jonatuga, that rule only applies when a runner is going to first. They have to be inside the 2 lines. Anywhere else, when the ball hits the runner (unless the runner does it intentionally) it is not an out. Otherwise in rundowns you could just throw the ball at the runner for an easy out.

But, for those who constantly point to MP’s minor-league slugging, it sure seems to me, from watching his ABs with the big club, that he might’ve improved. I’d say he can hit a ton of doubles, and perhaps 10 HR per 500 ABs. Whether he could do this exposed everyday is another question, but I believe the man has better-than-average 2B pop. (BA STEVE)

So Bobby is the players manager and one of the BIG things that makes him effective (or so the players have reported) is that he will get out there a fight for you!

So I wonder if there was some mumbling in the dugout and by Ross when Cox didn’t feel the need to at least go out there and question the ump or request he get some help on the call?

Rafael Soriano should pitch today. Eric O’flaherty, Buddy Carlyle, and James Parr are just not trustworthy. Moylan is getting much better, he is excused because he still recovering from Tommy John surgery.Gonzalez is great in save situations, and if Soriano is healthy, he is the best out off the bulpen for the Braves.

MLB has this new technology, this year, to replace their Ques Tec. It’s called ZE (Zone Evaluation System). I know it has only been a few weeks, and I’m not talking about just the Braves’ games, but it seems to me that there is a smaller strike zone than I’ve ever seen before. This could be just my imagination. What do you think? We could use a stat-man, to check out the walks, this year, as opposed to the same time last year. RANDOM, where are you when we need you?
