Double? No…I think it was a single and he got to second on the throw.
I hope when the Braves got rid of Boyer it proved they weren’t going to put up with that type of pitching this year. Blaine sucked. WHy the Cards signed him..IDK….But hopefully jojo will go..I’ve never like Bennett either.
Jeff "Goo" Bennett

Here I go, again . . . Gotta keep that whip over 2.00, since there are no inherited runners to allow to score. Someone stick a fork in me or put a stake in my heart. Gooooooing, gooooing, rbi double Feliz and walk to the catcher. Do I suck or what?
McCann > Coste
Howard > Kotchman
Utley > Any of 3 stooges (Infante, Johnson and Prado)
Rollins > Escobar
Jones > Feliz
Phillies outfield >>> Braves outfield

tonight, marlis are winning, mets are winning, WORLD CHAMPS ARE WINNING and braves losing. at the end of this trip you guys will be 7 out of first. for sure 6 out on sunday, 6 is a lot see you in 2010.
Well let’s look on the bright side I think Moylan, Gonzo , and Soriano have pitched for like 4 straight days….they are at least getting an off day.
the real Andy
i lived in philly for 3 years – maybe we should just let these guys have their moment in the sun – they don’t have much else to live for. gloat it up fellas. you’re still from a crappy, dirty city filled with unhappy people. have fun with that.
Well, I think you hit the nail on the head about Jo Jo might be done (hoping so). What do you think they will do with him?
Does he have any options or what? Forgive me, bloggers, but do ya’ll think it may be Tommy Time, and I’m not referring to Glavine..
May 8th, 20099:21 pm
whats wrong with bennet’s mouth??
Jo-Jo has given up seven homers in 11 innings in his past three games (two starts) at Philly.
By the way, Hanson pitched May 5, just in case anyone’s trying to figure out whether he might be a possibility to take Reyes’ next turn at NY on May 13. I don’t think that’ll happen, but we’ll see what Bobby Cox says afterward about Reyes staying in rotation.

I am a true Braves fan, I watch win or lose, but something needs to be done within our upper management. We have talented players at Triple A. Bobby Cox loves proven players, but the only thing Reyes and Bennett have proven is that they suck. Give Hanson and Medlen a chance. How can Wren and Cox not be tired of watching this crap.
Man This Is Embarassing, Our offense is just getting Schooled by the Phillies in terms of situational hitting…
just walk a couple and it will feel like a victory against
THE ATLANTA BRAVES!
May 8th, 20099:23 pm
and now i will point out that your team was 7 out with 17 to go two years ago…6 out (it would actually be only 5 if you swept…good luck with that) in May is not really that big of a deal
No Chip, its not that the Phillies are angry, it’s just that JB isn’t that good.
Why man?? I just dont understand how this team cannot get hits when it needs them. I mean, we are down by 5 runs in the 8th and no one can get on base and drive anyone in, meanwhile, in the bottom of the inning, the Phillies get people on and get them in. terry pendleton needs to go. Seriously
Bobby Cox should be fired if he leaves Reyes in the rotation. Bennett needs to go too,
Now see I can agree on that..Rollins is better than Escobar because he leads off and is a vet. Escobar doesn’t suck of course but I do agree…to an extinct.
We are only going to be 3 games out tonight nim wit.
they are facing Bennett, it would be harder not to score
May 8th, 20099:24 pm
did all you guys went to bed?
This team as constructed has no chance at the playoff’s
May 8th, 20099:25 pm
Get real. Utley’s OPS was over a 1.000 coming into today. Coming into today, Infante’s OPS wasn’t even at .800.
Not. Even. Close.
Gawd, this team just totally sucks right now.
May 8th, 20099:26 pm
apparently they don’t teach grammer in philadelphia
we play the braves again on the 15th…. oh sorry those are the nationals.
Braveheart = Melissa
May 8th, 20099:27 pm
I wonder if Bobby can finally see that Bennett sux.
Well guess no one wants Bennett to be the set-up guy anymore.
i’m talking south.lol
Hamels > Lowe
Vazquez >>>> Myers
Jurrjens >>>>>>>>>> Moyer
Blanton = Kawakami at best (for Blanton)
Glavine/Reyes/Hanson > Carasco/Park/Happ
May 8th, 20099:28 pm
When did we bring up James Parr and who was optioned down or put on the DL???
May 8th, 20099:29 pm
Skip & Pete Fan
Does anyone know the facebook address for Joe and Boog?
More Bad Awareness from our baserunners
Brennan, James Parr has been up for a while now dude, where you been?
May 8th, 20099:30 pm
The Phillies arent going anywhere. Their starting pitching is terrible. Jamie Moyer LOL
Haha Braves, a little late to be showing signs of life.
OK But Hamels is better than Lowe but Lowe is better than a ton of pitchers in baseball..I wonder why Philly didn’t go after him? or did they?
wow what speed with the braves, are they on wheel chairs??
cheaper and mac not exactly 2 bunnies!! on base.lol
Bite on that Phillie fans
Way to go Kotchman!
May 8th, 20099:31 pm
sorry ass braves, DREAM-DREAM-DREAM!!!!!!
Another Meaningless Homer, Why couldn’t it have happened earlier…Lets just pad up the stats time
what are you Puerto Rican?
Where the hell were they earlier?
Honest question…why is Lidge in this game?
Hey, I like some Braves. Like Peter Moylan. Thanks for all those walks in that third game of the season!
believe I just saw a smile on G Andersons face on that dugout shot
May 8th, 20099:32 pm
great rally schafer KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
2 in 2 days look at that power hitting `1b.
Infante & Kotchman = Kings of meaningless homeruns
May 8th, 20099:33 pm
that’s not going to help Lidge’s ERA at all…what was that about the braves pitching sucking?
to get some work, hasn’t pitched in few days. or becasue they are scared of your offense
If Escobar didn’t make that error they wouldn’t be meaningless.
Say what you want about Schafer and the K’s..but the kid is tough to endure all this and keep battling
involuntary screech #2 (no kids this time)
Schafer K’s Again…Not hating on Schafer but If That Had Been Deion Sanders or David Justice up there They’d been boo’d out of town weeks ago…
Tomahawkin we all know you are a closet phillie fan. Just come out and say it
May 8th, 20099:34 pm
ok but still his era is huge
Schafer, Schafer, Schafer
Greg F-ing Norton….
The Braves think they’re a playoff team with Greg Norton?
The Phillies had a bunch of guys have career years last year, They arent going anywhere
original Jon, at school with no Bravos…
Skip & Pete fan –
Here’s Joe and Boog’s:
And in case you didn’t know…here’s DOB’s fan group
May 8th, 20099:35 pm
Do they phillies think they are with Jamie Moyer?
What happened to that pitching machine Schafer has to simulate every pitcher’s reprotoire? I’d ask for my money back.
it would have made sense to have him pitch against the Mets yesterday though cause now the Phillies are using him in a game that enables the Braves to see him when they really don’t have to.
Shane, you took the words out of my mouth
May 8th, 20099:37 pm
BREAVES ARE OUT OOOOOOF HEEEERE
Hmm..could Lidge be tipping pitches again?
Losing Braves lose again
May 8th, 20099:38 pm
ACE lowe lol
Oh Metfan schooled me.
His team has two World Series titles. And you were alive for how many of them?
I remember ‘86 but I think I missed the end of game 6 when Shiraldi, Stanley and Buckner decided to play for the other team because I had to get up the next day to go to the 2nd grade.
Also, we have three World Series titles, not one. Where do we want to go with this?
Rob in Mobile
Can anyone in in the Braves management swallow their pride long enough to admit that Jordan Schafer is overmatched? Can Bobby Cox stop making excuses for the poor kid and let him get some more seasoning in Gwinnett? This guy’s gonna strike out 250 times this year. Blanco may be struggling, but at least he can get on base and make better contact, and (gasp!) steal a base or two.
And it’s fitting to see Infante make the last out. According to the Braves braintrust on this blug, he is equal to Utley.
Loaf Garret on a blackberry from the dugout
Garret Anderson don’t smile. At anything. Ever. Garret Anderson is happy to be here. But he still don’t smile.
May 8th, 20099:39 pm
3 below 500??????
At Least we made Lidge Work 2nite. He May not be available Tomorrow
Summary of the Game, You walk the #8 hitter you’re asking for trouble
And You don’t give teams like the Phillies extra outs to play with…We Keep playing Dumb Baseball we get our A..ses handed to us each and every night…

May 8th, 20099:42 pm
Agreed. Schaefer making himself look really bad, right now.
Ole Donk needs spare the poor kid and seriously do something about Blo Blo Reyes!
was a tough game tonight.
May 8th, 20099:43 pm
My old whip is back to a league worst 2.00. Why am I still in the major leagues? I stink like bad cheese.
May 8th, 20099:44 pm
These Philly fans on the blog are punk asses. Why would anyone give them a response?
May 8th, 20099:45 pm
Great job by Kotchman! Homering off Lidge is a beautiful thing!
McCann had to hold up incase that ball Francoeur hit was caught. Duh…if there woulda been two outs he’da scored, no problem.
Frank from KS
May 8th, 20099:46 pm
That’s great news concerning Glavine…..and contrary to what some of the fellow bloggers THINK and WANT…..I think it’s just about time for Glavine to be in the rotation…..and it wouldn’t surprise me if it comes sooner rather than later with JoJo’s performance tonight.
Oh, and can’t be dissatisfied with my mann’s night at the plate. A two run “single” and a walk–I’ll take that first game back!
But I with they Braves woulda won.
Philly fans! Chill the f*** out. If any of our other starters were going tonight we would have won this game.
You got another freebie. Just enjoy it. Anybody other than JoJo Reyes and we’d have shut you down.
May 8th, 20099:47 pm
I have been wondering why I feel the need to respond to Philly Phan…I blame the alcohol (and the fact that I feel a little sorry for him- clearly trying to overcompensate for something)
May 8th, 20099:48 pm
Personally I’m thinking Gonzo>Lidge. Atleast based off of this year, Gonzo has looked dominate almost every night out
May 8th, 20099:50 pm
anyone see the Magic BLOWING out the Celtics tonight? Dwight Howard is a beast! (he’s an atl kid, right?)
May 8th, 20099:51 pm
I think you ought to hold a sign up in the stands at Turner Field that says “Marry Me, Brian.”
Hey, stranger things have happened!
May 8th, 20099:52 pm
Yeah Dwight Howard is an Atl kid.
May 8th, 20099:53 pm
Why hasn’t Tommy Hanson gotten the call from the Braves ?! What would they owe him ? A million dollars ?!! They can’t pay that ?!!!
Right Mitchell? I find it hilarious that trolls are so pumped about their ace beating our #5 guy but okay! I guess its sour grapes from that Ring Day embarrassment the Bravos put on them….or, what cabraves fan said @ 9:47.
thank you…since I think tonight is the first time I’ve seen you please don’t be offended….are you a Braves fan or Philly fan?
May 8th, 20099:54 pm
The only good thing for me with this game is that the score sent me to watch Dollhouse, and Eliza Dushku has been wearing a nearly non-existent top.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
