MIkey-Francoeur only performs when platooned or sits a game? Dude, he’s NEVER been platooned and has played every game this season and has only missed seven games the entire time he’s been up in the majors (and three of those when he was sent down). If you don’t like Frenchy, then fine, but get your facts straight.

“Mac said his glasses worked much better with the old mask today, still some fogging but it was manageable between innings. Said it’s just such a relief to hit without going up there worrying about just trying to see the ball like he did before he went on the DL. The glasses are doing the trick for him in that regard, for sure. He’s not having any problems seeing the ball with them.”
Sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but do you know if Mac was having trouble seeing the ball behind the plate or if it was just while hitting?

Not to mention that Francoeur has lead the majors in outfield assists since he was called up. Yeah-that’s just doing enough to get by. Kind of like his working out with instructors all winter to get his stroke back. Lazy SOB.

Yeah, that article about Diaz and Schafer was really good. Love Matty…Glad your wife got to give him the note!
Also sweet you both got to see BMac’s homer (I saw him hit one in person against the Cubs on Sept. 8, 2006). It was funny because right before Blanton threw the 2-1 pitch that Mac hit out, I said, “C’mon, hit a home run for Bruce!” Next pitch: OUTTA HERE!!!
Mac and Shane seemed to be chatting in friendly fashion, noticed that once when he came to the plate and there was a lull.
That’s int’resting. Well, after that collision BMac said they were buddies…ah, man, but that thing still give me the willies. Never watched the replay on the computer or nothin’…haven’t seen it since it happened, and I don’t ever plan to see it again…

Mc should be the Braves MVP at the end of the season……….this is another team with him on it. Not even chipper absence is felt as much, at least not this season.

Phils have their lineup stacked with lefties, including Stairs in RF.
Righties have actually hit better against Kawakami than lefties (.321/.409/.589 vs. .275/.362/.529, in just about same number of at-bats)

I like KK. LIke JoJo I am one of Patience. I think KK gets going in the second half of the season. This a huge change for him. Culture shock if you will. He is a professional, he’ll adjust.

This just cant be……..Cox is obsessed about KJ………the guy went 1 for 5. Whats the freaking need to bat him 1st? You are automatically the other team 1 out per game, because if there is a hitter that could have 5 plate appearances in a game it is KJ since he is leading of. Second of all, you diminish the chance for chipper and Mc to find runners on base. 3rd, he is a great hitter in the middle of the order, bat him 6th.
4th of all, yunel is the best hitter on the league with RISP, when is he gonna find people in scoring position if KJ is not getting on base nor advancing runners to scoring position?
Right now there is not difference between batting Schafer and KJ leadoff……..why not give it a try (schafer), specially since there is a lot of difference in batting KJ leadoff and 6th.
On the other hand we could try yunel hitting leadoff. Why? Because if the 7th or 8th hitter get on base and the pitcher does them bunting, then you will have yunel hitting and not KJ whom is not driving in anyone.

DOC, excellent point. I have been on the side on no for Yunie batting leadoff. He’s perfect for the 2 hole because he goes the other way soe well. If you bat KJ 7 or 8 he will produce better. With the pitcher sacrificing; KJ is in scoring position for Yunie to drive him in. Genious. Lead off is overated because it is only one at bat in a game.

I can still say that this lineup is great. The only change should be the switch between KJ and Schafer. GA hitter 4th and protected by Mc is a very good decision, I love it.
You just got to give it a Try, I mean, how worse can it be to bat Schafer leadoff? Maybe he is more comfortable there.

what a great series win! there is only one problem though….chipper is back to being his old self again. his fragile ways are going to kill this team. as soon as we have mcann and anderson back healthy he has to have a sore elbow. you really have to question his “want to” how could you come out of a one run game on the road against a division rival, especially when the game is so crucial to your team’s success? ill tell you how…you are sissy. he’ll be out for the next two or three games and when he comes back he will have yet another excuse for not succeeding. first it was the thumb and now its a sore elbow. what a joke this guy is. our biggest mistake was going ahead and giving him a contract this past offseason. i said it then and ill say it now….if you dont give him that contract he plays in 140 games this season. now, he will be lucky to see 105. lets pray infante and/or prado step it up. regardless of chipper’s girlie ways this was a truly great win for the braves and lets hope this jump starts a terrific run of great baseball. if we can take two of three from the mets and then get back home against the struggling diamondbacks and rockies we could climb into first…
first thing first….we need to payback the mutts for the two game sweep at turner field.
