Of course I’m kidding, mbatl. Only a jag-off ‘tard would talk like that and mean it. I’m kidding with you too, LKS.

Tomahawkin, yeah… ordinarily, we would definitely see retaliation for all the balls that have hit Braves hitters or have come close to their faces. BUT… KK had the scariest moment there, and he’s the one on the mound. So if he doesn’t retaliate, it may not happen.

Man… Chipper needs to get it going. Can’t blame lack of protection anymore.

Francouer is not in a funk, when has he ever been hot. He sucks. He’ll be the same player in ten years, playing in the same outfield for Bobby Cox, who refuses to see the light. Braves suck. Period!

Agreed, Schafer Needs to run more in the few times he’s on base…

But then Again “Bobby-Ball” is in full effect at CBP. It’s the only place where “Bobby-ball” works on a consistant basis because of the short dimensions

Chipper does not look right. The way he is swinging so far, I am susprised to see him still around.290. Myers looks as though he has settled down. Dare I say pitchers duel at CitiBank?

KK is the most frustrating and maddening pitcher to watch that I’ve seen in a long time. How the hell can you come close to walking the pitcher a couple innings back, and then walk him this inning, followed by another (2 out) walk to put runners on in front of Uttley?????? In the name of all that is holy… somebody figure this guy out.

This offense is piss poor. 0 for 10 with runners in scoring position, and not playing for 1 run with a runner on second with ZERO outs, is just plain stupid. Now the score is 2-1. When at worst it could be 2-2. Chipper is now hurt, Kotchman is too darn slow to be hitting in the middle of the order. And this offense is not supporting their pitchers AT ALL!!!

Ray K.

Rob in Mobile

May 10th, 2009
2:24 pm

And see what happens when the Braves can’t do anything with their offense? Sure enough, their opponent shows them how to do it in the next half-inning, and makes the Braves pay for stranding everyone. You saw it coming, didn’t ya?

BravesDave

May 10th, 2009
2:24 pm

Kotchman is one of the few Braves that know how to handle the bat. Actually, one of three in the regular lineup – Chipper and McCann are the others. He should be hitting 2nd. He is the typical 2nd place hitter. Everything you need in a 2nd place hitter except for the fact that he is a little short on speed.

Nice to see the quintessential Braves team has shown up today. Get a leadoff double in the top of the inning. The runner is stuck in cement. Then promptly give up go-ahead run in the bottom of the inning. This team is pathetic.

When will the Schefer experiment get shelved. I am dead serious when i say that a lot pitchers are better hitters than Jordan. He needs to get through puberty first. He can not hit a fast ball at all. 0-38 with RISP. Bobby Cox has lost every sense of winning in the last 4 years. I think he thinks this is a 262 game season. We have the worst outfield in baseball I challenge anyone to that.

Braves having a pretty good road trip hitting, but have reverted back to their old ways for today’s game I see. KK has got to be saying what did I do. This lineup has found a way to do nothing for him rather it be offensively and defensively in many of his starts. Stop swinging for the fences, regular hits drive the run in too.

cabravesfan,

I agree that KK ain’t helping but pitchers are going to throw stuff in the dirt occasionally and the catcher needs to do what he can to get in front of it.

Either way we are out of the inning now lets get some runs

BravesDave

May 10th, 2009
2:31 pm

So let me get this straight……..the Braves went out and increased the payroll in the offseason to guarantee a .500 season?? Because at this rate, there is no way that this team is going to finish above .500.

Francoeur completely stinks, by the way. I truly believe that the biggest mistake this front office has made is in considering Francoeur to be a major league starter. His defense in right field gets worse every season and he is consistently disappointing at the plate. Once again, the Braves outfield as a whole is almost impossibly bad.

a643dp, the game passed Bobby Cox by many years ago. The mediocre results of the past few years are all the proof you need. Uninspired play, poor fundamentals, a resistance to change, trotting out the same tired lineups, no accountability…….this is what you get.

KJ, Kotchman, CJ, Mac, Escobar, Infante, Prado, GA, Diaz are all better hitters than Francoeur. Schafer will soon follow in their footsteps. Jeff is absolutely a game changer…the one where we lose. He’s just awful when you really need him these last few years.
