that was a darn good play by Kelly…and the back hand too…VERY IMPRESSIVE…way to bounce back from yesterday

TnBrian is right.

Schafer can’t go back on the ball. My hope is that he’ll learn the NL parks (harder than it used to be, due to the unbalance schedule); but, he really does seem to lack the ability to go get the ones over his head.

Didn’t he break his face running through a wall in the AFL a couple of years back?

Isn’t it frustrating when the opponent scores on an out when we can’t get one home with the sacks full and no outs?

All you wa-hoos who were clamoring for JS to start in centerfield, I hope you see why it’s tough to win with rookies…

It’s the old, “ball passes him twice” defense Shafer is playing.

N Nine, learning WHAT? The kid should’ve learned in the minors to take the ball off the wall and prevent the runner from stealing an extra base, right? I don’t get what you’re saying…

“So it’s Schafer’s fault? Should have known, I can only listen to the game.” – Ian

Schafer just keeps running all the way to the wall even after it should be clear that he’s not gonna catch the ball. He’d serve his team better by backing off and playing the carom.

I’m really surprised by it… Jordan’s a rookie, but it’s not like he’s never played OF in a stadium before. Oh well… we’ll see.

Eric from MO

I’m not being picky…if you are even watching the game they complained about not enough Righties in the lineup and I pointed out that there are 4…and if Bobby put Kotchman and Casey back to back that is his own fault….me personally. i would have put Diaz in between Casey and Schafer because of his bat and shifted the whole lineup up with Mac hitting 3rd while Chipper is out…Since Casey and Jordan are struggling it makes since.

Gil you can win with rookies. Seems Tampa did pretty well with rookies last year. Just takes a lil time. With that beng said, I sure didnt pick the Braves to make the playoffs. Maybe thats why Im not as upset as others over the losses. I picked them to win 86-88 games and at 5-4 they are looking like that is how good they are.

I’ve held off long enough on Schafer’s defense in center. It sucks….that is atleast 3 triples…maybe four or five this season…that should not have been triples. The kid needs a lot of work with his bat and his glove. Hasnt stolen a base yet either… I dunno…a lot to worry about. I know it’s a long season…but someone needs to teach him what to do on deep fly balls. He hasnt figured it out yet.

Loaf Garret: it’d be the first chords of the Replacements’ “Bastards of Young,” or the beginning of the Clash’s “Straight to Hell.” Or maybe Parliament’s “Flash Light” or Rick James’ “You & I” would be really cool, too. Or the Gap Band’s “Burn Rubber.”

Or Zep’s “Whole Lotta Love.” Or of course the first chords of the Man in Black’s “Ring of Fire,” but it’s too ubiquitous, probably, since the movie and all.
