April 25th, 20092:06 pm
Hariston ejected for arguing strike three!
Now Dusty’s gone! HAHAH
Steve from OH
Lowe K’s Hairston Jr, who is ejected for arguing. Baker tossed too. It didn’t look like a strike, but was close.
April 25th, 20092:07 pm
found a radio station…Thanks for your efforts Steve!
April 25th, 20092:08 pm
sounds like Esterbrook has a bit of a shot temper today
Ok, I’ll do a Dusty and take the rest of the afternoon off.
cabravesfan …… http://www.freebaseballradio.com/Atlanta.html
Frank…Erin Andrews is a gaytor though
Run Heap Run
April 25th, 20092:09 pm
Some of yall are taking what Chipper said far too personally….
DOB, ever regret telling the blog some things?
cabraves, you’re missing a beauty. That sucks. For the cost of extra ticket there shouldn’t ever be blackouts…
Yeah! Hairston ejected! Haha! What a baby!
Nice quick, 1-2-3 inning for Lowe!
Wow, Baker’s language had my ears singed from 10,000 miles out. Surprised the stadium is still standing.
He’s right, tho’. This ump is atrocious.
April 25th, 20092:10 pm
Corky- DOB with the MUNCHIES?
A KANSAS grad? I personally find this hard to believe.
April 25th, 20092:11 pm
Run Heap Run-
I know. it drives me crazy but nothing I can do about it…It’s only hte saturday day games, but the Braves seem to be playing a lot of those this year
April 25th, 20092:12 pm
This ump is none too hot. If the tv angle can be trusted at all.
Tom O, I tried to use the link but what station should I use. All the ones I tried dont have the game on?
Tokyo, what channel are you watching the game on?
April 25th, 20092:13 pm
I’m thinking it may be time to sit kelly for awhile….
April 25th, 20092:14 pm
wspg 1400 works for me
Runnin’ – AFN. The feed is from the Cincy FSN station.
April 25th, 20092:15 pm
Yunel plunked on the hand. Here we go again?
That didn’t look intentional honestly.
April 25th, 20092:16 pm
Was his reaction for this one? This one looked like it just got away.
If Arroyo gets thrown out, and the Braves appeal to have him kept in? We are killing this guy.
Should have been CAN the Braves appeal…
Are you kidding me? escobar hit again, in left hand it appeared.
I thought ump tossed Arroyo, but apparently he was just signaling for Escobar to go to first base.
April 25th, 20092:17 pm

so they are goin got let arroyo get away with hitting Yunel?
My 2 cents on the plunkings:
1. Escobar did over-react last night. Say “thanks” for the free base, take it like a man, go to first base, and get your revenge with the bat.
2. Chipper was wrong to call out his teammate in the press. Keep it in the clubhouse. It’s the same syndrome we had with Smoltz, where these veterans think their status gives the the right to publicly rip their teammates.
3. Lowe was spot-on for retaliating. May not be “fair” (who knows if Escobar was hit on purpose) but builds a lot of respect in the clubhouse.
Ha! And now Esco gets hit again!
AFN? I’ve got SkyPerfect but not many Japanese channels.
Chop It Up All-star
Damn is Esco wearing a target?
April 25th, 20092:18 pm
Did anybody see if a warning was issued that time? Because if not, we might see Lowe have an “accident” next inning….
This ump wants to get on TV today!
April 25th, 20092:19 pm
Rc, warnings were already issued, there is no second warning.
Vabravesfan, Got it thanks!!!!!!!
Can I ask why Volquez would have plunked Escobar on purpose?
Maybe I missed that in all of this. Is there bad blood between them for some reason?
I think Lowe reveived a warning in the first, meaning he would get tossed if he hit someone else
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess that exactly none of you will get this reference but…
Bronson pitches exactly like that girl in Twilight with the leg kick.
Hey, I have a teenage daughter, I get a pass on that.
Did Esco charge the mound again? lol
April 25th, 20092:20 pm
I think ump was emphatic because some might have thought it hit the bat, not his hand.
April 25th, 20092:21 pm
a643dp … I don’t know, I’m watching the game. cabravesfan found it, we’ll ask her. Hey cabravesfan, can you help a643dp(2:12) out?
This is the worst umpire i’ve seen. FSN Reds say he is just a minor league umpire filling in. His strike zone is so inconsistent, he issued a warning, then Arroyo hits Escobar(who was the one that started all this yesterday), and he doesn’t toss Arroyo out of the ball game.
P-Town Brave (Let Your Bobby, TP, Snitker, Chino Go)
No, no mound charging today…Although he may have to do so soon and give an *ss beating just so that everyone knows what will happen if you throw at him inside…
One thing I’ve learned over the years, don’t mess with Cuba!
DirtyYuni, Joe Simpson (I think it was Joe) said he asked Escobar about any history between him and Volquez. Absolutely none; “I don’t know him and he doesn’t know me” was the jist of it; and Esco has never hit a HR or anything against Volquez. I can’t find any reason he’d have hit him on purpose last night.
Escobar needs to start hitting them up the middle “hard” again.. My favorite has to be where he almost takes the pitcher’s head off..Then, these guys won’t be so quick to hit him.
D Lowe sure pitches smart when is sinker is off.
April 25th, 20092:22 pm
Yikes…Lowe might need to do a sharpnel check after that broken bat. Nice moves to get out of the way…
April 25th, 20092:23 pm
Don’t mess with Cuba, huh? Or what, they’ll put an embargo on themselves, lol?
Martin Prado? The answer to the AFLAC trivia question….LMAO!
Dominicans don’t like Cubans…’nuff said.
That bat almost hit D. Lowe. Completely schadered into pieces.
April 25th, 20092:24 pm
Mbatl-thanks, man. Seems really weird that Volquez would have been going after him for no reason. Maybe he got blinded by the frosting on Yuni’s tips.
April 25th, 20092:25 pm
I found the game on the link you gave me Tom O’Hawke …listening on the 3rd choice down, WFIS 1600 (no idea where it is located)
Well, he could just use Matt Diaz’s “I lost it in the lights”
is = his.
Typing = not so much.
April 25th, 20092:27 pm
Gameday is actually ahead of the radio broadcast
April 25th, 20092:28 pm
Runnin- AFN is the Armed Forces Network, a collection of channels the U.S. military pipes into its bases overseas, which can also often be accessed by folks working at our embassies and consulates.
Another weak out for Francoeur today…
Not quite ready to concede he is back just yet…
Chipper told Escobar after the game, that there was no intention. They were not going to hit him to get to Chipper in a 1run game. Plus there was no history between Volquez and Escobar. Escobar has been hit because of what he does in the undeck circle, and the way he throws the bat after an at bat. I think it was the Marlin broadcaters that said that they felt Escobar was showing up the pitcher by doing that.
Thanks for everyone who mentioned the 2nd inning warning. I wasn’t in front of the TV yet at that point so didn’t realize there was already one issued.
April 25th, 20092:29 pm
1-2-3 inning for Arroyo.
This just in:
Matt Diaz is really struggling…
April 25th, 20092:31 pm
cabravesfan & a643dp ….. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a bit behind in reading the posts. That’s why I keep answering questions that have already been answered. If everyone would stop posting for 5 minutes, I might get up to speed.
BTW, did you guys see that Obama won the election?
Not quite ready to concede he is back just yet… ” -Ptown
Don’t you think that’s exactly what a legitimate comeback would look like? It takes a hard, awkward grind to change habits.
April 25th, 20092:33 pm
Is it just me or has Yunel stopped doing the big bat flip? I haven’t noticed it once this season. And I’ve been looking.
And you’re just as ignorant as the Marlins announcers if you truly believe that…
Esco’s on deck routine doesn’t have anything to do w/ it, especially considering he hasn’t even been doing that lately.
Not only that, a bat flip would only drive opposing ppl nuts if the guy hit a homerun and probably multiple ones at that…
Considering Yunel doesn’t hit many, that makes that a moot point.
Along w/ that, can I just say that I’ve listened to many broadcasters since I got the MLB EI package…
The Marlins would be in the bottom 5 along w/ the Nats, a couple others, and awful Hawk Harrelson of the White Sox…
The Reds broadcasters I listened to last night were outstanding…not too biased and know the game quite well.
What was Yunel doing there?! Why did Yunel wait so long?! Still out, but ugh. Definitely NOT double pits to chesty.
April 25th, 20092:34 pm
looked out to me!
Well what do ya know! Chipper Jones makes a bad throw once again.
Terrible call. Just awful.
Runner was out at third base.
April 25th, 20092:35 pm
Trust me, I fully know what you mean there…
I was just basing my comments on what a few others said a couple days ago about him being all the way back…
I probably won’t concede to that fact til the end of July
He was out by 6 inches!!
That was an out, but it was close.
WoW! So apparently Tschida isn’t just bad at umping the plate!
April 25th, 20092:36 pm
Ok, thanks Tokyo.
Never mind. After seeing the replay it was more like a foot!
April 25th, 20092:37 pm
Huge K, Lowe!
Why didn’t Cox argue on that call? I don’t really care (arguing never really does any good), but I’m sure surprised.
April 25th, 20092:38 pm
By the way, Tom O’Hawke I really don’t mind doing some of the heavy lifting if you would take care of the dog ever now and then
April 25th, 20092:39 pm
Another K, Lowe! 2 outs!
Two big Ks.
April 25th, 20092:40 pm
has anyone heard the rangers broadcasters… living in arkansas i pick up fox sports southwest… man are they bad… i mean maybe even worse than dibble
Lowe better be carefull against Votto. This guy is hittin 500 with RSIP.
CAN NOT…repeat…CAN NOT give VOTTO a pitch in the zone…walk or make him get himself out.
April 25th, 20092:41 pm
Wow. That’s an Ace right there.
Ace stuff there.
WHAT A HALF INNING FROM D LOWE!
Great job, Mr. Lowe!!!
WHAT A PITCH, LOWE! Reds at 2nd and 3rd, 0 outs. Lowe strikes out the side.
Whoa, now that’s what I call pitching!!
nice work by Lowe 3 straight K’s to get out of jam. excellent.
Wow..Ks the side…nice job Lowe.
Brilliant Houdini act by Lowe that inning!
That is a great come back from D Lowe! good job
April 25th, 20092:42 pm
Also, in Arkansas they teach us to write sentences with lots of “…”’s for no particular reason. What an inning there for D Lowe to come back and strike out the side!
Varsity Chili Dogg
Whoa…i feel like i just watched a true expert. wow, just wow.
Lowe is a stud!
Pretty damn impressive by Lowe, striking out three in a row after runners at second and third with none out.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
