TheManMike, it doesn’t offend me in the least. I wasn’t there. I just think there’s something a little inappropriate about calling an Asian pitcher a nickname that sounds identical to a memorable battle from the Vietnam War. Seems easier to just call him Kenshin, or KK.

Richie from Scotland, if you like college drop out girls wearing short orange shorts, then yes.
DOB ,What an excuse.
PWHjort, Freddy has lost 12mph off his fatsball and he just plain sucks, looks really awful… he should fit then with the 3-5 ‘Mucils pitchers…..

Maybe Kawakami ordered the wings?
thrill house that sounds perfect
February 27th, 20092:05 pm
Freddy Garcia getting hit around for the Mets. Mets ahead 3-2 with the bases full of Cardinals. Grounder to 3rd, Wright boots it. 2 runs score, 4-3 St. Louis. Error on Wright. Garcia is done.
Ritchie from Scotland
just looked it up, there’s a Hooters in England in Birmingham and they plan to put them in Scotland at some point soon….so ehh the wings are good yeah?
I hope Bobby will be able to communicate and connect with Kawakami-shan as well as he does with others.
February 27th, 20092:06 pm
Nobody cares about the Mets. Are you in the right place?
I wonder what Bobby was calling him today?
Reid in EAV
February 27th, 20092:07 pm
Not an ugly-swing K for Frenchy with bases drunk. That’s progress. I’ll take it.
You should care about the Mets. We play them quite a few times.
February 27th, 20092:08 pm
It’ll be a pleasant surprise for sure Ritchie!
I hate that so many people are putting the Met’s ahead of us when it comes to the race with the Phils. Did anyone notice Johan being pulled due to “elbow tenderness”??
We care about as much for the METS as we do for Manny
February 27th, 20092:09 pm
I love to watch the Mets lose
Now that I would do for 25 mil a year GTSteve!!!
February 27th, 20092:10 pm
oh no frenchy left 3 on in a spring training game quick everybody go into panic mode!!!!!!!
I will watch them when we play them. I do not give a rats ass about their team or their players.
Dude, another walk. .600 OBP…
(Note to DWW: You cann just scroll past the rest. Gonna talk Bird for a minute.)
To make Bold letters, type “strong” (without quotes) in between these: . Then type the word(s) you want bolded, and then do the “strong” thing again, only put a / before the word strong. Kinda complicated and hard to explain…hope that helps.
Your Baby hates baths? That’s funny! Petey loves them. He got really excited when he saw the stuff…been a while since he’s had one.
I actually draw birds, myself (not half as good as Lew, though). The reall shocker is that I’ve never actually drawn my Lovey–I have drawn white-faced cockatiels, before, though.
If you wanna see a photo of my Lovey, you cann try copying one of these addresses and pasting it in your address bar. It worked once before:
Those are two of my favorite pictures of him–they capture the real Petey.
Norton homers in top of fourth…Braves 2-0.
February 27th, 20092:11 pm
B:0 S:0 O:1 – Matt Diaz grounds out, second baseman Freddy Sanchez to first baseman Adam LaRoche.
B:0 S:3 O:2 – Frederick Freeman strikes out swinging, catcher Ryan Doumit to first baseman Adam LaRoche.
B:2 S:0 O:2 – Greg Norton homers (1) on a line drive to left field.
B:0 S:0 O:3 – Diory Hernandez pops out to first baseman Adam LaRoche in foul territory.
I am fairly certain that Campillo will be in Gwinnett. I would bet that Bennett and perhaps Buddy stay with the big club to be long/middle relief.
February 27th, 20092:12 pm
Norton solo hr
Nice hitting for Norton! There we go!

Hey, the greater-than, less-than signs didn’t show up in my post! But they’re what you hafta put “strong” between.
I love college dropouts in short orange shorts…
February 27th, 20092:13 pm
Top of the 4th
Diaz grounds out
Freeman strikes out
Hernandez pops out
Okay, someone at the game grab DOBI’s pc and start blogging
B:0 S:0 O:1 – Jack Wilson flies out to right fielder Jeff Francoeur.
B:0 S:0 O:2 – Freddy Sanchez grounds out, shortstop Omar Infante to first baseman Frederick Freeman.
B:0 S:0 O:2 – Ryan Doumit singles on a line drive to right fielder Jeff Francoeur.
B:0 S:3 O:3 – Adam LaRoche called out on strikes
I’m thrilled to have Norton on the bench. It’s nice to know we’ve got some power coming in to pinch hit. He might be our Matt Stairs.
I think Omar just got an RBI – got Diory in – we are up 1-0
February 27th, 20092:15 pm
Who pitched for us in that inning? Carlye?
Southern Bones, in case you didn’t know, the Mets are in our division. Some people like to know what the competition is doing. You’re not the only one on this blog. If you don’t like a post, just keep scrolling.
who’s next up to pitch for the Braves?
B:0 S:0 O:0 – Pitcher Change: Daniel McCutchen replaces Zach Duke
February 27th, 20092:16 pm
DWW – thanks, are you at the game, where is play by play ??
Hey, please try to remember that some young adults frequent this blog, young in the sense of years rather than maturity. At least employ some disguise in our adult language terms, huh?
BravesFanInPhilly- I agree with ya, especially if Diaz can stay healthy, and some good performances from our prospects our bench will be the best in the NL East for sure.
February 27th, 20092:18 pm
Glad Carlyle did well. Talked with him for awhile at last years spring training. He seems like a really good guy, family guy, will do anything to be part of the team
its on mlb.com
February 27th, 20092:19 pm
Play by play is here online: http://m.mlb.com/scores/plays/2009_02_27_atlmlb_pitmlb_1/5
Someone smarter than myself found it…im just reposting it.
As we all should, ShipHockey, as we all should…
Anba, well I don’t claim to know what he’ll do, but I think it’s more likely than not that he’ll bounce back. By “bounce back”, I mean numbers in the same neighborhood as his 06/07 numbers.
An average between .270-295, 17-25 homers, 85-110 RBI
February 27th, 20092:20 pm
ncsoots, where’s the poor language?
February 27th, 20092:21 pm
Scoring so far thtough 4….
Top 3 – Omar Infante doubles (1) on a line drive to center fielder Nate McLouth. Diory Hernandez scores.
ATL 1, PIT 0
Top 4 – Greg Norton homers (1) on a line drive to left field.
ATL 2, PIT 0
TY for PbP
B:0 S:0 O:0 – Josh Anderson doubles (1) on a line drive to center fielder Nate McLouth
How do you get to the play by play on MLB.com?
February 27th, 20092:22 pm
ShipHockey – someone earlier called KC a B……
B:0 S:0 O:1 – Omar Infante grounds out, shortstop Jack Wilson to first baseman Adam LaRoche.
February 27th, 20092:23 pm
That a boy Anderson! Good to see him hitting well now.
If Kenshin were Vietnamese, i would not call him K-san…..i must be overlooking something here, but i thought he was Japanese……..
am i missing something? If i am, i will totally never call him that again….
Also – Unless your actually wearing or having a toga party – or are Greek, i think its a bit insensitive to the Greeks to have your name as toga Party….so there……
that was a joke by the way……Jesus H
Chipper Jones homers (1) on a fly ball to center field. Garret Anderson scores.
i posted the link above…go there
HOMER FOR CHIPPER
B:2 S:2 O:1 – Chipper Jones homers (1) on a fly ball to center field. Josh Anderson scores.
B:0 S:0 O:1 – Brian McCann singles on a line drive to left fielder Jeff Salazar.
Carlyle will win the long relief role over Jorge Campillo
Kawakami looking good according to DOB. Seems like he’s a pitcher who relies heavily on location, but seems to know how to pitch.
Yeah, I’m really offended by all the adult language on this blog. I mean, WTF you adult languagers.
February 27th, 20092:24 pm
Chipper Homes, 4-0
Josh Anderson doubled…chipper homered….4-0 Bravos
February 27th, 20092:25 pm
PLAY_BY_PLAY – http://m.mlb.com/2009_02_27_atlmlb_pitmlb_1
Is my mum pitching ?
Did Garret or Josh double ??
So that’s GARRET (not Josh) Anderson in Center?? Wow. Well, that sort of makes sense. Since the Braves will only carry 4 outfielders, Garret is probably your backup Center-fielder. BC probably wants to get a look at him there.
The fact that he’s hitting leadoff might be an indication, not of where he will hit, but where the starting Center-fielder will bat in this lineup.
February 27th, 20092:26 pm
Frenchy choke time
While I was away, Norton and Chipper both went deep. Us two Americans waited for a crowd of 30 — yes, 30 — Japanese media to finish interviewing and shooting photos of Kawakami.
He felt good, but said his cutter still needs work and he’s not broken out his forktball yet. Mostly fastballs today, and a few good curves and cutters.
Chipper’s was a two-run homer to score J. Anderson, who doubled.
MFin04, play-by-play says Garret, not Josh.
February 27th, 20092:27 pm
BravesFan says Garret Anderson scores and DWW says Josh Anderson scores…. wich one is it????
I’m looking forward to that forkball! Don’t think I’ve ever seen one.
February 27th, 20092:28 pm
DOB, thanks for clearing up the Garrett/Josh thing.
DOB is at the game and he says josh, so i’m taking his word.
Ship, don’t believe I’ll actually point it out, LOL. Too much like taking a Hooters girl home to meet your mama.
There was nothing I would consider in terribly poor taste. However, there doesn’t seem to be ANY kind of filter on this new format, and it’s easy to get carried away in the heat of a moment. And, for the record, I’ve been guilty of some (disguised) blue language on here myself. I doubt that changing a few consonants or adding some asterisks actually disguises the intent or puzzles anyone over 12, but, still…
February 27th, 20092:29 pm
No, NOT Garret Anderson. Who said it was Garret, and why? He’s not here, will make his debut early to middle of next week, probably. It’s Josh Anderson.
eltrompoBRAVESfan, Roger Clemens had a Fork-ball
i cant take it anymore
better call in the brain surgeons to figure out who is in center
it’s josh guys
DOB, MLB.com’s play-by-play said Garret, not Josh.
February 27th, 20092:30 pm
garret isn’t supposed to play till next week
yeah, im here
When is Garrett Anderson going to make his Atlana debut?
It says Garret Anderson on the MLB Boxscore as well.
February 27th, 20092:31 pm
looks like David cleared it up. never mind
For some reason the mlb.com play by play is reading Garret instead of Josh.
ah my bad ease, thanks for clearin that up
Any updates on Frenchy?
February 27th, 20092:32 pm
“DOB, MLB.com’s play-by-play said Garret, not Josh.”
DOB is at the game, I think he can tell the difference between a 37 year old black guy and a 25 year old white guy.
Francoeur, two walks. Is he ok?
Roger Clemens had a Fork-ball – KC
I thought he was slimeball with a forked tongue….
February 27th, 20092:33 pm
WOW, 2 BB in 1 game? Incredible.
Garrett Anderson isnt playing though…so when it says…Garrett in means Josh.
Buffalo NY Braves Fan
“going to talk to Kawakami” is a great cover for “chasing around the hooters girls”
But we do appreciate you keeping us abreast (get it… hooters humor there) of the goings on in the game.
B:4 S:0 O:1 – Jeff Francoeur walks. Brian McCann to 2nd.
Does anyone want me to keep doing this? BravesFan are you taking over? Either way just didnt want to double post everything.
two walks for Frency? I AM AMAZED!!!!!
KC- I’ve heard of it, I just don’t think I’ve ever seen one and known that it was a forkball. Whats the trajectory of one?
Francoeur walking twice in a game? Someone needs to pay his hitting instructor some serious cash.
Diaz, 2 GIDP. Maybe he should lean back more.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
