Hey Braves fans. Nice start to the season by your boys. I’m away on vacation now but wanted to check in otherwise be accused of avoiding the old blog while lying in the fetal position because the Braves are in first. Anyway, I need to go get these guys that boarded our boat unannounced off and I’ll try and check in again tonight.
Someone was complaining earlier about how slow gameday was. if you go to the CBS sportsite and do the gamecenter there, it is only about a minute or so behind. i forgot to record the game today, (which i am really ticked at myself for) so i am counting on you guys for more specific updates than “ball 1, strike 2″ than you get on the internet. PLEASE!!!Thanks in advance…..
Not getting any work done….daytime games are not good for production.
RHR, Thanks for the link. I have “shared” it on facebook already. hilarious.
Vasquez’s stuff is incredibly filthy today. I wonder how many hits the Phillies will end up with, because scoring runs off of his stuff is going to be tough.
Braves’ll survive minus Chipper and Anderson. We all know that Chipper will be missing games every once in a while, and Infante is luckily a capable backup. And I honestly don’t know that Anderson is that much better of a hitter than Diaz (Maybe we’ll find out today)
Apparently Diaz didn’t play that much last year because he was in a platoon with Garrett Anderson. At least that’s what the Phillies announcer just said.
not a bad strategy in that ballpark, David from NY. although Javy does tend to give up the longball. the phillies might finally touch up a starter of ours for some runs via the round-tripper
Joe Simpson is cute and all with the pre-game interviews but where’s my girl Katy Temple? This is gonna be a long season if she’s found herself a better offer than SportsSouth. I mean, who would leave SportsSouth? It can’t get better than that, can it?
DOB, I was just wondering, with so many devoted fans on here and the dead time on some of these out of town trips, it seems like some of the Braves would pop in for a few minutes like Uknowho did last year. Can u give me an idea why that so seldom happens.
I know if I were in their situation, I would (from the outside looking in, of course). Thanks.
I know LaRussa gets blasted for this…but I think it would interesting to swap our pitcher with Schafer in the line-up. He isn’t leading off the game, but he is directly ahead of the top of the order and can get more experience batting in front of them. As we saw Sunday night, he go on bas a couple of times and his speed was totally wasted in that spot. Battering after the pitcher and in front of say…Kelly…he could actually try stealing bases. After a little experience doing that….then they can move him to the top of the order and go with a more conventional line-up. Thoughts?
Seasons over. Pack your bags. Were doomed. Nothing to see here. You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here. Jump of the bandwagon… Final projection 2-160
sidslidkid — don’t know if you saw my post on the other blog, but do you have Songs:Ohia’s record, “Mangolia Electric Company”? same band (or, at least, lead singer – Jason Molina), different name. great stuff.
Did not see it mentioned, but with an off-day tomorrow, today is actually a good day to rest Chipper, especially with a bruised thumb. Important for him to play the home opener, if at all possible.

I didn’t want to predict this one. If I had gotten on here before the past two games you all would have seen my predictions of a Braves win.
I had a little more respect Blanton today than Myers and old ass Moyer but there I go mis-underestimating the Braves again.
Who needs Chipper? Well, we do need him but you know what I mean. I just want to get out a Dodge with a win and bring it to the Nats.
