The outfield sure could use Pat Corralas for positioning, Have to wonder was AJ that good at being where he needed to be all the time or did Pat play a role in his success too? Jordan seems to be a step late too often (and not due to lack of speed) and I know instinct is key but I think the outfielders seemed to always be just where they had to be when Pat was calling the shots, could just be me but his absence is noticable. One more step left and Diaz catches that one earlier and Jordan was a step late on the shot to center that let two runs in. Prado couldn’t have been in a better spot so stuff happens but it is happening too often and it will catch up at some point. The defense has to win some too, can’t count on bouncing back every game

Glavine went 2 innings, allowed three hits, one earned run on a homer, and one walk, threw 36 pitches (26 strikes)
He had some left-shoulder discomfort after his second-inning at-bat, came out of game. Will be reevaluated after he comes back to Atlanta.

Mickleson is completely on fire today. Just made an incredible bunker shot on 9 to pull within 2 feet to save par and tie a course record 6 under on the front 9.

DOB. Do u feel confortable with our defense? I really dont know with chipper and KJ in the infield, with a strange Mac behind the plate, and GA and Diaz in LF. To tell u the truth our defense has to be extremely sharp with the type of pitchers we have, the rely on superb defense due to their grounder type of pitches

I could be wrong on my prediction here, like I usually am, but I predict Hanson comes up soon and never goes back to the minors. Glavine will be back, but out of the pen.

I blame the red jersey’s for the errors. Can’t stand those things. But in all honesty I just think its the beginning of the season and those are plays they make later on. Good inning by Bennett. To early to overreact to some of this stuff. Now if it continues than I worry.

For the record, I’m sure Bennett & Boyer are nice guys. However, nice guys don’t translate into helping the Braves’ ERA. That said, I could probably tolerate just one of them in the pen for mop up duties.

So, if Glavine can’t go, do we replace him with Hanson or Morton? Keep in mind, Charlie’s line so far today: 5 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 R, 10(!)K. That’s even better than Hanson the other day. I personally don’t think either one would be a bad choice, but I have to think that Tommy Gun sells more tix…

Wow… Josh Johnson’s 113th and final pitch was at 96 mph, and he was hitting 97 in the 9th.
If Glavine can’t go, I really think Jo-Jo Reyes would probably be the first guy up. I don’t think the Braves are in a hurry for Hanson, and Reyes being a lefty, with a little more experience than Morton, makes sense to me. Just a guess, though.
(and it’s clear that all of those guys… Hanson, Morton, Reyes … can dominate minor league hitting)

I hate to be a party popper, but I for one hope that Glavine is not hurt.He’s worked hard to come back and I’d like to see him pitch one last season and leave the game on a non-injury basis.
Even if you aren’t a Glavine fan and see todays news as something good, you should think about last season. Losing one starter can easily turn into losing more and before you know it, we’re out of it by June.
