Jake-

Are you a certified moron or just illiterate?

I stated a FACT (hopefully you know what that is) that our hitters that have achieved improvement have not received their training from TP…that is a fact because this:

Mac- receives his hitting tips/practice from his dad and Chipper

Chipper- ALWAYS goes to his dad

Yunel- went to our Double A hitting coach for his training

Francoeur- went to Rangers hitting coach Jaramillo(sp?)

Prado- Venezuela coach

So what point is it exactly you’re trying to make because if you were trying to make one you did a VERY poor job!

Oh, and yeah, maybe you’re right…I mean Gregor Blanco did go to TP…LMAO!

After reading 50% of the posts in the last hour, I do feel better, just by knowing its not only me thinking Cox is responsible for the most part of our bad performance and that some changes most be done as of yesterday.

I love the comment that says………..move KJ to LF, platoon him with diaz. Let Infante be the 2b and Prado his Backup. Bring up BJ. That way we will have 3 players capable of playing OF on the bench and 3 players capable of playing IF on the bench and then Ross.

Wow. Too bad I had 19 bags of leaves from last fall to rake up (the people who lived here before us, apparently didn’t rake the leaves before it started snowing).

It looks like I missed a helluva a game….. If I was a frickin’ Pirates fan.

See the thing that sucks is this. I had reasonable hope that when this season started if EVERYTHING went well (Starting and literally ending with Chipper’s health), that this could be a decent season with post-season aspirations.

Then like everybody else, with the way this team came out of the gate, my expecations rose. Because it finally looked like we had some pitching, and the young hitters were gonna take the next step, and that having Jordan Schafer start the year as the CF was a BRILLIANT move by Bobby.

But with this stretch of utterly embarrassing baseball that they’re in right now, they’re damn near an afterthought. Totally forgot there was a game today. Hell, even if I had remembered, not sure I would have tuned in.

Same sh!t, different season. Nothing’s EVER going to change….. until there is change. And….yes…I’m talking about Cox. Time for the old’ man, to go down the road…. of retirement.

CLEARLY nobody respects his authority, or he doesn’t have the authority to demand “smart” play out of his troops.

Either way, until he’s gone NOTHING is going to change. Free swingers that have zero plate discipline. Let’s hope he retires before he ruins Schafer, Escobar, KJ and Heyward’s careers like he has Jeff’s (and Andruw’s) by NOT demanding excellence out of him.

This team is embarrassing, from the top down.

Hey all i’m saying how is it TP’s fault when a player gets a pitch to hit right down the middle and pop it’s up. That is the players fault if their timing is off. Not everything is TP’s fault. I may grant you that he may tell ‘em but they aren’t capable of hearing, or translating it into performance. Seems to me that other teams seem to be able to find our weaknesses at the plate but we don’t seem to be able to find theirs. Point is, I ain’t layin’ off any of ‘em. They’re being paid the big bucks to perform and they ain’t doin’ it.

I agree that it’s early. But I don’t think everyone’s overreacting (aside from those calling from Cox to be fired and players to be released).

When your top hitter, who is fragile to begin with, isn’t playing only 5-6 games into the season, that’s worrisome. When your second best hitter has blurry vision, is 1 for his last 18 and may have to get Lasik eye surgery and go on the DL for an extended period, that’s a problem. When you couple that with a bullpen that can’t find anyone who can pitch even one clean inning, that’s trouble. And when you put all that together with a team that plays shoddy defense, can’t manufacture runs, has no speed (or doesn’t utilize it) and doesn’t hit for power, that’s the makings of a long, awful season.

mbatl

April 18th, 2009

On Josh Anderson, just keep in mind that he was out of options and had to be on the 25-man roster if we wanted to keep him. So he’d have cost us either Norton, Prado, Infante, or Diaz (or Schafer starting in the minors).

Easy to say after a bad week that we should have started Josh in CF and put Jordan at AAA, but I don’t think most people felt that way 2 weeks ago. And I doubt they’ll feel that way 2 weeks from now.

I admit TNJeff that it may be time for Bobby to change some of his ways. I understand him not wanting to blast the players publicly but he can certainly do it behind closed doors. It made me a little mad last year when Escobar was criticized because of the way he played. Yeah he doesn’t need to be talking to the refs that way but the way he plays the game is just so opposite of the way most on this team plays. He plays with fire. He messes up and he doesn’t dwell on it.

Did anybody else think that JS gave JF a ‘look’ on that ball that skipped past him (Schafer) for a triple? I for one was wondering where in blazes Francoeur was. Surely if he had been moving toward the ball he could have gotten to it before Schafer. And just when KJ goes an entire game without making an error, his offense turns to crap.

Only one great player on this team…….his name………. Chipper Jones, once he is benched no team respects us. You cant dream of winning a championship with a team with only 1 great player.

Once Chipper is down, our chances of winning are close to none. And not being capable of winning without chipper is not the only problem, but losing as bad as they do? looking as defenseless?

Injuries are going to happen, but it would be nice if somone stepped up just once. Schaeffer is being exposed at the plate, and I can live with that, but his OF defense is terrible. He takes terrible angles on everything and needs to learn how to play the wall. G. Anderson was a waste of money. NJ Braves. Obviously you have not been watching this sorry excuse for a team the last 3 years. Its the same thing game in game out. Bobby Cox is the main reason this team sux. He should be jettisoned out of town. We actually need to clean house with these guys going as well:
Wren, Pendleton, and McDowell. WHY is no one held accountable. We have a poor team on the field—WREN. We cannot hit—-Pendleton. We have no bullpen—McDowell. And Bobby Cox is touted as a Hall of Fame Manager because he won back in the era with Smoltz and Maddox. This team has no knowledge of fundamental baseball and that is Cox’s fault.

Pitiful team.

Copncerned about McCann. I almost had lasik surgery a couple of years ago but read some horror stories of what could happen and sided against it. It only happened in 1-2% of cases but geez that seems like a risk anyway.

I wonder if we could hire Pat Coralles back from the Nationals so someone would tell Jordan Schafer to back up.

But its early.......LOL? (Doc H.)

Teabag Manifesto. You are right on brother. As for NJ Braves, Delta is ready when you are with 12 flights daily BACK to NJ.

Jordan is a great example of this outfield rule – it’s much easier to run in on a ball than to run back on it. It’s also much better when you have a pathetic pitching staff (bp) to try to keep all the hit balls in front of you to minimize the damage that’s coming

But dose anyone associated with the Braves care. The is no HEART in this team or any other Braves team since the days of David Justice. How about some flat out hustle and fire…..
