everytime we come back, we give it back up. Come on boys
Frank from KS
Oh god no….(Lmao)
Nothing like good walks

Seriously, this team sucks.
Stolen base on a pitch out. Ross dropped the ball on the transfer.
Now they’re intentionally walking Berkman.
This team is looking more and more like a team from the 80s every day.
Get rid of Kelly Johnson
We should have kept Nick Green!
someone tell me why a guy hitting .174 gets an intentionall walk
May 3rd, 20093:38 pm
Bourn steals third. Takes it without a throw. Pitiful.
Brad Penney is a fat tub of goo
Glad we didn’t get that loser.
Glad Schafer is out of the leadoff spot
Efrim- you should see if you can get a job with the Braves u would be a great coach
Sac fly gets the runner in.
See how easy ABC baseball is…LEARN
May 3rd, 20093:39 pm
“someone tell me why a guy hitting .174 gets an intentionall walk”
To set up a possible double play.
Mother F@#!kers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the BRAVES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yo Braves, when you take the lead and/or tie the game, how ’bout not blowing it the very next inning???
Um…we are a team like Houston but we don’t steal apparently
May 3rd, 20093:40 pm
That is what speed can do for a team. Must be nice
abwright- maybe he should have thrown it… into center field
Carroll Rogers job is a soul-numbing task
Chronicalling the exploits of losers and goo-boys.

Today, when there’s any kind of break (between innings, change pitcher etc.), it stays on break. I have to cancel it and then log in all over again. I keep missing parts of innings. If the inning is short enough, it could be back to break again. Fortunately, I have satellite radio, so I’m not missing the action. To sum it up, MLB compucast SUCKS (thanks for teaching me that, McFann)
You guys can post all you want but until Bobby is gone its going to be this year after year. Not fair to the fans or organization that one man (very old washed up man) is holding the Braves back from moving forward.
i cant take it anymore
nice inning. Time to go cut grass
May 3rd, 20093:42 pm
See, stealing bases is not necessarily “small ball”. Put pressure on the defense and good things will happen.
against Carlos Lee, a flyball hitter with Moylan not pitching too well
Maybe Tim Lincecum’s dad can take Jo Jo Reyes to his back yard and teach him how to pitch.
Glad Schafer is out of the leadoff spot, 3:40 pm, “abwright- maybe he should have thrown it… into center field”
No. Moylan should have held the runner on second, so that he didn’t get such a lead that he could take third without a throw.
Coach (2010 or bust)
More sound fundamental baseball from the Astros. 6-4 Houston.
May 3rd, 20093:43 pm
Chopper up the middle. Moylan neither catches the ball nor lets it go. 1st and 2nd, 2 out.
Is there any reason why there is NOBODY warming up in our BP?
May 3rd, 20093:44 pm
abwright- well should call the Braves and give them ur input I’m sure they will care what you think.
Cox already conceded the game.
Morton takes that loss for Gwinnett
May 3rd, 20093:45 pm
SSSSSHHHH , Steve in Ohio doesn’t understand speed, stolen bases, bunts. sac flies.
ABC baseball is beyond his understanding.
“No. Moylan should have held the runner on second, so that he didn’t get such a lead that he could take third without a throw.”
Didn’t we have a pitchout on? A runner going to 3rd is almost dead to rights on that play… if the catcher doesn’t drop the ball.
Send Peter Moylan back to the outback
Dude is giving up an earned run per inning!
Rob from SC
can we call up Medlen and Morton for our pen. We need Strikeout guys besides Soriano and Gonzalez
Moylan strikes out Pence to end the inning.
Escobar, Jones, Francoeur up in the bottom of the seventh.
May 3rd, 20093:46 pm
braves pitch out and still can’t throw the runner out stealing second – is there any fundamental that this team does well?
This team has a will to lose and lose they will
Run Heap Run
There’s a big difference in “gifts” and “fundamental baseball”. Moylan was in a generous, gift giving mood today.
I’m so glad that we ran into the Astros when our resident geniuses assured us that they were having more trouble than the Braves scoring runs. Might have been embarrassing otherwise.
Steve from OH
And logic is beyond yours, Coach. But it’s ok. We’ll see how the Astros’ ABC baseball strategy pays off this season…
Pretty doggone easy to steal when Moylan is daydreaming on the mound…
May 3rd, 20093:47 pm
mbatl The pitch out was on Bourn’s steal of second. After the intentional walk to Berkman, Bourn stole third uncontested, I think on the first pitch after the IBB.
May 3rd, 20093:50 pm
Half of this room in here everyday bashing the braves and how they play…. Any team is not gonna win everyday all the time… But I understand this is a blog. And people can say what they wanna. Some people are not true fans…. A true fan is with their team all the time win and lose,
This once again reminds of last year … get the pitching, can’t get the runs … get some runs, can’t get the pitching
Yunel starts the seventh with a hit to right field.
Chipper at the plate.
abwright, your’re right… my bad…
Hey, on Moylan, the guy has been very good since his first two outings. He still doesn’t have his command back completely. Plus, sometimes pitchers give up runs. Sorry to make excuses, but I think he’ll be okay. Just need a 3-run homer and all will be fine!
Chipper follows with a line drive to right field.
1st and 2nd, no one out. Frenchy at the plate.
May 3rd, 20093:51 pm
Ya know, with all the injuries to Chipper (early), Anderson, and with McCann’s vision problem…..makes me think of Lou Brown from Major League 2 right before he had the heart attack in the lockeroom.
“It’s either a leg thing, or a spiratural thing,………”
Hey Steve, they’re winning. Get a damn clue.
May 3rd, 20093:52 pm
Frenchy flies out to center. No movement on the part of the statues at 1st and 2nd.
Tom O’Hawke– I have not had the problem you describe since the first few days of the season. I know how difficult it is to contact them on phone or email, but give it a try fairly early in the daytime, like tomorrow morning. Also, your broadband connection might well be weak. That has been a problem for me in the past, when DSL modem had issues, or signals from Verizon had problems
I think Jo Jo pitched in tough luck today
“A true fan is with their team all the time win and lose,”
And “true fans” are wackos with no lives
May 3rd, 20093:53 pm
They’re 10-14, dude.
May 3rd, 20093:54 pm
Prado strikes out swinging. The statues at first and second continue to acquire pigeon droppings.
Diaz (of the .223 average) at the plate.
Yeah and most of yall have no lives either……….
Bobby Cox's Brain
Maybe I should have used Kotchman instead of Prado there….
Of course, right after I wrote that about improved quality on computer transmission, it stalled for a couple of minutes.
Wouldn’t that make them dead?
May 3rd, 20093:55 pm
Good for Matt Diaz. Glad to see him having a good day.
Diaz hits a line drive to left. Berkman slips in the outfield. Escobar scores. Chipper to third.
Kotchman to pinch hit for Ross. I guess Sammons will come on in the eighth.
We need a balk or something!
May 3rd, 20093:56 pm
I’d like to add to your post…if I may.
With all the gripping, b&^%hing that goes on….it could be worse. How’d ya all like it if we were Pirates fans? They’ve been worthless since 92. SO I think we have it better than some fans…albeit not good, but better than some.
That 1 out to 2 out hitting with RISP has to do with guys trying to do too much with less than two outs…like hitting a HR. That’s what I think and oh yeah, we need Mac’s butt in that lineup ASAP!!
Loaf Garret on a blackberry from the clubhouse
I have a great life, thanks.
May 3rd, 20093:57 pm
Are you two having trouble with MLB Video using Nexdef? I have it turned off and haven’t really had any problems at all today.
That said, last year Nexdef was much better.. So, even though the quality isn’t as good with only 4 bars.. Its usually reliable.
Yeah me also!
Full count to Kotchman. “Logan” Schafer on deck.
May 3rd, 20093:58 pm
lets see what schafer can do
What, Ross can’t hit right-handers? Phooey.
Be patient Schafe!
May 3rd, 20093:59 pm
Meanwhile, Kotchman’s avg against righties is lower than his overall avg.
he is 0-2 today
By the way did anyone see Miguel Olivio steal home last night…lol
I will be convinced that TP is not doing his job if Schafer K’s here. Boog just said that they’ll likely bust him in, so we’ll see.
The Krotch works the count back from 1-2 to draw a walk. Diaz to second.
Schafer needs to be patient here. He’s gotten bitten by the strike out bug lately and Geary has not been that close to the strike zone.
maybe schafer is in a slump. needs to break out of it
May 3rd, 20094:00 pm
Schafer overswings on a 91 mph fastball out of the zone.
Fouls back the next pitch.
0-2 on Schafer.
Meanwhile, Ross’ avg against righties is .296 compared to .200 against lefties.
I’m fully convinced now.
and a strike out! go schafer
he can’t touch that pitch
Schafer strikes out swinging. Time for the rookie to make another adjustment.
classic braves choke
May 3rd, 20094:01 pm
No excuses “Logan.” You looked TERRIBLE!!
honestly the only way I think he’d be able to hit that is to back off the plate some.
show us you belong Schafer
And with that strike out maybe they need to move him back to the leadoff spot!
Why did Schafer look so shocked after that swing. Time to adjust buddy, they have you figured out
Logan looks lost right now.
May 3rd, 20094:02 pm
WHEN is it going to be time to send Schafer down??????????? He is obviously not ready to play at the big league level, at least offensively.
May 3rd, 20094:03 pm
How’d ya all like it if we were Pirates fans?
We’d be talkin’ abaht dem Stillers. (in the voice of Myron Cope)
2 K’s in that inning by a pitcher who normally gets 1 every 2 innings.
May 3rd, 20094:04 pm
The walk to Kotchman in order to pitch to the rookie (Schafer) blew Bobby’s strategy all to hell.
Cox got his ass handed to him in that bit of managerial skulldudgery.
Schafer is doing nothing but hurt us with all these strikeouts!!!!!!!!! **He hasn’t even driven in a run since the third game in Philly!!!!!** I’m afraid the Braves have jumped the gun yet again.
And just think Matt alot of people on this blog was crying for him to be in the leadoff spot!
May 3rd, 20094:05 pm
Matt–you could not be more wrong…
Lead off double, Watch the Astros bunt the runner to third.
May 3rd, 20094:06 pm
The Braves are inconsistent in their evaluations … Hanson excels in spring and they send him down for more seasoning. Schafer excels in spring and they trade away his only competition.
May 3rd, 20094:07 pm
Sac runner to third, just as I said they would.
