Steve from OH, I agree…really, really happy for him. I now live about 35 miles from where Zack grew up…a lot of people around here rooting for him! He’s 1 out away from what should be his 2nd consecutive shutout with 10 K’s in each. An error allowed an unearned run to score today!

…and Greinke finishes it off. Ok, dumb question, and yes; I should know the answer. Greinke had a 34 inning scoreless streak going…if an unearned run scores, does it stop the streak or does it now stand at 43 since he just pitched another complete game?

Presumably Gonzo will come in to face the Reds top of the order in the ninth. It would be great for Chipper to hit a HR on his birthday.

i suppose it worked out, but i’d say if you go with the percentages, with 1 out and the tying run at 2nd with 1st base open and the pitchers spot due up next, you walk the batter and set up a force at every base and a potential inning ending double play.

Goldenglove002, you are right…pitching is not our issue. But, I believe Greinke is on his way to the next level and has the talent to be truly dominant. I remember reading something on ESPN about a GM of another team stating he thought this year was the year that Greinke fully arrived and that he would win the Cy Young. Well, it’s certainly early, but he is 4-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 36Ks, 6 walks, and a .83 WHIP in 29 innings. Not bad…

Actually, I got lucky moving to Utah, to become a Jazz/Sloan fan. They are going to be talking about Chris Paul and D-Will for years to come, though D-Will has his number.

The ump faked T out by calling a close inside pitch a ball. He put the bat on his shoulder and relied on the ump to give him first. Gonzo dumped some great pitches right into the heart of the zone.
