I find it amusing that the Braves have a shortage of power when they had the chance to sign Gary Sheffield and Barry Bonds. Both guys were available for a mere bag of shells. You could have signed either or both guys for the major league minimum and probably lead the league in hitting. But instead of picking up some help, you dump Mark Texiera and get rid of some of our upcoming talent. Its foolish the way the Braves are being run and I will never watch another game again until they get it straightened out.

get a power hitting first baseman, send schafer back to the minors for more seasoning, bring up gregor blanco or brandon jones. they have both proven they can hit major league pitching.

Just hang on people we will be 15 games back by the first of June then the fire sale will begin.. Gone are Garrett Anderson, Jordan Schafer,and maybe Gonzo or Soriano. Yunel would be a possibility just because their aren’t that many SS that are as good as he is with the bat. – Ryan in TN

Really? Would you like to make a gentlemen’s wager, since I disagree with just about ever part of your statement?

I’ll say Braves won’t be half as many games out as you predict by first of June, and I’ll say there’s no way Schafer is traded then or at any point this season or next winte. Oh, and Soriano won’t be traded anytime soon, at least not until close to the trade deadline if at all, because no team is going to want to pay a big portion of his $6.1 mill salary this season.

Oh, and iif the Braves were shopping G. Anderson (which they aren’t, at least not yet), I don’t know of any team that would trade for him in early June before he’s even shown he can stay healthy.

Willy Wally, I am very white, and I can promise you the Braves will NEVER win the division, much less the World Series with Kelly Johnson at second base. HE CANNOT PLAY MAJOR LEAGUE DEFENSE! We must have good defense up the middle to win.

A lot of HaterAide for Kawakami,, while he hasn’t been great, he hasn’t been that bad. If the team would score runs for any of their pitchers they’d have a lot more wins. Kawakami has been unlucky in some of his starts and his last start gutted out 5 innings, and gave up 2 earned runs. While that isn’t exactly ideal, that is a pretty “quality start” for a guy with a sore shoulder. We should be able to win a game…after giving up only 2 runs in 5 innings pitched. KK is the team’s 4th starter, 5 innings pitched with 2 ER isn’t that bad for your 4th starter. Not ideal I know, but really cut the guy some slack.

I know it was a while ago, but someone was saying to send Schafer from first…on Prado’s hit to the left field wall. If Schafer would have been sent…he would have been tagged out about 15 feet from home plate. The relay man got the ball while Schafer was rounding third. Wouldnt even have been remotely close.

anderson will start hitting soon -singles and doubles-
brian mc will be the same and tha entire line up will fell a lot better, we are losing for a run or 2. with the other guys and changing the line up the team will be ok. schafer needs to bat 7 to get some kind of protection.

even our prospects like jordan, hanson, heyward, freeman and some other new guys. it will be a long process but it will pay off.

we will be like florida in 2 or 3 years and not like the cubs. big market, they spend money but almost never make tha playoffs (lately they have been ok)
