Ease up on Bennet, he is actually one of the few bulpen pitchers that can actually get guys out. Lookat his ERA.
Look at my opponent’s batting average. I’m not giving up INHERITED runs while getting the final out before my runners score, like this past inning. Thus making others (in this case, Kawakami) look bad and me good by comparison.

The Braves have improved a little bit. They get a couple of runs in the first part of the ball game and thats it. If the opposing team gets the lead and thats the end of it. The Braves can’t rally.

Even aside from the first inning, the lead-off hitter is more likely than any other position in the line-up to lead off an inning.
On account of because the pitcher so often makes the last out in an inninjg.
On account of because with two outs, the other team so often walks the number 8 hitter to get to the pitcher.

KJ has hit in the leadoff spot in 9 games this season. Yet he has led off an inning 17 times.

I’m not impressed with Kawakami at all! Yes, defense cost him some runs, but he still finds the middle of the plate with FAR TOO MANY PITCHES. Whoever said James/Reyes syndrome hit the nail right on the head. Except that we paid TWENTY FOUR MILLION DOLLARS FOR Kenshin. He may be an Andruw Jones in that they may have to DFA him prior to his contract running out, as the Dodgers did Andruw.
I know…way too early to make those kinds of judgments. You’re right. But he has had either control trouble with too many walks, or control trouble by throwing too many cookies. Either way, he’s not been good.

I’ll be here at the end of the season brother but there won’t be anything to bring up. Look back and tell me where I said we were a playoff team. Good luck, you won’t find it. I just think it is ridiculous to call it a season after 13 games. The Marlins look beatable lately. The Phils are 5-6 and the Mets are 6-6. Are they out of it too? I’d rather just watch how the season plays out than whine and moan in April after 13 games. I would rather enjoy the season and see where it takes us.

Eric….right now, anyone but Saul Rivera. Against the Phillys on opening day, he came in and hit two straight batters and then gave up two home runs; we only lost by one run. Don’t know what happened to him; he was pretty solid last year. Maybe Kip Wells or Bergmann.
