Lowe has pitched brilliantly to start the season. Tough inning just now, but he’s been very good thus far.

bravos he wont get benched. When Andruw did it was because he wasnt trying. Schafer just didnt know the pitch got away from the catcher and he was argueing he didnt swing. Schafer has played plenty hard. He will get a pass.

While it sounds like Omar found a “hole” with that hit, he certainly earned it, as has the rest of the lineup this inning.
I understand that there is a time to be aggressive at the plate. But this inning is a perfect example of what guys not hacking can do by being patient and not getting off balance. 3 runs without the benefit of a 3R HR. Hmmm. Imagine that.
Nicely done boys.
Too bad its now up to the bullpen to hold it. LOL!

I don’t want to pile on Schafer, but there was no argument to be had there. The umpire already said they he swung. He would have had a better chance of beating the throw to first then convincing the umpire to change his call by not running. With that said, Schafer’s been playing his rear off, so I’m willing to give him a little mistake.

They went on and on about the play by Murphy in LF when he threw it in on what appeared to be a designed play and how it cost them the run because its an odd play and he bounced it to Reyes. But they didn’t even mention the fact that Reyes’ throw didn’t make it to the mound before it skipped to the catcher! They seriously talked about it for like 10 min and never mentioned Reyes’ poor throw!!

This is what….game #7 and they’ve only played 2 teams before tonight (3 now counting the Marlins).
I would imagine after 15, 20, 25 or so games…..the scouting report will get around the league somewhat on Schafer…then pitchers will begin to disect him…but until then, he’s somewhat of a unknown, as to his batting/swing and what he does with the bat.
