uh oh. Ryan may have pulled his hammie for St. Louis trying to leg out that play.
“Right Shoulder Fatigue.”
I didn’t know that’s what they were calling throwing meat these days.
April 29th, 20098:29 pm
Braves are 4-2 in their last six games before this one, despite hitting .240 in that stretch and scored two runs or fewer four times (had a 1-0 win and a 2-1 win)
April 29th, 20098:30 pm
“Right Shoulder Fatigue” is only the name in the National League. In the American League, it’s an “Injured Toe” (Wang of the Yankees).
April 29th, 20098:31 pm
Escobar didn’t seem to go all out on that but all I saw was the replay
Run Heap Run
Hey photography/artsy people – bookmark this guy, most of these were taken in rural georgia. Very nice work.
April 29th, 20098:32 pm
Vazqyez imploding in 3…2….
April 29th, 20098:33 pm
Amazing what kind of inning you can have when you hit and run.
You know, I’d occasionally like to see the pitch and not that obnoxious camera angle from the Suntrust club.
April 29th, 20098:34 pm
Got to be an uncomfortable feeling for a corner infielder charging the plate on what they think will be a bunt and the batter pulls the bat back and swings…Make ya grab a handful of grass and pray for a swing and miss…. Or at least hope they hit it the other way.
April 29th, 20098:35 pm
Hmm…maybe leaving out the / had something to do with it…we should run some tests…
For bolding and italicizing, try this link. Hope it works for ya!
April 29th, 20098:36 pm
TJ …. save this link ..http://img512.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot20090319183440.tif
this will show you what you want to know.
McCann is 1-2 with a double, and walk, and a run scored, BTW.
cmon Vazquez!!.you only have to get…gulp…Pujols now…
He’s been held in check, but you don’t let him beat you.
Walk Pujols, even though you move the runners up! Rather pitch to Duncan.
EROD……Vasquez imploding?????????? If ignorance is bliss you must be one happy mofo!!!!!!!
i knew this was going to happen..
April 29th, 20098:37 pm
this is just a test
Slow game today or is it just me?
Just peppering him with dink singles to CF
Yeah, I’d hate to be a 3b having to charge what I thought was a bunt. Furcal used to be the best at showing bunt and then “punching” a hit….I actually saw him “bunt” for a triple once….over the 3rd baseman’s head, and by the time the left fielder got there he was sliding into 3rd.
April 29th, 20098:38 pm
Alright…take him out.
They aint exactly knocking the cover off the ball lol
Death by a thousand cuts. Javy still isn’t throwing that bad.
Sooo whats that again brvs1fan???….
We always have to give it back, dont we?
April 29th, 20098:39 pm
Yep, that was it.
I’ve tried 7 times to send out that link. The blog just won’t let me do it.
that’s a lot of trouble, isn’t it? yes it is boy, I hope it got that right or it’s gonna look really stupid in the post…well, here goes nothing…
It’s a slow game..last night game was over by 9:30 ATL time
April 29th, 20098:40 pm
why did he cut that off…
THAT WAS STUPID!
Man they’re blooping Vazquez to death.
Comeon get ankiel and his trashy moustache
Someone tell the offense we are going to need at least a couple more tonight. Ok, at least 3 more…..
dang should that have been cutoff?
Gil In Mechanicsville
Okay, let’s get those runs back…
At least the Mets lost and the Nats are beating the Phillies.
why on earth did that ball get cut off?
April 29th, 20098:41 pm
Ankiel was the only hard hit ball of the inning.
What was up with Kotchman on that cut? Did you see Ross jump up like he was shot when Kotchman cut it? Ross didn’t seem to be a happy camper with the cut.
so he did implode..huh?…4 ER…6 Hits in just 1 inning….it doesnt matter if they are bloops..a hit is a hit..
WTF??? I get up to go put on a fresh pot ‘o joe, come back, and the wheels have come off!
cool! (on the bold and italics, not what was happening in the game)…Thanks McFann….Like you said Tom O’Hawke, good teacher….
They’ve not been hit well but the inning was set up by being aggressive on the base paths early in the inning instead of just playing dead there and waiting for the three-run homer that doesn’t come.
April 29th, 20098:42 pm
when in one AB you all of a sudden face a different hitter that can mess with ya.
Man, the Braves finally score a few runs on some gifts from the Cards and Vazquez implodes!
April 29th, 20098:43 pm
On the replay, play at the plate would have been close, not a gimme out like I thought when I first saw it.
Javy just had what i like to call..a Kawakami inning.
Kotchman must’ve forgotten who was running. Pujols would’ve been out.
Well they got lucky that inning.
April 29th, 20098:44 pm
Looks like Frenchy had Pujols dead to rights at home, but I don’t see how Kotchman would’ve known that in the moment…
Erod Vasquez gave up 3 pop up singles. Maybe you should try sex with a woman to calm u down
Good grief it seems like it’s the frickin 8th and it’s only the bottom of the 5th
April 29th, 20098:45 pm
well at least Casey got a hit
casey another hit….
I guess Chipper doesn’t want to get some walks tonight. Better work the count Chipper!!!!
Sid Bream gets another hit!
Once again, Kotchman will lead this team in hits!
April 29th, 20098:46 pm
Yeah, TJ, she’s the best! And you’re a fast learner, also.
Actually, catcher is supposed to make the “cut” call, since that was where the throw was coming. From his reaction, don’t think Ross yelled “cut it.”
Rob from SC
Does Kotchman only get hits with nobody on base
EROD=dumass….it does matter otf they are bloops
Kotchman! Professional Singles Hitter!!!!!
I thought the throw was up the rf line, and that Kotch got a much-needed out by cutting it off. Oh well, who knows?
April 29th, 20098:47 pm
Ah, I stepped away for a second and we’re down 5-3! I guess Bobby Cox forgot to read the part of this blog pertaining to YANKING A PITCHER.
April 29th, 20098:48 pm
Tom O’Hawke It’s not the learning that’s the problem with me. It’s the “remembering”…
That was one heck of an at bat by Francoeur.
despite the fact the lyrics make no sense, “Ashes of American Flags” is an amazing song. One of Wiloc’s best, maybe right behind “How to Fight Loneliness” and “Pie Holden Suite”
I agree brvs1fan. Bloops indicate it probably won’t keep up and he can give us a few more innings. Hard hit balls indicate it might be time for the showers.
While Kotchman has no HRs, his 9 doubles is one off of the MLB leading total of 10 — so he isn’t just a singles hitter.
The bigger question is what are the Braves and Cox thinking putting a power hitter Chipper in front of singles/doubles hitter. Most managers in little league know better, but not the Braves.
Good point Joe.
Jeff321=dumass!!!! look before u talk bitch
April 29th, 20098:49 pm
BRAVES have to win against the CARDINALS.
April 29th, 20098:50 pm
I love that the commentary on Frenchy is not that he is doing so well… but that he has not struck out in 36+ AB.
Ankiel looks like Kenny Chesney…..and yea, I hate country.
TY RC he has good stuff but things happen
Josh Anderson just struck out for the Tigers.
I would also add to that why is Diaz batting .220 hitting against a righthander instead of Brandon Jones? Lots of stupid things the Braves do now a days
I saw a quote from Hudson where he said he might try to “Come back sooner and help in the bullpen.” Do you know if there has been any serious talk of that, or is it still way too early to tell?
April 29th, 20098:51 pm
Be nice for Shaf to get us at least one of these runs.
At least Kotch will get a head start….. he needs it!
April 29th, 20098:52 pm
Loaded for Ross!
Looks like Wainwright is trying to give those runs back to us.
C’mon Ross, how about a double in the corner?
April 29th, 20098:53 pm
They said Kwakami has shoulder fatigue. Isn’t this just April?
Very nice, brvs1fan! If you have anything else crafty to say — feel free.
April 29th, 20098:54 pm
Ok….Professional Doubles Hitter with no men on base…still means no production.
Molina Is On Crack
April 29th, 20098:55 pm
I wish Corky Miller was up to bat now!
I hear you. That’s why I’ve been trying to use it as much as I can. (Much to the chagrin of the other bloggers.)
BTW, nolie is a pretty good teacher, also. His rates are a little higher though.
Necromancer- He was also skipped a turn in the rotation in spring training for the same “shoulder fatigue” as well. Scary.
April 29th, 20098:56 pm
JEFF true is true
April 29th, 2009
somebody has to get on to score….
with regards to Kawakami- if memory serves, japanese leagues typically use a 6 man rotation…KK may just need to get better adjusted with pitching every 5th day instead of every 6th…just a thought
