OK braves time to give them some insurance runs back
this team REALLY sucks
this team has a will to lose and lose they will
the mindset is long gone of “how will we win the game”
replaced by “how will we lose the game” which amounts to poor management, pathetic hitting, poor baserunning, slowest right fielder with no arm in right field, idiot center fielder chasing balls to the wall and thus turning doubles into triples, left fielder with ball in the lights issues sun, rain, or evening time games, no speed, no small ball, no adjustments or game plan when at the plate
If we lose 2 out of 3 to one of the worst teams in the NL…might be time to take a break from this team for awhile. This really is pathetic. No other way to put it.
If you haven’t been waffling on the blog about Reyes, then obviously I wasn’t talking about you. Others on here change their minds from inning to inning on a player.
Those are the folks I was complaining about.
For my money, I think we should hang onto Reyes to give him a decent shot to show he has matured.
Boyer was definitely NOT given that sort of a shot this year at all. Can’t determine with 2 of 3 bad outings on a pitcher. (yeah, yeah, I remember last year. But I also remember the first half of last year when Boyer was a gamer.)
Why not get creative and not just throw strikes in middle for that last run. Bobby never thinks outside the box. I bet you anything Kotchi was walked because of Schafer. We’re out managed again. OFF WITH COX’S HEAD.
Schafer is getting on base at a high rate. He has actually done well so far. If you tracked him in the minors, you knew he was going to strikeout a lot, not that it matters, since a strikeout is an out.
It’s the same people who complain about Schafer with the strikeouts who complained about Johnson when he K’d 117 times in 2007…..of course, he walked 76 times that year and had an on base of around .370, which is really good, and that is all that really matters.
Coach, do you think the Astros are a better team than the Braves, or do you just think they are more fundamentally sound? Or do you just like having a track star at the top of your batting order like Michael Bourn….who sucks.
Matt, Jeff321, TnBrian, TnJeff (and any other whiners). Please just go. I have heard enough of your bitchin and moanin. We all know the team is struggling, so either shut up, or go. Rarely do any of you have anything reasonably relevant to discuss.
I am just glad that Al Gore didn’t invent the internet 10 years earlier, as you folks would have went crazy in the 80’s!
More clarification on Garret Anderson, considering I just got some information from David O’Brien from over the weekend that helped me understand what’s going on. The Braves wanted him to go on an assignment, given how few at-bats he’s seen this season. He elected not to go, which doesn’t make them too happy. So that’s the deal. I’m not sure what it says about him in the bigger picture, I just know that they’d rather him get in the car, drive 30 minutes, and go see some live pitching. He doesn’t think he needs to, so we won’t. if he comes back Tuesday and rakes I’m sure all will be forgotten. If he struggles, maybe not so much.
I hope he’ll be alright, but if not, that’s a hell of a way for Doug Brocail to end his time as a ballplayer. Dude has had Tommy John, an appendectomy, and an angioplasty during his career.
Jeff explained what an insult it was for a major league player to have to go down to the lowly minor leagues. So Garret said, yeah man, i’m with you Jeff, they’re gonna have to drag me kickin and screamin.

You’re right. Calling a .500 team “pathetic” is optimistic.
Astros’ four sacrifice flies is one off the record for sacrifice flies in a game, which is five. The record for sacrifice bunts in a game is eight. Not sure about the combination of the two.
Those last two pitches to Omar, if thrown by a Braves pitcher, would have had every person in the park, including a profanity-spewing Bobby, angry about how the ump was squeezing us.
Ortiz can’t throw strikes. Too bad Esco had to hack at the first 2 pitches he saw. (and I don’t mean to cross over to the dark side, Steve in OH – I’m not hatin’, I’m just sayin’);
