Hey DOB – add this to your post about the last runs coming on bases loaded walks. If the 2 – 1 lead holds up, KJ has two game winning RBI’s in a row, both on bases loaded walks.

Vazquez sucking…leaving balls right over the middle of the plate this inning. Braves offense needs to come up big…it wont…see how long we stay tied.

Volquez has a no-hitter!?

How did I miss that?

Way to go Ross. Not like McCann would have thrown him out though.

abwright

Strikes him out looking with a nice bender into the middle of the plate. 4th is in the books. Braves and Reds are tied 2-2.

Looks like Vazquez lost a little concentration with the lead in that inning. Hope he gets it back together before the next inning.

McCann has eye issues. No idea what the hell Bobby is doing not pitching around him. Already had a runner on third….and if they take out their start in the 4th hopefully you get to their pen. The guy is no hitting us and all. Terrible managing especially when our offense has been sucking.

bravos11 – McCann’s not playing because he’s still adjusting to his new contact lens. He took BP but didn’t feel comfortable (I guess).

I take back what I said about the Braves not being able to score a run. Any offense with Casey Kotchman as the cleanup hitter if formidable.

Wil

He didn’t pitch around him because originally there was a pinch hitter on deck for Volquez, when they scored they removed the pinch hitter and put Volquez in.

Wayne

He was scratched from the lineup due to discomfort in that eye. He took BP, but he was experiencing that discomfort, so they took him outta the game.

Mark Bowmen just posted a thing an hour ago that said “his status for the final two games of this weekend’s series against the Reds appears doubtful.”

He’s likely gonna undergo another “evaluation” in Atlanta within the next few days, least that’s what I hear. Might hafta have that surgery sooner.

Why would you want to walk the second worst hitter in the lineup to get to the worst hitter??? That would be the move of a team that has little confidence in their pitcher.

Granted, it might have helped this time, but walk Gonzalez???? Nah.

I suspect the Braves are in a wait and see mode on McCann until they get him back to ATL on Monday.

While we can still win or lose this one, it is good to get their bullpen, though they have been pitching OK as of late. Let’s hope JV gets at least through the 6th, and 7th ideally.
