We won’t know how close Hamels is to being back 100% until his next start. This game won’t be a good gauge simply because as the name suggests….. all the Phils have to do is throw Hamels’ glove out there against the Braves and it’s a win!

If this isn’t a call for help for Tommy Hanson, then what will it be, the 5.85 carrer ERA, the 5.81 ERA he had last year, the fact that he has gone winless since last year because everytime he is given a lead he blows it by his damn walks or giving up long balls, and making errors. Maybe it’s the combined ERA of 5.77 of Kawakami and Reyes.
At least demote Reyes and activate Campillo.

There’s a reason he hasn’t won a game in over a year.
He can’t pitch. If you give up one run in 7 or however many innings and then completely lose control in three other games you can’t make it at this level. That one game doesn’t make up for it.

It really looks like Jo Jo Reyes’ future is as a lefty out of the bullpen. They guy has major troubles with righties, but pretty good against lefties. Why not put him in the bullpen????????

he pitched well, but the umpire made a bad call, but i think jo-jo did good job. he’s fastball was great and change up was very good.he’ll be fine i’m not worried. gi-gi is good

The homers he’s giving up are to players in the bottom of the lineup and he’s pitching good to the stars. That’s not how you pitch. You pitch your best stuff to everyone.

Give up on Hanson for the time being. They are not going to bring him up and then have Glavine come back and put him in the bullpen or send him back. When they bring him up they intend to give him every chance to stay in the rotation and the the bigs.
So stop. Please note the JoJo is being caught by McCann and he is throwing a ton of breaking balls compared to his other starts. Not sure why he is not throwing the fastball but the is what it looks like.
Mcdowell should have talked to JoJo before Hammels came up.
Did you notice that can’t hit the ball out of here this year? Might just be me.

This is the third game of the damn road trip. We don’t need to have the damn bullpen go six innings.
Make him go five at least.
I really thought JoJo showed some promise last year. That error by Yunel was unacceptable but you have to throw strikes to the pitcher. If you have the pitcher up with the bases loaded you cannot give him the advantage like that.
I don’t think it makes any sense to take him out now. It’s a waste.

First off, Werth is a great homerun hitter in this park, and Coste hit one out with no one on, and he was probably just trying to pitch to contact. Take away the stupid 4 runs, and it would be 3-2. You don’t pull your starter when he is still getting guys out and kill your bullpen.
