DWW – probably not
February 27th, 20091:41 pm
Is “Daichi” Japanese for “DOB”?
MANNY, did someone say MANNY, MANNY o not MANNY
DOB, with only 29 pitches and the ease at which Kenchin pitched does he go one more inning?
February 27th, 20091:42 pm
you are the man DOB
DOB: We all owe you big time for the play-by-play!!! Thanks.
DOB, hows his velocity look?
Frenchy took 3 pitches – this guy must be way out of the strike zone
February 27th, 20091:43 pm
K-san………..thats alot shorter than typing his entire name…..right?
This guy has the stuff…im so excited. I also would like to know what he looks like on the radar…
Diory Hernandez draws one-out walk to bring up J. Anderson…
Reid in EAV
DOB, many thanks for the play-by-play. Hanging on it here in rainy ATL. Very excited about Kawakami.
Now, those silly MLB eligibility rules (which ignores prior pro experience in another league) is still in effect, allowing him to be a legit contender for ROY, right?
Jackie Treehorn, no it’s not. There’s no guarantee that Francoeur will bounce back, certainly. But it’s more likely than not that he will. There have been MANY good hitters who have had season-long slumps for no apparent reason.
Just to name a couple… Mike Schmidt had a terrible season at a similar point in his career, and Mark McGwire had a year (in his prime) where he hit .201… steroids and all.
There’s too much talent there. He’ll be fine. I’d wager a 20-spot on it in a heartbeat.
February 27th, 20091:44 pm
Ol’ Rochy makes nice stab on liner to his right, gets out at first, moves D. Hernandez to second.
Francoeur is really earning his new deal
February 27th, 20091:45 pm
Jackie Treehorn is the man….made me go out and get a beach full of pornstars throwing me up and down from a big blanket…..naked…….
Three Hooters waitresses just walked by beneath the pressbox, in full uniform.
Who’s scheduled to pitch after Kawakami?
David, I feel like a kid with his ear to the transistor radio. The play by play and Kawakami paparazzi info is fantastic. Thanks!
Reid in EAV , I believe you are right, he is a rookie
Infante doubled off base of the CF wall to drive in first run of game, nice two-out knock
February 27th, 20091:46 pm
Braves baseball and Hooters waitresses, are you sure you’ve not died and gone to heaven DOB?
KC I will take you bet
“Full Uniform” is a bit of an oxymoron for Hooters waitresses
Reid…yes he is ROY eligible.
How can we forget Chipper getting the shaft in ‘95 to Hideo No-longer in the league-o. Absolute crap.
Now thats play by play…. more details
TheManMike, K-san is a little too close to Khe Sanh for my tastes.
Run Heap Run
Insert Hooters waitress joke here.
“Three Hooters waitresses just walked by beneath the pressbox, in full uniform.”
And there goes the play by play…
February 27th, 20091:47 pm
Three Hooters waitresses just walked by beneath the pressbox, in full uniform. – DOB
Better keep an eye on Chipper!
I bet Chipper is in Heaven
Karl Hungus, email me at email@example.com, and we’ll hammer out the terms.
February 27th, 20091:48 pm
low blow on chipper
“Better keep an eye on Chipper!”
Why?? What’s he wearing??
If Hooters girls are around you better keep your eyes on Chipper.
Andy loves Bobby’s Cox!
Chipper draws a walk, runners at first and second for Mac
Takes a 1-1 pitch for strike 2, then another inside for 2-2 count
Why?? What’s he wearing?? – brian
February 27th, 20091:49 pm
We will know how much DOB watches the game by his misspelled words
That was wrong Renegator. But very funny.
hooters girls at the game?
keep an eye on larry
We all agree Chipper got jobbed in 1995…but Nomo not being in the league is no surprise…he will be 41 years-old this year.
he meant keep your eye on chipper cuz chipper is up at bat!
toga party – Khe Sahn is greatest ever Aussie song see
Toga Party…..your tastes really mean little to me. Sheesh, can’t even abbreviate things anoymore or draw cartoons these days without some loon taking offense…..Just call me El Duderino since we’re not into the whole, a brevity thing….
omar infante is the consummate utility man….love having him back this year
February 27th, 20091:50 pm
low blow on chipper – DWW
Only hurts cause it’s true!
Karl Hungus, just to warn you… I have a pretty good track record with these types of bets. I took a few people’s money on a similar bet after Tim Hudson had that poor season a few years ago. =)
omar is a great player to have off the bench
February 27th, 20091:51 pm
On a funnier note, watching ‘Mucils versus cards, poor old Freedy Garcia looks horrid, old slow, fat as Andruw (2008), they’ve actually pulled the radar (off)
hey DOB can we get a visual on the hooter girls and there uniforms
BTW – it was K-san…not Khe Sahn………quite simply for ease of typing purposes…..
Any word on velocity from K-san??
Full count now to Mac, and he fouls a couple of pitches down 1B line, then draws a walk to load bases.
Bases loaded for … Francoeur. Hey, it’s a new season. Stop that.
February 27th, 20091:52 pm
Francoeur takes first two pitches for balls, then pulls a screamer foul to left….
Then grounds out to short. Inning over.
DOB, Yesterday I commented early in the game about empty seats and shortly thereafter, another commenter stated that problem was early ST start. Later you said “Yikes”. Have you picked up any thoughts from management on this, and how is attendance today in Pirates’ home base?
Same old, same old
Well Hudson is good French sucks
Bravely going forward
How about that KC
February 27th, 20091:53 pm
Buddy Carlyle in to pitch for Bravos to start third
Yea KC I see how Francoeur has changed already! Hes SO CLUTCH!
“Then grounds out to short. Inning over.”
Let me guess….tried pulling a breaking pitch? A la Andruw Jones…
February 27th, 20091:54 pm
Has Ohman signed with anyone?
I go to Hooters for the wings. That’s why I go there. The only reason. Very nice wings. It’s so funny you think I’d go there for some other reason. That’s so stupid. No other reason for me to go there but the wings. That’s it. Period. Love the wings. Great wings. Not another thing about that place that attracts me. Just the wings. Very tasty. Everything else about that place repulses. But those wings, delicious. Only reason I go there.
February 27th, 20091:55 pm
Karl Hungus, email me at the address I gave in a previous post, and let’s get this Frenchy bet set up.
Hey, lay off Frenchy…he took seven pitches IN A ROW!
Idiots at MLB.com still think that Garrett Anderson is playing and batting lead off. Someone must be asleep at the switch.
Man, the bullseye is going to be on Frenchy for a long time ain’t it? Hope he doesn’t buckle!
Hooters is dumb and the redneck outfits the waitresses wear ruin any potential.
Hooters actually has food?
February 27th, 20091:56 pm
Standard Frenchy – failing with the bases loaded. Is it 2008 still?
give the email one more time
Ritchie from Scotland
February 27th, 20091:57 pm
judging by all your reactions should I bet upset that we don’t have Hooters over here?
thanks for the updates DOB!
You guys, Frenchy said he wasn’t going to suck this year so just calm down, everything will be fine….trust him!
Karl & Anba, Y’all are absolutely right. Good hitters never ground out. What an idiot I’ve been.
So how ’bout it Karl? Are we gonna do this or not?
kc what are the terms I want some of the action! Frenchy will be average at best. Along the lines of under.290 UNDER 20 hr.
February 27th, 20091:58 pm
I meant below average
Anba, haven’t discussed terms yet.
Scotland doesn’t have any Hooters?
February 27th, 20091:59 pm
Buddy also looking good, strikes out two in a perfect third inning
Yeah Ritchie! You should be, although I’m not sure the weather would be conducive to the uniforms they wear!
How’s Buddy doin’?
Job well done by Kawakami!
Karl what numbers do u think frenchy will put up then?
February 27th, 20092:00 pm
David are you ordering food? whats happening?
Did you notice something about Logan yesterday? He was totally tipping his pitches. He has a pronounced high leg kick on his fastball deliveries and a very low slide step on his off-speed pitches. Hitters will definitely pick up on that sooner or later. Maybe that’s why he’s run into some trouble in the past. (Or maybe he just didn’t care about his mechanics as much for a Spring start). Maybe you could mention it to Roger.
All right bitch you better pay me
Can only follow the box in central Florida today – no MLB Audio etc. But it appears Frenchy is mid season form with 3 LOBs through 3.
DOB, did Francoeur hit the ball hard or weakly?
February 27th, 20092:01 pm
Bugger, all of this Hooters talk, I went to the original one I think somewhere in North Carolina last year, outside the Palms in Vegas I cannot recall seeing so many 9-10s in one tiny place in my life…
I think the NYC Hooters is 3 blocks from my place but the g/f has me on “little girl” watch
“How much for the little girls, I want to buy the women…”
Gotta go talk to Kawakami. Back in a while
DOB, look what u started. Now I have to read through all these failed attempts at humor to read about baseball. thanks buddy.
February 27th, 20092:02 pm
kc what numbers do u think frenchy will put up??
I’m watching Mets Cardinals on MLB.TV. Livan Hernandez was effective for the first 2 innings and now the Mets have Freddy Garcia in and he’s terrible. He’s allowed 2 runs and walked 3 batters. The bases are loaded still only 2 out.
I hope we have Buddy in the 25 this year, he was very good, late 2008..
Can anyone pick up with the play by play while DOB is gone?
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
