P-town that’s what I’ve been preaching as well…Esco 1—cuz of the DPs Schafer 2 cuz of his speed and Chipper behind him…and KJ in the 4,5,6 spot due to his power.
Il Cativo – Campillo declared his arm was dead. He pitched winter ball and WBC. I have very low expectations from him for weeks. He is probably not on the 60 day DL, but effectively will be, in my opinion.
Yeh because…McCann has been a much better fielding catcher and hitting catcher compared to Ross this year? Grow up…Ross is hitting better and throwing runners out better.
How in the world can anyone think that Tim Hudson has any trade value whatsoever right now??? The guy is coming off of surgery on his pitching arm!!!!!! No one is going to give the Braves anything of value for a guy that at best will be back in August and even if he is back by then there is no way to know if he will be anywhere near effective.
And the Brewers trading Ryan Braun??? Can I have a puff cause that must be some gooood bud!! They would listen if Hanson, Heyward, Freeman, or someone of that calibar prospect (and it would probably take more than one of them if Hanson wasn’t included) was offered to them, but why in the world would the Braves do a trade for him involving those guys?? They wouldn’t even give them up for Jake Peavy.
Lew you’re dead on concerning the Mets’ spending significant money at this point. I have read the tens (or hundreds?) of millions of the Wilpons’ money was stolen by Bernie Madoff. Their remaining money is likely not in Kruggerands either. Down economy, too. Yours is the safe bet.
geez, got the radio on, and Don Sutton’s story about Volquez’s first name has to be the longest, most boring monologue I’ve ever heard (and it’s still going). I know Sutton’s “familiar” to a lot of Braves’ fans, but he just makes me wish for silence.
Metro Man — Fella, you really have to do some research before hammering Hanson for his AAA performance. The guy was lights out in his first two starts and gave up a few runs in his 3rd start. Absolutely pitiful run support is why he is 0-2. Braves brass and his fans couldn’t care less about his won-loss down there. I’ve seen the guy pitch twice now and I can tell you that your mets will be in for something special come July or so. Oh yeah, did I mention you get to hit against Hudson also come Aug./Sept. I can hardly wait…
Top of the first play by play.
KJ strikes out.
Yunel strikes out.
Chipper hits a slow roller to SS. Fortunately (for the Reds), they had a slow runner to throw out.
So damn smart to keep the 2 coldest hitters batting in front of chipper………. Could you please change at least 1……old man………..change yunel because if not ill be hearing from lots of cry babies on this blog.
Too early to start b*tching? Bobby puts the same struggling lineup in…and they look like garbage. Infante and Prado 1,2 in the lineup looks better and better every game. That or throw Schafer in…he couldnt suck any worse than those two jokers.
Oh and MLBTV sucks again…they are supposed to have Boog…and whoever he is usually with…but they are having audio problems…so i think they just gave the radio feed with it.
Speaking of Hudson he has an interesting contract. A club option for 2010(12M) which the braves will pick up if he is healthy. However he can void the club option. Thank God Boras isnt his agent. It will be interesting to see what happens with Huddy.
Vazquez is clearly the worst pitcher in the history of major league baseball (despite the K’s) – I’m sure we won’t score for the next week – and even if we do, the bullpen will give up 1,234,567 runs over the course of the week (and don’t get me started on Ed Norton and Pam Anderson). On top of that, Bobby will change every pitcher incorrectly (with McDowell’s input), and Snitker will wave in too many people (or hold up too many people). And Frenchy will never walk again. But I still like Yvonne Strahovski (sorry for a positive comment). Okay, I’ve gotten that out of my system – just trying to fit in here.
Wow…its about time to start worrying about this lineup! And what is the ump doing not calling strikes down the middle…and then all the sudden calling strikes on the corners when Ross was up?
Even though I was one of Frenchy’s biggest haters last season (and not really hate, just you know, frustrated baseball fan hate) and even though it’s early, I’m officially sold. He’s a different guy up there this season. As much as he got under my skin with his attitude about going to MS last season I’m glad to see he’s worked whatever it was out.
