Say what you will but Frenchy has had some good games hitting and does look better at the plate this season so far. I’m optimistic for him. As for some others i’m waiting for them to come around. Now lets go Prado.
Eric from MO, can’t you teabaggers please check your crap when you are on this blog, I know it’s hard, but please stop. The Braves losing is not an excuse to bash the President.
I’m pretty sure if Frenchy was in the same slump mac was in this blog would be tearing him up….and mac is the number 4 hitter if he’s in that bad of a slump with Chipper out that = problems for the team.
MFin04 — I would guess because Diaz probably hasn’t had a bunt attempt in years. Its not an automatic thing that he gets the bunt down and Infante moves up.
I swear we bunted twice at the beginning of the game…with position players….why not in the 8th when we are only down one run? Makes no sense! Isnt there like a situation book or something we can send Bobby? Surely it says to bunt a runner over when down 1 with a runner on first with no outs.
I’m not even really that mad at the hitters. Kotchman missed a three run double but about four inches. Prado has hit two balls hard with guys on and they were right at somebody.
I mean what the hell? No luck.
We’re going to tie this damn game. I swear to God as my witness.
Mfin would you look who was up? Diaz doesnt have a good chance at bunting. Earlier Prado bunted because its part of his game. Can you have one intelligent post before the season is over?
Bravos McCann has earned the right for us not to jump over him. We know he can hit based on he has 2 silver slugger awards and 3 all-star appearances. We know he can produce.
This is getting a little old. Just no politics. How hard is it to understand? Don’t care what your view or side is as it doesn’t matter. The blog goes downhill everytime after someone brings it up. If you wanna talk politics there are plenty of blogs for that.
Does using a closer in anything but a close situation ever turn out well? I gotta put that on BC. Gonna be even more painful if we score a run in the 9th.
So when if he just…work with we here cause I don’t even think it will happen this is just a scenario…happens to have an Andruw 2007 type year there would be no bashing because he’s a 3 time all star and he’s had 2 silver sluggers? Is that what your saying?
Atleast he isnt the closer anymore…he cant close…he cant even pitch he is done…and he has been for a while. The adrenaline is here…and his pitching isnt. Let him go…he just isnt very good. Might have been in years past…he isnt anymore
So, when did Gonzo declare himself a “9th-inning-save-opportunity-only” pitcher? I guess I understand (but don’t agree with) that basic mentality for a guy like Lidge or Hoffman, but I don’t think Mikey has quite earned it yet. Am I wrong?
He needs to forget the situation and get people out, if he can.
Bravos McCann and Andruw are two completely different players. All Andruw wanted to do was pull everything and swing for the fences.
Mac is completely opposite of that. He pulls when he needs to and goes the other way when he gets a pitch that needs that. He isnt stubborn. Actually he asks for veteran players and coachs for tips. He will be fine.
I asked Carroll yesterday if something was wrong with Gonzo cause he hasn’t pitched since April 11th. She told me why would you use your closer in a game that he’s not needed. I told her that, Bobby will then bring him in a game that is close and he will blow it….whether we are leading or not.
Hence whether you need him or not 4 days IMO is too much to give a closer off…especially at the beginning of the year and certainly when your BP sucks.
Offence average, but not terrible given the line up. Definately rather unlucky. It will come around.
Bullpen still looks exceptionally twitchy. Hoping it will come around.
Good to see JJ having yet another good, sollid outing. Just would be nice if he could get more efficient and therefor get his pitchcount a bit down.
