Well Jeff Ive been listening/watching since 1966. Boyer has had a horrible start and what happens to him is yet to be seen. You didn’t respond to my question after I answered yours. You said Boyer and Bennett “obviously didn’t belong on he roster”. Are you going to respond, Turnip Man? “I’ve been watching since 1982 and am a very good judge of talent. That said of course thats just my opinion.” Can you spell oxymoron Jeff? And please list you qualifications as being a good judge of talent.
I think you’ve already had your exam. The doc said you were missing most of your brain.
So, what is magic about 1982, besides being a subject of a Randy Travis song? I started watching the Braves (actually, it was listening back then) since 1966. So, does that make me 16 years smarter than you???
Your getting in deep water. You talk like you know a lot, but for my money, it is all Barbra Striesand.
PEARL, Miss. (AP)—Atlanta Braves left-hander Tom Glavine ended his minor league start with Double-A Mississippi early on Sunday after experiencing shoulder discomfort.
Whatever the situation calls for, but in this division with all the great lefties I think bobby will favor Gonzalez more unless he just blows up. Still nice to know you have Soriano right there ready to close if that does happen. Sweep.
brvs1fan – Sorry, but I already responded. Since I’ve been watching since 1982, I feel qualifed to judge talent and express opinion. Now, if you’ve been watching since 1966 and don’t feel the same way — I don’t know what to tell you.
Soriano might be the biggest surprise out of everyone on this team when it’s all said and done. With all the questions about his health/attitude, if he can keep doing what he’s been doing the last few games, that’ll go along way towards getting our guys back to the postseason.
Grea job by Raffy and the entire bullpen. Hopefully something good will come out of that debacle in Phillie. These guys are pros and I think will learn something from that embarrasment.
Wayne in Utah – Do you get the idea that if one of the “Negative Nellies” had sex with their girlfriends, and she didn’t have an orgasm, that somehow it would be Jeff Bennet’s fault?
great sweep for the Braves, very impressed with the bullpen today, they came through when they needed to, Jordan showed his D skills today, he was off on the offense today but we werent hurt by that much
If Glavine can’t go for just a start, I say you have to give a strong look at Carlyle. If Glavine is out for significant time, I say give Hanson the chance.
i was paying attention to the game during that, so didn’t catch what hole it was, but he hit in the water, missed the shot for bogey and then hit it in for the double
Last season the Braves probably lose these last two games. So far this season the Braves are getting hits with runners on, with runners on & 2 out, and in later innings. All of these things were lacking last season.
Scoring late runs helps the pitching staff and can buy time for the pen to come around which it will do.
Jeff321 @ 3:50 paraphrased “don’t answer my question with a questio. > Answer me and i’ll answer you”. Again see your 3:50 response and respond accordingly.
Braves looked good for the most part over this weekend, but man – the Nationals are going to have one long season. Something I had noticed in the other two games that was even more apparent today – the Nationals are a bad defensive unit. Lots of plays where the Braves were able to get extra bases.
I respect the contribution that Glavine has made to the Braves over the years, but I don’t want to go through last year all over again. I know the Braves have several pitchers to fill in, but he supposedly came back because he didn’t want to go out on an injury last year.
Give him until mid May, and if he’s not able to come back, the Braves should move on, and give the roster spot to someone else.

Honey, I don’t know what your definition of a great Easter is, but mine certainly wasn’t great. In case you didn’t know, I was kidnapped and taken hostage by freaking pirates. Freaking pirates. The MLB TV package on MLB.coN is very screwed-up, as well. I can’t watch the out of market games live and for half of the games or more the archived games have been inaccessable. MLB is really screwing over it’s customers so far this season.
With no coast guard to defend its shores, Somalis began complaining that vessels from Asia and Europe were dumping toxic waste in their waters and illegally scooping up red snapper, barracuda and tuna. The rampant illegal fishing began destroying the livelihoods of local fishermen.
According to a memo prepared last month by the staff of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, Somali clans began resorting “to armed gangs in an attempt to stop the foreign vessels. Over time, these gangs have evolved into hijacking commercial vessels for ransom as an alternative source of income.”
Next game is Tuesday (night?). Boy, that’s a lot of time to analyze the Glavine situation! (I feel for you DOB!)
I hope Glavine is not hurt badly, but I don’t see how he is going to be ready to answer the bell when needed next Saturday. He really hasn’t stretched out his arm enough, I would think.

Gotta love the Braves start. 5-1 with great starting pitching and excellent hitting.
I do have to question one thing – with O’flaherty (he of the 20.25 era last year) struggling, and Glavine (43 yrs old, with over 4600 innings between regular and postseason) somewhat predictably injured in his first minor league start, does anybody else think we could have put our money to better use by signing Ohman and handing the ball to Campillo every 5th day until Hanson is ready (which he sure appears to be already)?
Campillo was pretty darn good last year. Whether you expect the same from him this year or not, couldn’t we have given him the shot? If he failed, there’s always Hanson (or Bennett, or Carlyle). A shaky, unreliable bullpen can put any game in jeopardy (as O’Flaherty did today) and effect the psyche and confidence of the team in every game. Haven’t we learned this lesson already? It obviously didn’t take much to get Ohman.
I was glad the Braves failed to sign Burnett and wasn’t upset that we whiffed on Furcal, but think we might rue the day we let Ohman get away.
Lefty chokes over and over again. He’s horrible, he has no clutch bone in his body. Has he ever won the Masters? MFin04

2007 Braves were 5-1 after six games, they finished 84-78.
2008 Braves were 3-3 after six games, they finished 72-90.
Things are looking up as this years pitching is much deeper than it was in 2007.

MFin04
Despite having “no clutch bones in his body” Mickleson won the Masters in 2004 & 2006. How can you continue to make such inaccurate, negative comments?

We should bat Escobar 1st so he won’t hit into any more double plays in the first inning unless we’ve already scored a bunch of runs.

Tiger, one back. Man, is he great under pressure or what? We could use him in the bullpen.
