Thanks for the insights, Coach — I was sure that my confidence was not misplaced.

sorry, this keyboard bites….then Logan just gives up an RBI hit to Jeremy Reed to tie it. First run charted to JJ in 11 straight innings against the Mets

It looks to me like Boone Logan wants in the GIVE IT UP BOYS club. Ah, I’ll keep an eye on this guy to see if he’s worthy or not.

Logan seem to always be on full counts, in this outing. Has a nice breaking ball, good changeup, and a fastball that he can gt to 93mph. Needs to work on his control, but his stuff is pretty good.

Listening to the game on 96.1 FM in Atlanta. Really like Jim Powell, so far. He’s articulate, knowledgable, and interesting. He has been interviewing Frank Wren in between innings about how the final roster decisions are made and who is involved as well as calling the game. Good stuff.

Also, really nice not to have to have to suffer through the redneck station 94.9 like the last two seasons. How embarrassing for the Braves and Atlanta to have that steaming pile representing this city. Hopefully, that also means the bearded hick boob that was the face of that station will be missing from the big board at the Ted, between innings–what a low-life moron.

Yeah, them’s what I’m talkin’ about.

But your point is obscured by the time that has passed between the two transactions.

A feared (read: anticipated) crackdown on ADD meds that never occurred may have been assumed to now be unlikely. Or at leats, workable.

What I’m sayin’ is that that was then (Jan 07), and that this is now (Jan 09. Perhaps the PED hysteria has been judged to be in terminal ebb.

Who knows? Not I, for sure.

Doc Holiday (11:19 am): ” You want the guy with the most experience out there to minimize the risk of making a dumb defensive play. JRo is very good at SS, but if you are looking for experience, Jeter is the man. We could argue about it all day. I think is not that bad a decision.”

So, eight year veteran, reigning World Series shortstop 29-year old Rollins must STILL defer in the field to 34-year old, lead-footed dinosaur Jeter??? Because of “experience”?!?!?

Gimme a break.

random agreed on jeter. not that hes a bad player, but with rollins on the team, jeter should be relegated to pinch hitting and maybe DH. if it were me, i would DH dunn everygame and have victrino in the outfield instead. defense is important, and i think davey johnson is playing jeter so he wont hurt his feelings, because its definetly not to give the team the best chance to win.

I cannot believe they want a championship caliber team, and are not ready to go forward and sign OHMAN.

FW really p..sss..ess me off with his approach towards the LOOGY situation, it is OBVIOUSSSSS we need Ohman, the braves do not want to spend 2 mill on ohman, but were willing to spend it on washout G Anderson, which no other team would have take, except the loosers of the mariners or pirates…

Hmmm. Kinda surprised Andruw is going this route.

From MLB.com –

“We let Andruw know last week that he’s not in the mix as an everyday player,” Daniels said. “To his credit, he’s willing to play any role on the club we see fit or do what Ron sees fit.”

Jones is in camp on a Minor League contract, and the Rangers have no plans as yet to add him to their 25-man roster. Under those circumstances, he has until midnight ET on Monday to exercise an out clause in his contract and become a free agent.

“That’s unresolved, but he has indicated a desire to stay with us,” Daniels said.

Daniels said the Rangers did not ask Jones about the possibility of starting the season in the Minor Leagues.

If Jones makes the team, he would be the fifth outfielder behind David Murphy, Josh Hamilton, Nelson Cruz and Marlon Byrd. He could also get time as a right-handed DH in a platoon situation with Hank Blalock.

The Rangers would have to make room for Jones by moving Frank Catalanotto, either through a trade before the end of Spring Training or by releasing him. If so, they would still be obligated for the $6 million remaining on Catalanotto’s contract.
