I was surprised to see Blanton back out there…but I guess Charlie was thinking the same thing as us…this could be a 12-10 game…and he doesn’t want to use up his BP in the middle innings.

seriously, i’m sure your assesment of schafer’s defense is more accurate than major league scouts… they say he’s an outstanding defensive CF, but your experience says he’s not. you’re right

From an ex CF – I don’t understand where the praise has come from with Schafer in CF. I watched his routes in ST and saw him take a terrible route to a fly ball
I agree with nscoots. Are you drawing your conclusion about his playing ability from your glory days in JV Baseball or playing for some old men’s league on the weekend?..Get real.

Slugger, when you play at Lassiter, all others pale by comparison. We were getting lights my senior year at OU, so we played a few at Pope, like I said nice field, much nicer than when I played there in high school. That’s all I was saying. No offense intended.

I’m told that there are still seats available for the home opener Friday. It’s $2 cheaper to buy tix now rather than day of game, from what I’m told by Braves person.
OK, I’ve done my public service. Buy tix if you want to.
(Should be pretty cool night, with the ceremony to honor Professor Pete before the game. Anybody check the weather forecast yet?)

What happened with kotch; Fall ball to the back stop behind the catcher, bounces out of the catchers gloves and rolls off the screen and then into his hand. Umps originally called it a foul out until the braves started yelling at them to converse about it.
