Ignore the stolen base….how the HELL was that not strike three???
Gotta check out this pitcher best free agent pitcher available.
I think Chipper better starts hitting for extrabases instead of all these singles. Jammed or not, all these singles haven’t been good lately, since our other hitters have struggled to drive him home.
April 21st, 200910:39 pm
And its all good now. Sort of.
Could Careless this year .
Chippy didnt save the day this time LOL
I just…I don’t even…I can’t…I mean…
Belliard hits a bullet to Escobar. Escobar throws home and nails Gonzalez at the plate. Talk about drawing up a way to get an out.
What a STUPID run by Hernandez!!!!
I wish Manny Acta was our manager, out whole Bullpen would be gone by now
Apparently Manny Acta didn’t get the memo about not stealing bases.
nice play yunel!
This ump is pissed at Gonzo…not giving him any calls….after he mouthed off
Eric from MO

We’ve got to be better than we’ve been so far. We got off to some pretty skanky starts back in the 90s, but things would ultimately turn-out rosy. Maybe it’ll turn around soon this time. Too early to lose hope; I mean, my gawd, it’s still April….
Thats true but those teams new how to win. For 3 years we have just been like well they just ran the bases wrong, or they jus made an error. You know what I believe, they just dont know how to close the deal. In the past the Braves didnt always have the best teams in the East but they knew how to do the small things and how to win games. This team doesnt. Even Chipper said in ST this team had to get off to a good start. They cant say its only April or its only May because this team don know how to come back.
April 21st, 200910:40 pm
we just lucked out with the running on 3rd running home into an out. Gonzo will get out of this and we’ll rally back in the 9th!!! Crap broken back infield single!! can we catch a break.
Tom O'Hawke :Ô: :Ô:
Thanks, McFann. You’re up late tonight. You may as well watch the 9th. Maybe, 4 will work better than 2.
I meant Gonzalez
That ball wasn’t hit that hard. It just had a lot of spin. If it had been hit hard, that ball could have gone anywhere.
Dribbler past Gonzo. Looks like the Hernandez is safe. But, they’re calling it a foul ball of H’s foot. Still 2 out and a man on first.
April 21st, 200910:41 pm
Folks, the Braves are a pretty good team. Their only weaknesses are they can’t hit, they can’t catch the ball, they can’t run the bases, their bullpen is suspect at best, and their starting rotation is not living up to expectations. Other than that, they are OK.
They sure do play a lot of hip hop in dc…I wonder Carroll is getting jiggy with it…hence not replying to our questions
Nice play Yunel. Way to pick up poor BMac, who must have had his contact pop out right before that throw down to 2nd. Yeah, that’s what happened……
We are getting outpitched, outhit and outscored by the worst team in the league, a team that is 2-10. That would lead me to believe that, well, we blow.
April 21st, 200910:42 pm
I gotta give these fans some credit. They’re good at drinking and yelling.
nice outting Gonzo!!!!
Chop It Up All-star

Eric from MO, get a grip? What did I say that wasn’t true? Kawakami has given up a homerun in every start. And Lowe, even with the two rain delay starts has walked a lot of batters. And Kawakami was brought over as a control guy, and he has been anything but. Last I checked every game counts…even the ones in April. And if you are truly a Braves fan you would agree that this team performs best when they get out to an early lead. If the opposing team comes back and takes the lead, the game is pretty much over especially after six innings. Sure, we may get 200 innings out of the pitchers this year, but you would have to agree they are not pitching their best baseball right now. And we trail the Marlins by five games already.
Chop Chop, April 21st, 2009, 10:40 pm “abwright,That ball wasn’t hit that hard. It just had a lot of spin. If it had been hit hard, that ball could have gone anywhere.”
You’re right. That was a funky ball off the bat. Good play by Escobar, not just to catch it, but to make the right decision and make a good throw to the plate.
Dear Lord…please oh please…let our team score a run or 2 in the 9th inning. I’m clinically depressed and really need a win. Amen.
ok…..you guys will be ok. I am sure our bullpen will lose it in the 9th; other than last night, that has been our trademark this season
Run Heap Run
Gonzo had to work too hard there.
Last chance and bottom of the order…
Are we ready for a 1-2-3 inning from Mr. Hanrahan? Well, I’m not! Go Braves!
The Nats want to lose these games too but we’re just better at it…
April 21st, 200910:44 pm
Heres Matt Diaz, I am betting on a 3 pitch strikeout
What if the Lord doesn’t like you, MFin? Guess we’re about to find out….
April 21st, 200910:45 pm
Cue up the circus music!
*doot doot doo, doo doo-doo doo doo*
Say your prayers and put on your rally caps. Got mine on.
This Braves team has finally driven me to drink. And that’s the only thing positive I can say about this game, so far.
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
Yeah, I’m gonna watch the ninth…wish I hadn’t seen that friggin’ stolen base though. Think McCann dropped a “dagnabbit” after that one…
Let’s see what these turtles cann do!!
After the Nats went ahead in the sixth I really felt like the game was over. Between the bad bullpen and the poor hitting I have no faith in this team right now. It’s just not much fun to be a Braves fan right now.
Also, good call earlier from Chop It Up All Star who commented on the starts inability to go deep into games. That was suppose to be the trademark of this new rotation but besides Lowe on opening day have we had a starter go 8 innings or even 7? Even the other day when Vazquez was dealing, he only went 6 innings. Maybe they will comeback and win this game but I really don’t think so.
The gNats “closer” is in. He’s already 3-0 to Diaz.
dont swing Diaz!!!
April 21st, 200910:46 pm
Chop I just said they will turn it around. You cant judge pitchers on 2 and a half weeks. Remember how CC did last April. Everyone thought he may of been done. There was people on here who said that.
holy cow….diaz walked?!
Sorry, even I cannot make this team good.
Four pitch walk to Diaz. Thank goodness he was patient.
Hanrahan still looks spooked; I told you guys our bullpen was very suspect!
Please do not bunt schafer
4 pitch walk to Matty how bout that with Jordan coming up I liek this!!!! Lets go Braves!
Amazing. Not bunting. Finally.
April 21st, 200910:47 pm
Do you guys bunt Schafer here?
Another GD freeby strike to the gNats.
Almost the same pitch gets called a ball.
Nice consistent strike zone tonight
Hell to the yes…runners at 2nd and 3rd no outs.
I think this is what the Nats were cleaning house for.
April 21st, 200910:48 pm
Whoa, will this be the night we come back?!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO DOUBLE JORDAN!!! JORDAN HIT A DOUBLE Runners in Scoring Position baby!!
“Logan” Schafer doubles to RF. 2nd and 3rd. No one out.
Alright Shafer!!! We deserve this win…
There we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
And I hear some fans doing the chant and chop lol
THATS WHY YOU DON”T BUNT
Hey….this is looking alot like what I had to watch over the weekend while sitting in Nats Park. If it weren’t for Hanrahan, we would have at least two more wins.
my lord, Jordan Schafer can run
anybody like a squeeze bunt here?
Uh-oh. Greg Norton to the plate.
Boy, is he due.
DP to C!!!!
Sorry… Schafer. Come on Nort!
i just read that garret anderson strained his quad. no surprise there. i cant prove it, but i’m telling ya…something’s wrong there. i can smell it. he’s cashing a paycheck this year, but he has no desire to actually play. i’d put him on the DL RIGHT NOW and call up B Jones.
Schafer.. double pits to chesty!! haha
Lets pickup 2 and win
April 21st, 200910:49 pm
Another freeby strike for the gNats!
God Damn. MLBTV just froze on me when Schafer hit the ball!
This ump is terrible.
just put the ball in play. please don’t strike out.
Valid point on CC, I’ll concede that.
0-2 on Norton on a ludicrous inside pitch.
Now its back.
:Ô: :Ô::Ô: :Ô: McFann, so far :Ô: :Ô: the extra rally turtles :Ô: :Ô: are working, :Ô: :Ô::Ô: :Ô: but you didn’t :Ô: :Ô: warn me :Ô: :Ô: this would :Ô: :Ô: happen. :Ô: :Ô:
April 21st, 200910:50 pm
Haha. Boog’s pretty sure of what he stopped it with.
thousands on men just curled up screaming…
Norton getting screwed on this AB.
I missed a pitch. its 1-2. Should be 3-0 to Norton.
Flores had the “wind knocked out of him” by the bouncing ball in the dirt.
N Nine :Ô: :Ô:
April 21st, 200910:51 pm
Can’t believe FSS is calling Brian Jordan and Ron Gant “legends” in their commercial.
legend, n. A romanticized or popularized concept of a well-know person.
An unauthenticated story from earlier times, perserved by
tradition and popularly thought to be historical.
that should of said thousands OF, not ON
Norton takes a pitch. 2-2. Should be bases loaded no one out.
that oitch hit Flores right in “gonats.”
This is it. If KJ doesn’t put them in, kill me.
Norton taps to the mound. 1 out. No advance.
LOL TOM LOL
They’re gonna blow this.
Damnit could that be any worse of a lil bluper?!?!
Greg Norton? Are you serious?? As hot as Omar Infante has been??? In the words of Gordon Ramsey…Bobby Cox…YOU DONKEY!!
Come on Kelly. Good Lord Norton!
OK, we can’t score runs by manufacturing them. So it’s up to KJ to hit the 3-run HR…
April 21st, 200910:52 pm
Epinephrine maybe you should have higher goals.
DirtyYuni :Ô: :Ô:
I’m into the rally turtles. Clearly Greg Norton did not get the memo.
Yay! ONE MORE to go!
omg that’s awful kj and norton
Weak fly ball to center by KJ. 2 outs. No advance by the runners.
