I can’t say I am that enamoured with Josh Anderson, but I think he has more upside than Blanco. Just looking at last years numbers, I would pick JA over Gregor at this point.

I really haven’t followed any of this WBC stuff, so I don’t know how Blanco has done so far this spring. I see him as being 2008’s version of 2007’s Willie Harris.

not really Lew, they are both used in both Scotland and Ireland. Of course they are both originally Celtic and Gaelic and there has been a huge intermixing over the centuries.I see his point though, if I were to make up an Irish sounding name I would use O’ since that one is almost entirely Irish.

what was i thinking Craig, yes Spann should be mentioned but Niekro is yes one of our greatest as well… Murph was extremely good, but with his numbers I have to put 300+MAddux And 300+Glavine and Chipper, and SMoltz before Murph. and Hank, Phil, And Warren up there too. If we can count Matthews he would be considered one of our greats as well.

No doubt Hank Aaron is the greatest Brave (and probably major league player) ever. At this point, Phil Niekro has to be next on the list. Niekro won 265 games during a span in which the Braves for the most part were horrible. When Chipper, Glavine, Smoltz, and Maddux make the Hall of Fame, there will be a new argument.

If the question was “most loved”, gotta go with the Murph!

Watching the mlb stream and the commentators dont seem to know the Braves stuff at all. I believe its the SNY feed so they might be doing it on purpose too. Claim that Schafer was caught using HGH and that Kelly played 2nd base “starting” last year as an experiment.
