DOB: Yeah, they had asked who on the team was a Metallica fan? Turns out its Greg “The Head” Norton. Then they said, in a non-baseball context, they had heard that “our Braves writer”, or “the AJC Braves writer” really like a group from Atlanta called Manchester Orchestra.
That oughta put you in gratis MO CDs for their whole career!!
If he were to get a Lasik touch up, he’d have to go back to Atlanta, I believe. They would have to DL him so as to bring in a second catcher. He’s probably good to catch right now (even without the contact).
I suspect that they’re hoping the contact will do the trick once Mac has a chance to get comfortable. If not, when they get back to ATL, they can DL him retroactively to the last time he played.
I’m betting Schafer will get a chance with Kelly at bat. Take a chance. If you make an out, then KJ leads off the next inning. If you make it, you’re in scorring position with two out and a contact hitter at the plate.
we should all be keeping an eye on garret anderson. i cant prove it, but i’m pretty suspicious of him, having watched his lame efforts this year. i’ll bet within a week of coming back from the DL, he “tweaks” either his quad or calf. i just dont think he wants to play, and, at this point, i’m hoping brandon jones tears it up when he gets to atlanta, and stays here.
Crap! Cant’ we even try to get a running game going?
DOB, has Bobby ever said he was against a running game? I remember when Grissom was with the Expos, he stole something around 70-80 bases a year. When he came to Atlanta, he went downto like 30-40 per year. Is this just a philosophy of Bobby’s or what?
Bobby is such a great manager. Let’s not steal with Schafer…a 1-run lead is good enough for us. If they had hit and run there…The SS might not have gotten to that hit by KJ. Please do something to get guys around and in.
