DOB, many thanks for the play-by-play. Hanging on it here in rainy ATL. Very excited about Kawakami.

Now, those silly MLB eligibility rules (which ignores prior pro experience in another league) is still in effect, allowing him to be a legit contender for ROY, right?

Jackie Treehorn, no it’s not. There’s no guarantee that Francoeur will bounce back, certainly. But it’s more likely than not that he will. There have been MANY good hitters who have had season-long slumps for no apparent reason.

Just to name a couple… Mike Schmidt had a terrible season at a similar point in his career, and Mark McGwire had a year (in his prime) where he hit .201… steroids and all.

There’s too much talent there. He’ll be fine. I’d wager a 20-spot on it in a heartbeat.

I go to Hooters for the wings. That’s why I go there. The only reason. Very nice wings. It’s so funny you think I’d go there for some other reason. That’s so stupid. No other reason for me to go there but the wings. That’s it. Period. Love the wings. Great wings. Not another thing about that place that attracts me. Just the wings. Very tasty. Everything else about that place repulses. But those wings, delicious. Only reason I go there.

DOB-

Did you notice something about Logan yesterday? He was totally tipping his pitches. He has a pronounced high leg kick on his fastball deliveries and a very low slide step on his off-speed pitches. Hitters will definitely pick up on that sooner or later. Maybe that’s why he’s run into some trouble in the past. (Or maybe he just didn’t care about his mechanics as much for a Spring start). Maybe you could mention it to Roger. :)
