t let them see the wife-girlfriends-kids. They’ll think they are on the road and maybe will win some games at home!
May 11th, 20099:58 pm
McCann, Kotchman join Norton in showing the ESPN announcers that the Bravos have speed; Mets clearly scared of this speed
Steve from OH
Wow, what a finish for the Caps. Great series, it should go seven (sorry, Efrim). Incredible game.
What a great throw by beltran……..was he trying to double up some one at 1b? or did he think he caught a groundball and was throwing to 1b?
Pen’s lose. Game 7 should be an incredible game.
“You just expect it to be a tighter game even when you lose.” – Steve Phillips ladies and gentlemen on the Mets loss
With that dreadful throw from Beltran on the Francouer sacrifice fly, the Mutts put an exclamation point on a very poorly played game. Braves up by five and threaten to get the sixth on a wild pitch.
May 11th, 20099:59 pm
So if the Bravos hold on, we are 1 and a half out correct? Do we still have to throw in the towel on the season bc the pessimists insist that it is over?
GREAT JOB FRENCHY!!!!!!!
Boy, this is just classic Mets’ baseball. Tons of talent, always something going wrong when it counts. The ESPN guys are kinda’ dancing around that fact, but won’t quite come out and say it (so far).
ESPN is all based on who’s popular at the moment. They are trying to coddle the mets and explain their mistakes. pathetic.
Doc–Agree completely on the fact that the lineup is different with Mac in the lineup. Ross has done a fabulous job filling in, but he’s not Mac and it’s showing since he’s gotten back IMO.
This muts sure look solid……..what a pleasant surprise.
May 11th, 200910:00 pm
Eric, Anders ain’t a troll. He brings a little more to the convo than “Braves suck, Mets r awesome!!!” Granted, he’s a Mets fan so we grudgingly accept him, but I’d say all in all, he has better stuff to say than a few Braves fans that post here…
That said, Mets suck. What are you thinking, Anders?
Thank you, my friend. I was beginning to wonder if I was not conveying my point accurately.
How are all these runs unearned? I just don’t get how ALL of them are???
Loaf…my wife (shes from LaGrange Ga.)says well said sir….you ain’t just whistlin dixie.
500th career hit?? Dang, I’m ashamed of myself for not knowing that! Thanks, Chief!
Woulda been nice to have hit it with guys on base, but we’re winning, so I’ll take it!
Scroll up. I posted earlier to that very point. I posted about how they had critiqued the Mets rotation and how it stunk and they could not waste a Santana start.
May 11th, 200910:01 pm
I can’t Believe you don’t know what BSPN Stands For!
BSPN Stands for (Bull-Shyt-Programming Network) Don’t you love what I Call that Network, I hope It catches On with people who don’t like the MTV-Sports Network
Quote from some Mets fan: “New york, New york the greatest city in the world.
Atlanta isn’t a city its a sh!tty, or as you call it mule crap”
Im sorry but Chicago is the greatest city in America and London is the greatest in the world, Ingorant Mets fan probably has never left Flushing
May 11th, 200910:02 pm
ESPN is based on northeastern teams and teams in LA (on a bit of a smaller scale since it is west coast) I gag everytime the BoSox and Yanks play since ESPN almost begs them to drop their drawers for their telecast.
guess we don’t have to worry about overusing Gonzo tonight
Good to see some smiles on the bench! Maybe we’ve turned the corner…. a bit.
Can we please carry this momentum into Tuesdays/Wednesday’s games?
May 11th, 200910:03 pm
So EVERY braves player who recorded an at bat tonight got a hit….except Schafer. But- Hey the kid did reach base on a walk. Great night for us! GO BRAVOS!
May 11th, 200910:04 pm
Macon Braves (RIP)-
You might be suprised at how little attention LA sports get (aside from the f*ing lakers) from the national media…
Buddy in for the 9th
16 hits against muts pitching……….didnt some muts rats were talking last night about how good the muts pitching was?
Sorry, I missed that. They must’ve really dwelled on that point. Was that before or after Phillips was lamenting how unjust baseball can be sometimes in reference to Johan’s record.
Buddy C. Throw Strikes! No Walks…I don’t want a repeat of the third game of the year
PLEASE CHIPPER DON’T TAKE TOO MANY DAYS OFF. IF BOBBY COX WOULD GET KELLY JOHNSON OUT OF THE LINEUP AND YOU WOULD LEARN TO PLAY THROUGH MINOR INJURIES, THE BRAVES COULD WIN THE EAST AND POSSIBLY GO TO THE WORLD SERIES. PUT SOME ICE ON YOUR ELBOW AND STOP TAKING UNNECESSARY DAYS OFF
Steve from OH, tough, tough loss. They need a freaking winger. I want Hossa back. This series is over if we have last year’s roster(Malone, Hossa, Whitney).
May 11th, 200910:05 pm
Great call by bobby………using carlyle since it is clear he wont be needed tomorrow night.
Well, we have Jurrgens tomorrow!
Very encouraging, very encouraging indeed…
BSPN, I figured, but its more fun to read it typed out They do have the worst announcers in the world.
May 11th, 200910:06 pm
CABraves Fan, What About USC…?
You Know BSPN Slobs all over them…When in Reality USC can’t F… With the SEC
Brewdawg we threw in the towel a week ago. No way they will let us have our towel back.
May 11th, 200910:07 pm
Efrim, we love Hossa here, you can’t have him! That said, I think the ‘Pens will pull it off tomorrow. Ovie can’t beat them all by himself again, can he?
cabravesfan–You might be right, but I sure hear a lot about the Dodgers and USC from ESPN as well (in addition to the RAT Kobe and the Lakers)
Yahoo…DP bails Carlyle out of a possible trouble spot. One more out and the Braves go home happy.
And you think that loss was tough, how ’bout losing in triple OT to the hated Ducks? Ugh, that stung…
DOUBLE PLAY!!!! That was sooooo DP2C!!!!
May 11th, 200910:08 pm
I just have to turn it back to BSPN to hear the final out and those yutzes have to say The Braves won this one.
Since last Aug. 11, Lowe is 11-2 with a 2.34 ERA in 18 starts, including 4-0 in his last four starts.
May 11th, 200910:09 pm
I am going to let that comment about my beloved Trojans pass…they can hang with anyone and you know it
These b*stards will not give the Mutts talk a rest.
A lot of College Football Fans (mainly SEC), Call ESPN, BSPN because of how they Overrate teams like Ohio State, USC, and OU (Sorry Joe Simpson)
Prior to Bowl Games vs the SEC
The streak ends tonight for the Mets
Great win tonight by the Bravos. Doesn’t get much tougher than Santana. Clutch hitting, great pitching, good defense were all there. I’ll be there Wednesday, looking forward to seeing Citi Field for the first time after seeing many games at that dump that used to be next door.
one more out!!!
Why is that when non-Brave announcers do what they are paid to do and analyze the game and the players, they are taking shots at the Braves? If they are taking shots by analyzing, then they called Reyes out on his boot. Wright out on his boot and Beltran out on that crazy throw at the top of the inning!
I think some Braves fans have a hard time hearing the game without the Braves homer announcer filters. Now that being said, I would rather listen to the Braves homers if it’s Joe and Boog. Chip makes me want to throw something at the TV. If it’s on SS or FS, I would watch it there. As I said, I like it without the hometown filter sometimes.
And one final thought. I don’t see where the announcers belittle the non NEW YORK-CHICAGO-BOSTON teams, but there is no doubt they surely do find more superlatives to spout out about teams from those markets when they are playing well.
I do give you that point.
Now the announcers are calling out the Mets on their attitude and desire so don’t say they are picking on the Braves!
DP to C – Double Play to Casey
May 11th, 200910:10 pm
cabravesfan–For full disclosure here, I was actually a big Kobe fan early in his career (shamelessly I must admit for nothing other than sharing the same last name and liking his game early on), but lost all respect for him when he threw Shaq under the bus when the Feds started questioning him.
Aight, CaBravesFan I will let that Slide…LOL
Yeah but JJ wont get any run support tomorrow.
Tatis doubles. Game goes on.
Buddy, throw strikes!
May 11th, 200910:12 pm
Steve McP. 10:09 pm. “DP to C – Double Play to Casey”
You may have something here.
Steve from OH, I think Ovechkin has help. Backstrom has played well. So has Kozlov. I think a lot of the hockey nation likes to think Ovie doesn’t have help, but he does. All that said, the Pens outplayed the Caps tonight, and lost, so I don’t have too much confidence. We’ll see.
I cant see us losing tomorrow, Pelfrey vs. Jurrjens, HA!!
Nice ESPN, games not even over yet and on the lead it says, Mets provide No run support for Johan Santana, fall to Braves.
May 11th, 2009
we used the Mute function on the remote and listen to the wife!
May 11th, 200910:13 pm
Buddy walks Reed. The game goes on.
Buddy just can’t seem to find the strike zone.
Moderate your right. All game bloggers have complained they have been negative to the Braves. Now they are dissing the Mets and the bloggers are still complaining. Like I said earlier, if you cant stand it without the home town filter just mute the TV.
Buddy cannot throw strikes!!!
cabravesfan: That was put in last year I think. It’s deep on the thrid base side, almost left field, of the field level. The entire field level has been remodeled. It is more roomy and easier to walk around down there now. They have a few other places inserted in, but Canter’s is the only place I really cared about.
May 11th, 200910:14 pm
Are the Braves playing on ESPN or is it just the Mets?
Chop It Up All-star
Come on Buddy, you have to be kidding me.
For crying out loud. Just get this last frickin out.
May 11th, 200910:15 pm
The bottom of the ESPN ticker says Mets Fall to Braves…before the game is over….lol!!!!
Fortunately (or not) you should be getting more coverage.
You wear your moniker well, my friend.
Nothing wrong with objectivity.
“Even if I don’t agree with it!”
Buddy gives up a hit and a run. Gonzalez up in the pen.
Buddy pitching to Sheffield. One swing could make this interesting.
4the love of GOd get a stinkin out
Game looks complete to me. Lowe was lights out so I have no room to talk any trash. All I can point to is the sloppy play by Reyes and Wright that led to runs. The braves capitalized on these and will walk away with the a win. So take pride in taking the first one, but lets hope it doesn’t carry over into tomorrows game.
Wow Buddy. Lets take this to the house, ok?
Winning road trip – now let’s get to 7 out of 8!
This is an amazing turnaround from a week ago.I’m starting to sense a grittiness about this team-clutch hitting by role players and great starting pitching.Maybe a flash of the old days-just a flash that hopefully turns to spark a fire.
May 11th, 200910:16 pm
Braves Win!!! Man I bet Those BSPN Commentators Are Crying Crocodile Tears Now!
EXCELLENT! GO BRAVES!!!!
Come-backer to Carlyle. Game over. Braves win!
Streak for Mets is over

We started the streak, only fair we end it.
