The history of HS pitchers at the top of the draft is at best mixed.
Beckett -- great in the post-season, but only 2 noteworthy regular seasons so far.
Kazmir-- been good, but not great
Avery -- very good from '91 - '93 and came up huge in the playoffs and WS in '95, but all too brief a career.
Ankiel -- a brief display of what the hype was all about followed by Steve Blass disease.
Brien Taylor -- 0/1 in bar room fights
Matt White -- got 10 million bonus to never pitch in majors
Harrington -- refused to sign with 2 clubs and never was heard from again
The kid from Texas (whose name I'm blocking on right now) that allowed Chipper to be drafted by the Braves -- never pitched more than a few years of middle relief
It looks like Matzek will be off the board by the time the Braves draft, but that might not be such a bad thing.

Reality, How could you possibly know what you said in your earlier post is entirely correct? Were you in the Braves clubhouse when the Griffey/Hudson thing went down? Are you related to one of the Braves? Frankly, none of us will ever know everything that happens in the Braves clubhouse because they prefer to keep things in-house. Even reporters are banned from the clubhouse at certain times before and after games for the sake of privacy. It's extremely arrogant of you to claim something as fact that you have no direct knowledge about.
