This teams error are going to be death of us, or me. I have never seen this team commit so many errors in the field and on the base paths. This is inexcusable!
So…um…I’m still here in the minors.
May 8th, 20097:41 pm
Hindsight’s 20-20 and all, but Jo-Jo should have drilled Hamels, who was in the baseline, right in the back.
Anyway, 0 earned, but a terrible blowup by Reyes.
Good for Don Sutton. Just went on a much needed diatribe about how the efforts of people like Chipper, TG, Maddox Smoltz (and Jeter along with others) should not be diminishd by putting people like Bonds, Clemens and McGuire in the Hall.
Sutton basically said too many people don’t have the rocks to say no to juicers when it comes to Hall of Fame votes.
Meanwhile the game goes to hell – unrealted to Don’s well spoken commnets.
WoW…screwed by Escobar, the walks, and the blind umpire…
4 runs already with us, a team that has trouble scoring runs…
Rob from SC
When will Wren wake up and call up Tommy Hanson
what a waste. theres no way they come back now
Get loose Buddy. We gonna need you soon. Sure the E6 opened the door for the runs, but JoJo has lost it already.
May 8th, 20097:42 pm
My thoughts exactly….right in the numbers and make the umpire make that call!
BLAME FOR THAT 4-RUN INNING
1. Jo-Jo Reyes
2. Yunel Escobar
3. Jo-Jo Reyes
4. Jo-Jo Reyes
5. Jo-Jo Reyes
MFin04 (The Hopeless Romantic)
Jo-Jo being a dumb@$$ and fielding a ball that is rolling foul when the pitcher is already at first base, what a moron. Should have let it go foul.
Okay…is the Reyes experiment over? I think its time to move on. We stuck with Davies for too long. Lets not make the same mistake with Reyes. He still has some trade value I hope. He just cant handle the pressure of the bigs. He is a AAAA pitcher.
can’t expect to beat the phillies if you give them 5 outs an inning
Are Joe and Chip gonna keep squealing about the call? If I’m not mistaken the rule has nothing to do with making a bad throw. He has to nail the runner inside the line before anything is called! The runner is hit with the throw, he’s out. If not, it’s a no call and just a terrible throw by Jo Jo.
May 8th, 20097:43 pm
this is a waste of a game by giving it to them. walks and errors wtf
Jo-Jo might have missed the “Damage Control 101″ class at pitching school….
This homeplate ump is a dick
May 8th, 20097:44 pm
Doesn’t the throw have to hit the runner for interference to be called? I thought that was the rule, but I could be wrong.
Reyes made two mistakes on that play. Should have let it go foul, but once he picked it up should have nailed Hamels in the back. Probably would have gotten the call. If not, at least the ball wouldn’t have gone into the outfield.
no way hamels screws up a four run lead. this is b.s.
Hamels is pitching lights out against this weak lineup. I hope the running he was forced to do will knock his concentration a little.
Jo-jo Reyes just cannot pitch in this ballpark especially against this team.
Cole Hamel's Glove
May 8th, 20097:45 pm
All you have to do is throw me out on the mound and the Braves are done!
anyone else think that hamels will no-hit the braves.
4 runs on 1 hit.
Wow, Cole Hamels is a damn cheater. Not only that, but the umpire lets him get away with it, and refuses to get assistance from the 1st base umpire. Then Hamels is shown in the dugout laughing about it. After that, I hope a Braves player hits a line drive and injures that stick figure and while in the process of trying to get to the ball, he tears his hamstring. Screw the Phillies.
honestly SWINGING at a 3-1 pitch and then K’ING?
May 8th, 20097:46 pm
Jo-Jo Reyes can not pitch period, Tomas.
Tommy Hanson please.
go figure…all hamels had to do to turn it around was face us. he already has 5 strikeouts!
I am beginning to hate the Phillies as much as I hate the Mets
no hitter im calling it right now.
May 8th, 20097:47 pm
its over just stop watching
Do you think the Phil hitters said prayers of thanks that the Braves put Jo-Jo out there instead of Hanson or Medlen?
May 8th, 20097:48 pm
I’m calling a 3 hitter and 12 K’s for King Cole, B-Macc Or Chipper will hit a meaningless Homer
May 8th, 20097:49 pm
I’m not sure it was going foul – it had a weird spin that looked like it might have stayed fair, and you can’t take that chance. That doesn’t excuse what happened next.
How about Schafer gets a minor injury and has to sit or DL? He makes me so mad whenever he is at bat. He cannot touch any above average MLB pitcher. Hurting wrist or not, he is unable to make contact to any fastball above the hands. I bet 90% of his strikeouts are on the same pitch(es). So embarrasing.
You’re welcome, Flange! Yeah, we had a great time!
Hope he goes deep tonight…but I’ll take an RBI double…
Timmy was the first to call him “four-eyes”…why am I not surprised?
Sad part of this is that it all could have been avoided if Esco makes a more than routine play.
Hope Hamels doesn’t pitch a perfect game at least.
CHIP CARRY....the biggest joke in all of baseball
did carry really just say that error on yunel was the first hit of the night for philly? he didnt did he?
and poor jo jo. dude does not have the mental toughness it takes to be successful at this level. one little thing goes wrong and he freaks out and all of sudden you are down four…or five…and sometimes 6. that is why you wont see jo jo in the bigs for much longer. dude just does not know how to shake things off. its sad because he has good stuff…. oh well, lets see if the braves can bounce back.
May 8th, 20097:50 pm
Jo Jo doesn’t have the mental game to pitch well
jo-jo sucks. when we see this rotation. tim hudson, derek lowe, jair jurrjens, javy vazquez, and tommy hanson. then give me a call cuz thats when the braves might become dangerous to face
Utley or Howard will probably hit a homerun
Jo Jo's Gonna Blow Blow
“Jo-Jo might have missed the “Damage Control 101″ class at pitching school….”
And that is why Jo Jo isn’t a quality Major League Pitcher. He’ll tease us with a few good innings and then blow up. He might occasionally throw in a respectable start, but it’s only a mirage. It’s his MO, always has been. At least he blew early tonight. Those aren’t the last runs the Phils are gonna score off Jo Jo.
May 8th, 20097:51 pm
get JOJO the hell out of here damn….
what are the waiting for – bring up T.HANSON already jesus christ!
trade JOJO out of here! spaz fup
May 8th, 20097:52 pm
What could the Braves get for Jo Jo in a trade?
May 8th, 20097:53 pm
How many games does JO-Jo have to lose before the Braves realize he stinks??? 20? 30? I’ve said all along that he’s garbage. No good reason for Hanson not to be making these starts.
It’s interesting that Sutton rambled on and on about how the cheaters who took steroids should not be elected to the HOF. Frankly, I agree with him, but didn’t Sutton get caught scuffing and putting foreign substances on the baseball? And isn’t Sutton in the HOF? Even though it’s a different method of cheating, it’s still cheating. It just comes off as being hypocritical.
JOJO REYES SUCKS
Gawd, Schafer Can’t Read balls for Shyt…! Man I miss A. Jones Out There That ball did carry however
May 8th, 20097:54 pm
Lol, some of you guys are crazy. Jo-Jo isn’t pitching that badly, Esco —–scratch that, he sucks
I think all Brave fans should boycott games pitched by Reyes.
I am so frustrated by this team. they cant seem to put it together for any stretch. We sweep the Marlins, thinking we may be turning the corner…..nope, they were just kidding..they still suck. This game is over.
everyone go home and wish that the braves dont become part of history as in a perfect game or a no hitter
Game Over, We Are Getting Clowned Now! This Sucks!
Maybe I won’t record the season finale of Dollhouse.
Up Down Up Down Up Down….The story that is JoJo Reyes…
Not sure he’s ever going to make it in the bigs.
bucket of s…….t
Well JoJo didn’t wait until the 6th today, he decided to get it over with quickly.
Guys calm down JoJo had his ONE bad inning. He’ll be fine
May 8th, 20097:55 pm
no idea y bobby cox hasnt pulled out jo-jo seriously
Does he have a perfect game going or just a no-no?
That was a rulebook homer right there.
Horacio Ramirez with a pencil beard
How many mangers leave their starter in when they’ve given up 6 runs?
Cox already conceded this game..
jojo- what a clown
May 8th, 20097:56 pm
Is it time yet to drill someone in the back?
I volunteer Hamels or Victorino!
Our #5 against their #1. If you had to pick a game in this series that we had the best chance of losing, i’d say it be this one. Its like the game the other day with the Mets with Johan and the Phils with Park. Not a real shocker here. The Phillies and their good offense pick on sub par pitching but get shutdown by good pitching.
There really isnt a point of taking him out if the game is already over, no reason to kill the pen on a loss.
I rest my case.
Error or not Jojo can’t pitch with runners on.
Tommy Hanson or Kris Medlen better be callup because waiting for Tom Glavine is not working.
Awesome Reyes. Just awesome.
Have to say after this performance Tommy Hanson will be making his debut this week and I couldnt be more excited
Bobby waved the white flag on this one when they didn’t call Hamels out on the swinging bunt…
we will win 14 to 0 perfect game hamels
May 8th, 20097:57 pm
Perfect game, MF.
Rob from SC-
My thoughts exactly!
“We,” Phanatic? Don’t pretend like you’re on the team you fat neck bearded loser.
May 8th, 20097:58 pm
wow. jo jo is just garbage…
but dont worry. booby will keep trotting him out there to get punished.
how many chances are we going to give reyes? one good game doesn’t make up for 4 or 5 bad ones. he has had more than enough starts to show that he needs to be outta here!!!!!!! can they please get someone else up here!!!!!!!!!
Until now I believed the Hanson or Medlen calls were premature, but Jo Jo needs to go.
Dangit!! You don’t pitch Ho-Ho against the Fillies! I don’t care what you hafta do to your rotation!
I do think Bobby has conceded the game. Why waste the bullpen for future games that have a closer score.
we love jojo, kawakami and vazques here in phily
JO JO DANCER: The minors are calling
Thanks for the memories you are welcome for the express delivery of Tommy Hanson via my awesome pitching. I will now soak myself in cognac, light a cigar and wait for Jim Brown to save me. Give mudbone my crab collection.
The always shakey,
Honestly even though Morton had a high era I’d rather have him up here instead of Jojo…he showed more promise.
Trivia question: Jair has to be one because all the rest home grown ones suck
May 8th, 20097:59 pm
He really isn’t pitching that badly. If he gets out of that inning, its still only 2-0…and probably wouldnt have even pitched to Howard or Worth yet. He is getting guys out.
Where is Matt Diaz?????????????????????????????
Isn’t he supposed to play against lefties??????
I really thought that Jo Jo would be a great pitcher. I WAS WRONG. He has no confidence. Our GM and Manager always wait too long for what us fans see much earlier
I love how the Braves get no hit so much that Chip has a schematic for how fans behave.
Yet again this team played with my emotions with that 2 game stretch down in Florida, Lets at least get a couple of runs and try to get back into it
Trivia: Who is the last Phils pitcher to throw a perfect game or no hitter against the Atlanta Braves?
May 8th, 20098:00 pm
we also love the braves power, kotchamn, schafer, escobar, prado!!!
Okay, el perfecto is over – they can’t stop us now.
we won’t win until we get a manager who is not afraid to hurt feelings
Is that Tim Tebow clocking pitches behind home plate?
May 8th, 20098:01 pm
Not Cole Hamels!!!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
