A blogger claims: “Boyer just doesn’t have that intangible.”

Yes, he does. Goo is amorphous and so, by definition, intangible.

DCBrave they did get some hits in that inning and as Jeff francoeur has shown us in the past just because it’s not a strike doesn’t mean you can’t swing at it. Face it man, bad pitching or not, the Phillies have that never say die kind of attitude. Let’s just say if we had that score down 7 runs in the 7th I don’t think we would have come back. just my opinion.

Bobby Cox, the idiot we’ve all come to want to choke, is back. His loyalty will never change. Leaves pitchers in too long. Un f*cking believable. The man is the definition of insanity – doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. How many bad pitches must a manager see before pulling someone. What a joke.

Come to think about it. With these many pitchers struggled all together in one inning this bad, it should be the problem of the pitching coach. A good one should be able to stop the bleeding at around the time Moylan was pitching or right after him.

Also it seems like there is this culture of coward in the pen: nobody wants to be aggressive enough to surrender a homer to be blamed.

Hey Herschel:

1. Bobby Cox is in the dugout, you’re on your keyboard… enough said.

I’m having a hard time determining what’s worse — Kelly looking at a third strike with the bases loaded or the bullpen’s complete and utter lack of competence today.
I’m going with the latter. The former was pretty bad, too, but on the economy of scale, this bullpen performance has been one of the worst in Braves history. I mean, cataclysmically bad. The Titanic, Hindenburg, Krakatoa and Vesuvius all rolled into one.

Blaine Boyer? Jeff Bennett? Eric O’FallonYourFace?

Where the hell is Buddy Carlyle? Why’d we wait to bring in Campillo so late into this debacle? Why would we simply toss Moylan in, expecting him to just be his same ol’ self after nearly a season away from live action? The man HAS to lack full confidence until he works his way towards it!!!

Our weakness has been exposed with this calamity. This is one area of the pitching staff that looks scary-awful. Boyer and the Irish lefty seemed to make the team just because we had to fill the roster spots with SOMEbody.

It’ll be interesting to see the mental makeup of this squad, should they (in all probability) lose this game. Will they bounce back and come home to dominate a Nationals’ squad they SHOULD wipe the floor with? Or will they, as in seasons’ past, lose 2 of 3 and come out of this shellacking all moribund?

zmerk13

No offense, but, how can any of you think this is Bobby’s fault? I don’t believe he told anyone to go out there and walk 6 guys in an inning. Major league pitchers should be able to combine to pitch 3 innings without giving up 7 RUNS. Not Bobby’s fault.
