Coach, yeah I remember you calling Norton for sure. I seem to recall you doing the same for Barton but it’s not as clear in my memory as Norton (Steve from OH)
I remember Norton too, I don’t remember Barton and I read just about every post on here…yes even Coach’s (hangs head in shame)
That play at third was not Casey’s fault. The ball would have gone to the backstop if it hadn’t clipped Frenchy. Good hustle by Matt. The thing about the surplus of outfielders in DC is that they’re fairly stupid people. Milledge got sent down for dogging it, Kearns must be the worst RF in baseball, Dukes is a headcase, Dunn is a statue. You get the feeling that, like noted bonehead Dick Stuart, they are out there thinking about their next at-bat. Sloppy, slow and stupid.
Well My point is Frenchy and the catcher looked up at Kotchman like he was crazy…for 1 he is slow…and 2 he was already on 2nd. Anyway when your on 2nd you have to be more careful, that’s my only point, especially when your slow.
But its early.......LOL(Doc H.)
KJ is 2nd on the teams in Ks and not even in the top ten on the team in OBP……so drop it.
Damn, They Must Love Phil Collins “In the Air Tonight” First Pittsburgh, Now D.C. blasting the hell out of it…
Not a bad start for this Logan Zimmermann guy!

PWHjort @ 9:31–
I agree completely.
Charles H I really hope McCann’s career isn’t in jeopardy, but it certainly may be.
Um…let’s not go there, OK?
cabravesfan, for what it’s worth, I feel for you. Once they become that addicted, it’s tough to deal with. You truly have a dilemma on your hands. I wish you luck.
Do I look a little worried in those SportSouth commercials standing next to three black men?
April 20th, 20099:38 pm
Ah, another season, more Doc H. complaining about Kelly Johnson. For 2-3 years now, this blog has been subject to Doc H.’s KJ hatred and Robert’s “donk” anti-Cox routine.
Neither will stop until an inferior manager/2B replaces Cox/Johnson.
Wow, wide plate tonight.
April 20th, 20099:39 pm
good one, jon miller. can i call you jonny?
April 20th, 20099:40 pm
April 20th, 20099:41 pm
McFann, before you go to bed, how about one post with the dual turtles? Not that I’m superstitious or anything.
April 20th, 20099:42 pm
Is the braves game in HD on ESPNHD?
The umps probably want to move this one along because after I heard that was Randy Wolf behind the plate I was surprised we got those calls…lol.
April 20th, 20099:43 pm
it’s in hd on both
I feel kinda bad for her at the moment- she’s playing the sympathy card by hobbling around on 3 legs…
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
Oh yeah! Almost forgot to call the other turtle! Not sure when I’ll go to bed…computer might hafta shut down before I do. But, it doesn’t have to be turned off just yet.
April 20th, 20099:46 pm
ben gordon me one time
Gawd Lowe, Should’ve been at third on that play Where The F…c Is the Hustle…?
April 20th, 20099:47 pm
Zac Brown Band..I know the song…Chicken Fried
Game is in HD on both SportsSouth and ESPN. ESPN is carrying the Nats broadcast though.

Another DP from escobar.
zac brown band from athens, right?
McFann :Ô: :Ô:, thank you my dear. We’re all set now!
You really want Lowe to risk getting hurt running the bases?
boyer be gone
yep, yunel’s back….
Yunel Escobar on dugout Laptop
April 20th, 20099:49 pm
I’m going for the double play record!
chill out the field is muddy…you’d be sitting here pulling your brains out if he pulled something running from first to third
You’re welcome. Too bad Escobar killed that rally…course, it mighta helped if Lowe’s bunt woulda worked…
Then again, maybe not.
April 20th, 20099:50 pm
yes…zac brown played Friday night at ole miss..with soulja boy
April 20th, 20099:52 pm
cabravesfan, smart dog. She’s telling you that she can’t go to the store for beer, it’s up to you.
I don’t know where Yunel would be best at, to be honest. You can’t blame Bobby for batting him second though, with his avg. with RISP. But, the dp’s are killers, so I’d maybe move him to the 7th spot when McCann gets back and put Schafer 2nd in front of Chipper.
They need to bunt Esco with men on base every time…he is a double play waiting to happen.
April 20th, 20099:54 pm
Has anyone stated how much they hate ESPN yet on this blog..finally get some coverage here in Alaska, 1 inning and they come back to HOU/CIN game..UGHHHH, now I am down catching up with MLBTV which is 1 inning behind..
April 20th, 20099:55 pm
nice- I saw them open for corey smith at his first show at ga theatre. As fun as I’ve had at a show.
April 20th, 20099:56 pm
CABravesFan…. And Bravos2249….
Understood about the risk of injury, but on that play the Nats were giving us the extra base, especially with the Slug Dunn fumbling the ball…Gotta take advantage of the AAA Nats giving us extra bases…
But Its moot now because of the DP
But I did overreact in a sense, lack of hustle and little awareness on the basepaths Irks me, and sometimes makes a difference in close Games…I’m pretty sure all who watched those close 1-run losses last year know what I mean….
MFin04, you want them to bunt a guy has hit .700 with RISP – best in the NL???
April 20th, 20099:57 pm
well she’s just going to have to wait until tomorrow- I’m watching the game! I spiked her cheese ball with some drugs…she should be fine until then:)
I hate BSPN with a passion…Hence Why I call ESPN… BSPN
Jon…I saw Modern Skirts this past weekend…that was a fun show…
Okay, so are they showing the game on ESPN or not? Why did ESPN go to the Reds at Astros??
April 20th, 20099:58 pm
OK we waited about an hour before it started raining to play for 1 hour and then it starts raining again….man it wouldn’t have been like this in ATL
Looks like it is pouring now.
I’m 27 yrs old, and in my young life I have never seen it rain so much like it has this last month or so. All over the country, especially our area, the east coast.
and if it had been anyone other then Derek Lowe I would have been right there with you…there is no excuse for lack of hustle (unless it is the pitcher:D)
April 20th, 20099:59 pm
I hope Chipper doesn’t hurt himself in this rain
I just checked the radar. It’s tough to tell whether they can play through this next patch of precipitation or not, but there’s not much behind it.
Barack Obama is the answer.
Yes…bunt him…2nd and third for Chipper Jones…who hit .364 last year…and is a pretty good ball player from what I hear.
sorry for that random Obama…that’s the answer to the trivia question
April 20th, 200910:00 pm
run old man!
wow he is soooo slow in the OF…Chipper thanks you for the triple Dunn
there’s some good huslte for you <strong.tomahawkin!
Chipper with the triple! Anybody still wish the Braves had signed Adam Dunn this past winter? Man, does he give up some runs with his horrid defense!
April 20th, 200910:01 pm
Nice “Hoss”!!!! Thats What I was talking about the Awareness…Now Everyone Knows What I was talking about in my 9:56 Post!
Hey Carroll– I used to work over on Capitol Hill. Would you want me to try and arrange a tour through my old office (as opposed to the boring guided tours) for one of the next two days for you??????
cabravesfan, OK, that should work for her, but what about you?
April 20th, 200910:02 pm
Attaboy Krotch, get that run in.
That’s the way to get good wood on it, Kotchman.
That’s not gonna get it done Kotch!
Mark in PA
Dang, listen to all the Braves fan in the rain in DC! Chipper with the triple!
Loove our cleanup hitter!! Kiddin, but Jeff needs to get Chipper in and NOT try and pull it!
Chipper out 2 weeks with a triple.
CaBravesFan…? Thanks…Nuff Respect…I’ve been noticing that awareness flaw for years now in this team…
Gotta Get That Run Home Boyz!…Frenchie Swinging like last year…
April 20th, 200910:03 pm
Come on Frenchy
Two problems with bunting in that situation MFin04:
Open base for Chipper means pitcher shouldn’t throw him anything to hit.
Even a .400 OBP means an out 60% of the time.
fat people sink faster
kotch with a garbage ab
need a little pickmeup from the team
are you serious clark?
Man This Offense Sucks!
Why didn’t Chipper run? You gotta take the chance on a ground ball!
Nice Jeff, those neck high fast balls are great pitches to hit!
April 20th, 200910:04 pm
wow…frenchy…very frustrating..can’t deliver….this why the Braves won’t make the playoffs…can’t play small ball
think there’s some vodka in the freezer…
what’s the ? for…
way to pick them up matty
Pick up the slack, matty.
Way to pick upt the team Matty!!!!!!
Diaz for President.
Steve from OH
Thank God for Matt Diaz and 0-2 fastballs right down the middle…
April 20th, 200910:05 pm
Matty Diaz…HOME RUN
Blaine Boyer, the Lead Destroyer
Maybe not small ball Corky, but LONG BALL!
One can only assume that ESPN is staffed with lots of ADD folks that can’t concentrate on anything unless it is a Yankee or Bosox game.
Matt Diaz. Gawn hit that ball real hard.
Atta Boy MattiE-D!!! Make Me eat My Words…Man That Ball Carried…!
Did I ever tell you guys how much I like Matty Diaz?
Boy, I thought they were going to waste that triple by Chippah. He really busted it to give the Braves a great chance at a run.
Kotch and Frenchy couldn’t get ‘er done. Thanks to Matty Hustle for parking one in the LF bullpen.
2 beauties to diaz then a fat one down the middle at kalas would say outta here
April 20th, 200910:06 pm
