No worries. I was just poking a little fun at our “speed” guys. Agree 100% with your last post.

What’s the story (Steve in OH, you have the data, I am certain) on Matt Young up in Gwinnett? Is he close enough to give a shot?

Wow, then Wright hits one to almost the exact same spot. That little pocket of fans next to the batter’s eye in CF is getting more activity than the Braves and Vazquez would prefer.

Looks like the 40 or so stolen bases the Rays have this year have really pushed them into first place!

that would be somebody, though certainly not nobody with any sense

buit speed is great in baseball too, as long as the skills are also there to make best use of the tools

But not everyone sees it that way. Some would like to redefine the game to where the use of speed to steal bases is somehow “smaller” than using it as a feature or tool of the offense.

Wouldn’t it be nice if someone on our team could hit a homerun? Too bad. This anemic offense is still anemic. Bobby continues to throw the same guys out there and get the same results. Two hits so far in the game…not going to do. Hope the bats show up sometime soon.

Wow, a 1 run lead and all of a sudden the Mets have their swagger back. The question for the Mets is not whether they can come back its whether they can hold the lead, right? I know the Braves offense sucks but their pitchers need to know they are able to be picked up sometimes.

well you see Jeffy it takes a bit to warm up a pitcher and Javy was cruising till the wheels fell off in about 6 minutes. But hell, pull him anyway and let the reliever warm up while pitching the game. Why the hell not? Maybe we can start a whole new trend. Sigh.

Then our balls would land in the bullpen

What’s worse — two hits off a pitcher whose ERA is close enough to being an admissible SAT score for a football player at Alabama or just being a team composed mostly of spare parts?
I’m watching Ovechkin vs. Crosby instead. At least there’s some mystery as to how that will turn out. With this, there is none. This is a team that should aspire to be .500. It is not a championship caliber team, even with its starting pitching. It just isn’t. And I consider myself an optimistic Braves fan — but all I can think of is Sgt. Highway to his new squad in “Heartbreak Ridge”: “The Marine Corps is looking for a few good men. You ain’t it.”
Maybe they’ll get it turned around. Maybe.
