With the terrible start we have had this season, the bullpen woes, and all the trashing of the Nats on this site and throughout with MLB fans, you must admit that the Nats have a SOLID lineup with very few holes. If Guzman wasn’t injured, he would be the lead-off. It is a great offensive line-up.
Moylan is a stud! I have an idea…McCann should refer Diaz to his eye doctor…then he would see that the pitch in the left hand batters box is a ball…and the shots to left field…are catchable.
Kearns must have felt sorry for Moylan not getting that strike out of Dukes. So, he swings at ball 4 in the LH batters box and finishes a good inning for Moylan.
OK. You’re right, I’m wrong. I’m just gonna cut off my TV and find something else to do. Thanks for telling me now so I didn’t waste 6 months of my life on the team that I support win or lose.
1995-Yankee stadium was EMPTY and I wish the Atlanta fans would stay away also. To show ownership we wont just show up for any crap like previous years.
One Yankee stadium still has more fans than Turner on a good day. Two that would just mean ownership would cut the payroll. Good Idea!! God your a moron.
Chop Chop….so you wouldn’t want to replace any of your OF with Kearns? I am glad we have him. There have been rumors that the Yankees are trying to trade for him.
Random, sorry about that, I must’ve been confused. For some reason, after 11:10 p.m., my mental acuity becomes somewhat diminished. (Some would argue that it starts a lot earlier than that.)
What happened to all these starters we signed in the off-season that were suppose to be able to pitch 200 plus innings? All these quote un quote control pitchers that pitched to contact?
With the exception of Vasquez, who has been pretty good, Kawakami has been consistent (every outing, expect him to give up a homerun, and throw a lot of pitches for 5 to 6 innings), and Lowe has had one good start and a lot of walks.
Of course my biggest problem with this team is that if they fall behind they hardly ever seem to find a way to come back and win the game. The Phillies do it, the Mets do it, Florida does it, hell even Washington does it, but if the Braves can’t get out to an early lead and hold it, most nights you can write it up as a loss. I think tonight is one of those nights – but I’ll keep watching hoping I’m wrong.
Alllright Chipper. That bouncer off his oblique doesn’t look like it had any lasting effects it appears. After the game tonight, it you connect all his bruises with a marker, you’ll have a portrait of a 10-pt. buck, kinda like a temporary tatoo.
GD! I cannot believe the ump just called that a strike. Is this a Washington bail out or something? The gNats haven’t won enough games, let’s give them some extra strikes.
MFin04….the Nats are averaging almost 5 runs a game….I’ll take that anyday. The problems with the Nats have been pitching; primarily the Bullpen. So no, I am not smoking pot.
Impressed with Elijah Dukes. If Nats can keep him out of trouble/jail, they might have something. Kasten should hire a full-time bodyguard/babysitter for the guy until he settles down. Strong and fast.
Chop your only 2 and a half week in the season. Get a grip. Lowe and Vazquez will pitch 200 innings. Also Kawakami was never considered an innings eater. Just figued he would be a good 4th starter. Give him time, he has only had 3 starts and won one, its early. Also one of Lowe’s was a rain delay. Otherwise he would of had another win.

We’ve got to be better than we’ve been so far. We got off to some pretty skanky starts back in the 90s, but things would ultimately turn-out rosy. Maybe it’ll turn around soon this time. Too early to lose hope; I mean, my gawd, it’s still April….
The season may be a long way from over and the Braves certainly aren’t out of anything…..but they sure are stinking up the field the last week plus. Good grief, they are even making the Nationals look like a solid team.
FW did an awesome job rebuilding our Rotation. He must of forgot about the pen though. They can’t get out of a wet paper sack if they tried too. It’d be nice if we could finish off our lead that we have to finish teams off. Finish the Drill baby!!!
Jim, Dukes has done very well off the field, even though he was just fined $500, taken out of the starting lineup, and threatened to be sent to Triple A…..all because he was 5 minutes late to work on Saturday. The reason he was late? For going to a little league opening ceremony to sign autographs and give a speech to 54 teams of little league players.
It’s amazing how this team can make me go from happy to miserable in a matter of a few innings. I’d say that says more about me than the team…but, somehow, it’s definitely the Braves’ fault.
They’re like the NL East bedpan…everyone craps all over them.

MFin04, yes, 5 runs a game, and we definitely need them because our bullpen SUCKS! I am not bragging about it, just pointing out that we have a good lineup offensively. BTW, our record is 2-10; worst in MLB.
